Alpine Shooting Range
Shooting range since 1968 with skeet fields & manual traps, plus competitions & firearm instruction.

Q: Why can't you shoot FMJ pistol rounds? 3 previous times I used FMJ(10+yrs ago.) I did not see any signs or hear anyone talking about it. The average shooter can not afford to practice with HP ammo.FMJ is called tar-get/practice ammo.
A: There are no restrictions on pistol ammunition. We do not, however, shoot FMJ rifle rounds.
- Alpine Shooting Range (a year ago)
A: FMJ pistol has always been allowed and HP with rifles. You can even take shotgun to practice on.
- Albert Canales (7 months ago)
A: I just call and a lady told me no fmj is she wrong
- Michael Mitchell (a year ago)
Q: Can I shoot 50 cal here?
A: Yes. If you're talking about the .500 Smith and Wesson, .50ae Desert Eagle, .50 Beowulf but NOT 50BMG.
- Ruben Mercado (3 years ago)
A: No
- Leonard Fleming (4 years ago)
Q: Are steel cased rounds permitted?
A: Yes, just no fmj rifle rounds.
- Brandon Wells (7 years ago)
A: No, they are ammo Nazis.
- Mark D. Wood (6 years ago)
A: like they said...haha We do not care what the case is made out of.
- Alpine Shooting Range (6 years ago)
A: Like he said :)
- Neil May (7 years ago)
Q: Are FMJ 9mm pistol ammo ok to shoot there?
A: Yes!! No restrictions on pistol ammo.
- Alpine Shooting Range (3 years ago)
Q: Can you rent gun there to use?
A: Yes, pistols and rifles.
- R. W (6 years ago)
A: Yes
- Mark Alexander (6 years ago)
Q: So if you canΓÇÖt shoot FMJ ammo on the rifle range what ammo do they allow only hunting ammo?
A: Soft points Hollow Points Ballistic Tips
- Alpine Shooting Range (10 months ago)
A: You can have hollow points or lead tip. They sell ammo inside. On pistol side you can use FMJ. They are very helpful with any questions and willing to help out on the ranges. Good Luck and have fun!
- Debi Ralston (10 months ago)
Q: What is the youngest age allowed on the range? I have a 13 year old son I want to teach the basics and more importantly the safety of handling firearms. Thanks in advance
A: There is only a minimum age for kids who arenΓÇÖt with their parents.
- Alpine Shooting Range (4 years ago)
A: Awesome thanks for the super fast replies. He'll be by my side at all times.
- Mario Hernandez (4 years ago)
A: I have seen children younger. I Don't think they have changed the rules of the range.
- Mustardstain504 D (4 years ago)
Q: is rapid fire allowed?
A: The steel range has no rate of fire restrictions as long as the projectiles are impacting the berm or steel targets. Customers can also qualify for holster work on the private range and there are no rate of rife restrictions. The standard ranges all have a 1 shot per second limit.
- Alpine Shooting Range (4 years ago)
A: I think you have to buy the steel range for the rapid fire..
- Shelly O (4 years ago)
A: Depends what you are shooting. If you shoot steel targets with a pistol then you can shoot as fast as you want. Not sure about paper bays as I normally shoot reactionary steel with pistols at this range. Outdoors. But I know for sure at the steel bays you can fire as fast as you can pull the trigger.
- Michael Langley (4 years ago)
Q: Are you allowed to draw from holster?
A: Yes. In certain areas. Some restrictions.
- Mark Davis (5 years ago)
Q: Are .50 BMGs allowed? Like a Barrett M82A1
A: No, we donΓÇÖt shoot 50 BMGs at Alpine. Thanks for the question.

In all my years of shooting I have never been to an OUTDOOR RANGE that doesn't allow for FMJ 223/556 ammo. Pistol range is fair but that hustle to sell their own soft tip ammunition is absurd... Even over priced range USA allows FMJ IN AN INDOOR RANGE. Idk what smooth brain wrote this rule but it's obviously to sell more of their own ammo.

IΓÇÖve shot trap and skeet @ Alpine since I was in single digits, and still go there to shoot pistols and sight in rifles. The ranges are well supervised & monitored by staff, and they donΓÇÖt permit any horseplay, tolerate foolishness, or suffer any fools. However, the guns are loud, with some being a LOT louder than others. Hearing protection is a must.

100% waste of time. WonΓÇÖt let you shoot FMJ on an outdoor range in order to try and force you to buy their $20 a box 68grain garbage in the shop. Insane

Nice rifle and pistol range. No FMJ on the rifle range (they will check). The Safety Officers will leave you alone as long as you are not being dangerous. They have trap and skeet too. Max rifle range is 100 yards. Very nice.

Called last week for a receipt from a purchase on a debit card of a Pulsar scope. I have to have it for warranty work. I have moved and lost in it moving. The man on the phone said he would need the exact date. I got all the information he asked for on the phone from my bank. Went in Alpine in person with the date/transaction number from alpine/dollar amount. He told me he was not able to find the transaction. And I told him I was screwed without it. He proceeded to tell me have a nice day with a smirk on his face. I guess IΓÇÖm left with a $1,700 paper weight. This is not the first bad experience I have had in this place. I stood at a parts counter for 15min trying to buy a jp skeletonized bolt carrier group. No one would even greet me or ask if there was anything I needed. I guess they donΓÇÖt like hard working younger people in work attire. I will not be going back. I will take my hard earned money elsewhere. Since I canΓÇÖt reply to your comment it was purchased on 12/23/2022 pulsar already has the scope. So that is impossible. Alpine Transaction #000516296. I did everything the man on the phone told me I needed to do to get a copy of receipt from you. I donΓÇÖt need serial # I just need proof it was bought at your location. You need to update your systems if you canΓÇÖt pull up past digital transactions. Your customers are getting screwed.

Very complete range, both in terms of gun assortment, and shooting range styles/distances. Fair prices as well. Friendly, welcoming, professional, and helpful staff. Outdoor shooting is far more enjoyable than indoor only. 5/5 so far the best shooting range I have stopped by.

Alpine Shooting Range is a great place to shoot! ItΓÇÖs clean, affordable, and all outdoors, which really adds to the experience. The best part? Tony, the Range Master. HeΓÇÖs awesomeΓÇötotally laid-back and lets you do your thing, but if he sees you need a hand, heΓÇÖs right there with helpful tips. Perfect mix of giving you space but still super supportive. Overall, itΓÇÖs a great spot with a chill vibe, fair prices, and awesome staff.

My girlfriend and I made sure that we read the range rules carefully. We even asked a few questions to make sure that we were going to follow them correctly. We had a very nice experience because of it. I see these negative reviews and one thing they have in common is they didn't read the damn range rules! We will definitely be back because this place satisfies our outdoor range needs.

They donΓÇÖt allow FMJ and not only that their pricing on ammo they allow in their range is high as hell. Employees seem to hate their life and their job. Always answering questions with a terrible attitude and tone as if theyΓÇÖre not getting paid.

Needed to sight in a 308 scope and planned on shooting maybe 2 mags and leaving. Was told none of my ammo was allowed there. This is an outdoor range, this is the first outdoor range IΓÇÖve ever been to that does not allow regular 147gr FMJ ball ammo. Got my refund and left, will never return after my 10 minute experience.
