Questions & Answers

Q: I want to transfer a gun to you/FFL. Okay? I tell the vendor to call you, with a FAx or email for you to send them the FFL info.? Who do they need to ask for? What is the charge? When it comes in can we combine an hour on the range,to breakin?

A: I did this there last week. They were very friendly and it was easy. They charge $50 for a transfer between private individuals or $100 for a transfer from another dealer, plus a $12.50 background check fee. If you're transferring multiple firearms you only need to pay the background check fee once.

- Phoenix Bloomfield (3 months ago)

Q: What is the current fee for an hour of range time?

A: The cost of entry is $17.68 per person on weekdays and $20.80 per person on weekends.

Q: Can you shot a shotgun here at the range, and if so what ammo must it be?

A: Only slugs

- Steve McQueen (5 years ago)

A: Hello, we have temporarily suspended shotguns. Please check back in with us at a later time for shotgun shooting. Thanks!

- 5280 Armory (5 years ago)

A: I'm sure that you can shoot anything but call them and ask about ammunition as it differs but idk spreads are bigger at longer range

- Johnson11c (5 years ago)

Q: Hello, Never shot a hand gun before. Can i just come in and rent one to try it out?

A: Yes they have a very large assortment of rifles handguns revolvers auto SMG everything for rent 20 or 15 for handguns 40 for auto rifles smgs it's pretty cool

- Johnson11c (6 years ago)

A: They will help you through. Great staff!!!!

- Leyder Ness (6 years ago)

A: They do have an indoor range, and I believe do rent handguns.

- QiBoy 777 (6 years ago)

Q: If renting one of their handguns, do they require that you use ammo purchased there or can I bring my own in?

A: Both is fine.

- Leyder Ness (6 years ago)

A: Hello, you are required to purchase our ammo for our rental guns. We look forward to seeing you soon! Thanks!

- 5280 Armory (6 years ago)

A: Either way is fine - bring your own or buy it there.

- Anthony Borruso (6 years ago)

A: You can bring your own.

- Amy Saltzman (6 years ago)

Q: Hay do you guys have a kimber micro 9mm

A: Sorry my dad was asking hay do you guys have a taurus millennium g2 pt111

- Julian Reyes (6 years ago)

A: Good morning! We do not carry Kimber at this time. Thank you so much for checking and we hope with can help you with something else. Have a great day!

- Gina Boone (6 years ago)

A: I suggest make a call for that specific model.

- Leyder Ness (6 years ago)

Q: do you have a taurus pt92 chrome in stock or can order it? Thanks much

A: I don't know if they check this but I would give them a call. They have a large selection and could most likely get it in .

- Grand Moff Bauer (7 years ago)

A: It's worth the trip there.. if anything just to take a look around and speak to someone ..they have a very knowledgeable staff and wide selection

- Jordan Gleason (7 years ago)

A: As stated, 5280 Armory has a great selection. They do not accept transfers, so if they order anything, it will need to be new from the manufacturer. Its best to call them, since this is not their website and not the right place to ask them about their stock.

- John West (7 years ago)

Q: Got here store hours say open 10a.m but really don't open tell 11a.m not on the any sight does it say that?

A: The range opens at 10. Store at 11. It states it on the home page under Range Hours.

- Aaron Manning (7 years ago)

Q: Hello, I'm a foreigner on vacation here, can I still rent a gun and ask for advice? I never shot before, if yes, what do I need to bring there aside from my ID?

A: Hello, You are more than welcome to use our range and rent firearms so long as you're of legal age and provide a government issued form of identification. We have range officers on site to get people comfortable with the basics of firearms handling, however we do not offer "on the spot training" With that being said, we are happy to have you at our range and will do what is necessary to ensure your comfort and safety on range. We also offer basic pistol classes that cover safety and handling procedures.

- 5280 Armory (7 months ago)

Q: Do you allow shotguns on the range? What about mini shells?

A: Hello, We do not allow shotguns on the range at this time.

Terrible customer service

Had a great experience purchasing my first handgun at 5280 armory! I came in with some research and had known what I was looking for, but the team was very educated and went above and beyond to make sure the transaction process was smooth. I left with a ton of resources to help make me an educated and responsible gun owner. The team what could have been a very overwhelming process very simple.

Being a collector, I buy very niche firearms. That being said they have ALWAYS had what I was looking for in stock. Impressive selection. Prices are on the high end but the selection makes it well worth it.

Thought reviews were wrong until today. Had a truly awful experience at the range. New employee Troy kept bothering us for safely transferring unloaded pistol between 2 booths that we paid for. Meanwhile we saw a guy shoot the ceiling right next to us. We were corrected for using a target timer but it was okay for some lady to handle a loaded gun in the hallway. Disappointing experience since this place was a go-to for awhile. Not every employee is representative of the 2 we had to deal with today. But unfortunately it doesnΓÇÖt appear that the management cares about customer service. JordanΓÇÖs reply to this review is a lie from start to finish. All they have is attitude and lack of accountability. And their replies are the biggest proof of that.

