Questions & Answers

Q: Can I rent guns for shooting at this range?

A: No.

- Bob Dino (2 years ago)

Q: Can you rent guns to shoot or do you have to take your own?

A: Take your own gun

Q: Can a child go and stay by herself untill someone comes for her or does an adult needs to be with the child, and is it free each day.

A: I think the fee is around $15 and they have an office area you walk into before going into the range. I would call and ask them if you could leave a child there for a little while. I would assume they have to be 18+ to be unsupervised. They are also closed certain days and probably most holidays since I believe the city runs the facility.

This was my first time visiting this range. Great staff and the range is kept up nicely, so I went ahead and did the One year membership. Very good choices of distance for both short and long guns

Been there several times, the range itself is excellent but the one negative is when there's a breeze in town, it's amplified at the range and no wind breakers.

Pretty good place to shoot, but check the wind forecast as it gets wild out there. It's great for practice, but stinks if you're trying to zero a rifle for precision and everything is blowing off the shooting benches. I wish that they'd put up a wind break or wall at the back of the firing line. I don't mind shooting in wind, but I don't want to get blasted when I'm trying to hold a rifle steady.

The Amarillo Shooting Complex was supposed to be for the public and law enforcement. It seem like every time myself or some of my shooting friends take time off to utilize it the staff always has an excuse not to let you in. Too windy, dusty, muddy, and or not enough time left to shoot. It also appears that the staff is just riding the clock on our dime. If we canΓÇÖt shoot shut the doors and go home to get off of the clock. Pathetic!!!!

I feel there are other ranges in town that are better. The other ranges are safe AND friendly to the public. Take Aim is the best. The owner is diligent about safety and super helpful. The Amarillo Shooting Complex is run by the police department.

Staff was extremely rude. We were unable to check our targets when attempting to zero in a new rifle. When we asked to see our targets we were told "absolutely not." On the pistol side a gentleman was already in our stall. Was yelled at for being in the wrong stall, even though they knew the man in out stall by first name they didnt say anything to him or tell at him to move. Save the money and gas money and go to canyon. Will not be returning.

Great place to shoot and range safety taken seriously. I see people give them less stars for showing up at 5 and getting turned down. Or them closing down at 5:30. Who cares. Just show up a little earlier. ItΓÇÖs a great facility to shoot at and to have locally. Staff is always friendly!

This place is ΓÇ£Hit or missΓÇ¥ some days you have employees that donΓÇÖt want to get their boots wet and wonΓÇÖt change your targets other days they are all about it. Great place to zero your hunting rifle or just send rounds down range if you had a bad week and need some trigger therapy. Bring a treat or a simple token of appreciation as they have a memorial for service dogs behind the range house.

The hours aren't really accurate. It says open until 6:00 but they kick you out at 5:30 and being a first timer they didn't tell us that when we got there. We get there a little before 3:00 and pay for 3 hours but after all the wait to get signed up, we barely got 2 hours. If you are looking for an organization run like the DMV, this range is for you!

If it happened for you to go there and found that tall skinny guy, i would suggest for you to turn around and go home, heΓÇÖs super rude. There are few other firing ranges are way more ranges in town are better.

Best range in town! Targets, ear protection, and spotting scopes available. A bit out of town, but not far. Ranges from 25' out to 100 yds to accommodate handguns to long guns. Membership (free) and safety pre-test required to shoot and rates are $20/day. Closed the first part of the week to accommodate law enforcement personnel. Only fair since they run the range.

Looked like a nice and orderly range. However be forewarned they will turn you away anytime after 5pm. Don't say you're open until 6pm then turn people away saying you're already shutting down. Just false advertising.
