Alabama Firearms Academy

I honestly have always hated indoor ranges but this place was great, it's a top of the line facility with great ventilation, noise management, and staff, and shooting USPSA here was very fun. It's definitely changed my opinion on indoor ranges and we'll definitely be back.

Joined a couple of months ago and really enjoy it. The idea of it being close to where I live is great. The people working there are great and willing to help you anyway they can.

Just perfect!!!! We rented the facility for our class reunion. The shooting range was a great activity for the reunion. The owners and staff were amazing!

Took the Carbine 1 class with Robert Farm today. Excellent instructor, very professional and personable. The facilities are great and everything clean and functional. CanΓÇÖt recommend highly enough.

On my first trip to the firearms academy, I had the pleasure of training with Jessie. From the moment I began the training, it was clear that she possessed a wealth of knowledge and a passion for sharing it with others. What I loved most about her approach however, was her ability to build confidence in yourself. She recognizes each individual's strengths and areas for improvement, offering personalized feedback and encouragement to help you reach your full potential. Under her guidance, I not only gained the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate a firearm but also developed a newfound sense of confidence in my abilities. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking comprehensive firearms training coupled with unwavering support and encouragement.

Great indoor range with 25 yard bays. The instructions facilitate both USPSA style matches on Monday and monthly GSSF matches. Shout out to Jessie for providing awesome instructions and for practicing what she preaches by participating in local competitive matches.

By far the nicest gun range weΓÇÖve ever been to. I think itΓÇÖs the Apple store of shooting ranges. And the staff felt more like friends than employees.

Review: My visit to Alabama Firearms Academy Gun Range was nothing short of excellent. The owner, Devon, truly sets the standard for customer service. He's not just friendly; he's incredibly knowledgeable and goes out of his way to ensure every visitor feels comfortable and informed. The facility itself is impressive: clean, well-maintained, and designed with the customer's experience in mind. I wasnΓÇÖt surprised when I heard that the state of the art facility was ranked one of the highest in the nation in terms of facility design. Whether you're a seasoned shooter or a first-timer, this place has something for everyone. I can't recommend Alabama Firearms Academy enough for a safe and enjoyable shooting experience.

Posted 3/12/23: I'm very excited that a place like AFA now exists in our community. This facility is amazing and has a friendly staff along with down to earth owners(who are on sight). I've really enjoyed shooting the USPSA matches there on Monday nights.... stop by after work, shoot a match and be home by 9pm has been great. :) The store is always VERY neat, clean and has an impressive inventory. They also offer a variety of classes and I look forward to take a class or two in the future. Edited on 1/27/25 to add: Wife and I took the Disaster Preparedness class with Jessie and we learned so much. The "workshop style" class was amazing because it allowed folks/students to interact and exchange knowledge with others. Jessie is extremely knowledgeable and an excellent instructor who cares about helping others. I look forward to another class in the future.... the tasty lunch form Morgan House was a nice perk too.

This was my first time Ever shooting a firearm and Jessie made me feel so comfortable and she took time to explain some basic things to me that she teach in her class. I am planning on getting a group of ladies together and schedule a class with her. I Will be going back.

I had shot rifles and handguns with the watchful eye of my Dad all my life but haven't shot a gun in many years. I just recently bought a handgun for self-defense and since he had passed on, I had nobody to give me guidance on my new gun or show me how to shoot it. The staff at the Academy was very attentive, patient and understanding to my need to protect myself. They gave me information on my gun and guided me on how to safely shoot it, answering all my questions. What a relief! The indoor range is wonderful, state of the art facility, and their huge selection of ammo and shooting supplies was beyond what I expected. I feel comfortable now shooting my handgun and it was so easy to walk in as a newby and shoot. I enjoyed it so much! They have great classes available especially for women and will even teach me how to clean my gun or they will clean it very reasonably. This range is so much better then that old mound of dirt my Dad took me to and I completely recommend them. You won't be disappointed.

Had a great ladies beginner class. Very informative and helpful. Made me feel so much more comfortable and confident with a firearm! The staff is great and helpful. Definitely worth it! I was nervous going in but they are so helpful and make your time learning easy.

We recently had a professional meeting with Devin and his staff. We were able to get lunch from Morgan House which is at the location, have our meeting in one of their rooms, and then receive some firearms training with range time. Every staff member was extremely helpful and professional. This is more than just a place to purchase a firearm. It is a great location to host all types of events for all types of people. Could not have had a better experience.

I believe this is the Best of Boaz. Great facility and people. My sons and I have always been treated with professionalism and respect . IΓÇÖm a life-long shooter and this is by far one of the best facilities I have visited. Great membership rates.

We had our appreciation dinner there. Food was great. Fantastic hospitality. They made sure all questions were answered. Safety is their top priority. All levels of skill are welcome including never have shot a gun. Great venue for any celebration. Go check it out!

We were from Canada and we have never fired a gun before. They taught us how to use it very clearly and it was just a very good experience overall.