I visited 5280 Armory last month on a coworkerΓÇÖs recommendation. Gina the owner was amazing. My first time in years buying a firearm. I am also scheduling a class. Nicest, welcoming, knowledgeable people unlike 2 other gun shops I had visited.I highly recommend 5280.

These guys will demand you provide your Form4 for the suppressor that you purchased FROM THEM… they like to play “pretend to be ATF” game... Joke, not a gun store

From being a costumer that has spent thousands and had this store as the go-to, to won’t be coming back. All it took was one session at the range to change this. We were being boarder line harassed by Troy for everything. There were people standing outside of the stall loading a fire arm and someone shooting at the ceiling. But using the timer and not being a “member” is far more concerning… what a joke.

IΓÇÖd never been to 5280 Armory, but man! ThatΓÇÖs one heluva nice store. The owner and employees are very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices are fair, and IΓÇÖll be buying more. Best gun purchase experience IΓÇÖve ever had. Plus, their indoor range is very nice and clean. Keep it local and go see Matt!

Too busy to sell ammo

Seriously disappointed. We drove all the way out to 5280 to purchase a lower and not a single person in that shop even said “hey guys”. Not a word! We walked around the entire shop, stopped to look in every case, walked as slowly as possible… not a word. Not even from the female at the cash register. It’s not like we’re kids or look like we don’t have money. We just got off work so we’re wearing 5.11’s and black t-shirts. Off to another shop that wants to sell us something today.

Ive been going here for decades and not much has changed in the way of great selection and professional customer service. Every purchase ive made here ive been happy with. Ive recommended over a dozen of my friends here as one of the best places in colorado to buy armory. I feel like i need to leave a review, as i noticed some were Very inaccurate and seem ill intended, in which me or my friends have yet to have any kind of experience like that. Dont just take my word for it go in and find out for yourself. This place is great. 5*

My absolute favorite store to visit. They've sold me my first gun, and have sold me almost all the guns I've purchased this year alone. Knowledgeable, friendly, and non commission based staff, that will just show you some really cool guns if you like. Gina and her entire staff have helped my partner and me above and beyond every time we're there.

This place charges $100 to transfer a pistol. Absolute rip off. I highly recommend going to a different gun store that doesnΓÇÖt overcharge people. Their ammo is also way overpriced compared to other shops. Edit: since the owner replied with some false information, I thought I would correct them. I have shopped here before in fact, IΓÇÖve even been a member. As far as the ammo, IΓÇÖm referring to every single round, they sell including 9mm, 22lr, 40 SW, 45 ACP as well as other rounds that they mark up much higher than other shops in the area.

They used to be friendly on Shop side, but thereΓÇÖs some old guy with long hair and a young guy who are very rude and condescending. TheyΓÇÖll ask you if you want help and if you want to see something about 20 times. Then when you ask if you could they donΓÇÖt wanna show it to you (very lazy.) I was actually told he didnΓÇÖt wanna show me a gun because it costed $2000 and HE didnΓÇÖt have $2000( I have guns worth twice that amount!) I live on the complete other side of town and would enjoy driving over there to the range and bring new people for shooting tips and gun safety, because the young man on the range side is really cool and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I think IΓÇÖll be looking for a new facility. I hope your experience is better than mine!

have be here about 6 times is this was the last straw. most the employees have never been to friendly and at times seem passive aggressive, FFL fees are very expensive and at my last range trip they said I would get 55 minutes of range time but shut down my lane 15 minutes early because of some competition, which would have been nice to know before I paid them. done going here, just go to Bristolcone you'll have a much better time trust me .

This is my neighborhood range and shop, even when I'm not in the neighborhood anymore. Why? Expert staff, mostly family-run, and probably the best assortment in Colorado. They have a great short and medium distance range, and best of all, absolutely phenomenal staff. I especially appreciate Gina and Jordan - anyone who can walk a novice through complicated items with patience and a smile is truly a diamond in this world. If you want to receive crappy attitudes, poor service, and high prices, go somewhere else. If you prefer a place that values return customers and goes out of their way to take care of them, come here. Even if you move to South Denver, this place is more than worth an hour drive.

I had some experience with handguns but it was my first time shooting with an AR, the staff kindly gave me a short introduction to safety and usage, they were very patient and kind. Good prices, nice place, plenty of guns to rent and buy. I'm a foreigner (not from the US) so I used my VISA for registration. If you don't have any experience with guns at all, this place is perfect for you!

I cannot say enough good things about this armory! This was my first time buying a small pistol, and Noah, was so knowledgeable and friendly helped me pick out just the right one. He also suggested a lot of other ones just to give me something to compare it to. You could really tell that he knew what he was talking about. Sometimes as a woman, I can feel looked down upon or demeaned going into a gun shop, but I cannot say enough great things about this place. Even the gentleman who helped me do my background check, Ian, was awesome; very helpful and friendly. It really feels like you are truly welcome at this place and they want you to be there. Keep up the great work guys. This will be my go to place for my next firearm! Thanks!

I only came in for a couple Glock non-high capacity mags, but I instantly loved the place and the woman that helped me. Next time I need gun gear I'm going here.
