Questions & Answers

Q: Are yall open? I called 30 times all business hrs yesterday on friday the 9th. Same as today it's Saturday no answer from the store or range! This is pretty aggravating!

A: first world problems

- BandC Kirby (a year ago)

A: If you have never physically been inside the store then you wouldnΓÇÖt understand. I guarantee that they are busy. I understand the inconvenience

- Jason Breese (2 years ago)

A: I agree. If you canΓÇÖt pick up the phone due to being busy thatΓÇÖs one thing and slightly understandable. However IΓÇÖve called 3 times, the phone was picked up and I was hung up on each time. Inexcusable. Busy or not. Unprofessional and disgusting.

- Joel Lugo (2 years ago)

Q: Do you need to make an appointment?

A: No, feel free to come in anytime! The range closes 1.5 hours before the store closes

- AmChar Georgia (2 years ago)

Q: Do you carry the Bersa Thunder 380 plus, 15+1, for purchase?

A: They do carry Bersa products. Sales are so quick I couldnΓÇÖt tell you all the models. Your best bet would be to go by the store and see.

- John Williams (2 years ago)

A: Like John said we do carry Bersa products. I am not sure of the current stock on that particular one but if you call the store or stop in they can let you know for sure.

- Carolynn Fridley (2 years ago)

Q: What are the prices for the range

A: Reasonable, you're better off calling them directly. Great staff.

- Al Giscombe (3 years ago)

Q: I am not a retired veteran; however, I am a Vietnam Era Vet may I join as a member?

A: Thank you for your service. Yes sir, veterans are absolutely welcomed here at Amchar GA. For your first visit please bring some form of prior service, DD214, an ID card, etc. From that point on youΓÇÖll only need your membership card. Thanks again for your commitment and service to our country. Look forward to seeing you soon.

Q: I have never done gun shooting before and planning to try it out. Do I need to take some classes fiest or someone at the range would be able to show me gun basics?

A: I can't speak for AmChar, but based on my time spent there, there are employees who are willing to show you some basics. They promote a third party training organization that offers official classes, so you can ask them for that info. I am frequently at the range there and, while I'm nobody, I'm always willing to help another shooter.

- Mark Einersen (7 months ago)

Q: Do you carry 28ga. WIn AA target shotshells 3/4 oz. No.8 by the case?

A: They don't carry 28-gauge, WIn AA target shotshells 3/4 oz, No.8 by the case.

- Google Via Phone Call (a year ago)

Q: Do you offer certification classes for armed security?

A: Hi Jesus, IΓÇÖm sorry but we do not offer certification training for officers

I was first introduced to AmChar via Youtube. They put out videos occasionally to let people outside of GA. see what they have in stock. After watching that first video I called and requested that the guy who narrated the video be the one who selected my pistols. Despite him being busy as the operations manager (who I now know as Sam) he still took the time to take my call, walk over to the case while on the phone with me and hand select them for me. An Italian made Beretta 92fs imported from Israel It was $399.99. A S&W model 3913 for $349.99. Both of them were in way better shape than I expected them to be for the price. Shipping was $40 for both pistols ($20 each). I now very much look forward to their videos and have since ordered even more pistols from them. He is A great guy and a firearm collector himself who will take the time to make sure you get what you want. I live in KY and I really want to visit the store in person. look up some of their videos on YouTube and see some of the cool stuff they have. You won't regret it unless you are trying NOT to buy guns! haha

After reading nearly all the reviews on Amchar Gun Store, I feel ready to share my final verdict. I always make a habit of checking the latest and lowest-rated comments to understand common complaints. One of the most frequent issues mentioned was that staff do not attend to customers and lack responsiveness, even when called. However, my experience was quite different. I visited on a SundayΓÇöone of the busiest daysΓÇöspecifically to test how they handle peak hours. The parking lot was spacious, clean, and easily accessible. Right at the entrance, I was immediately drawn to a stunning chopper low rider. As I walked into the store, an extremely friendly and welcoming gentleman approached me, offering assistance. I told him I was just browsing, and he kindly replied, "Let me know if I can helpΓÇöwave, call, or even yodel, and I'll be right there." So, in my case, the concern about staff being inattentive didnΓÇÖt hold up. Of course, there might be times when the store is overwhelmed with customers, so a little patience on our end is also necessary to support a local gun shop. The store itself was clean, well-organized, and had great deals displayed prominently. That said, from a business perspective, IΓÇÖd recommend rethinking the layout. The first thing shoppers see upon entering is the used gun section. While I understand the logic behind it, I believe it would be far more effective to showcase your best-looking, competitively priced firearms upfront. The colorful revolvers placed in the back left corner would make a far better first impression than a shelf of worn-out used guns. First impressions matter, and that ΓÇ£Shazam effectΓÇ¥ could make a huge difference. Now, about the used gunsΓÇöI have to be honest. Amchar of Georgia is a well-known name, whether you like it or not, and with that reputation comes a certain level of expectation. Selling rusted firearms or beat-up grips (like the Beretta 84 Cheetah at the entrance) doesn't reflect well on a store of your stature. For instance, if someone specifically came in looking for a used Tanfoglio Mossad 9mm, they might understand it's a pre-owned gunΓÇöbut seeing it in poor condition could be a deal-breaker. IΓÇÖd strongly recommend ensuring that all used inventory meets a minimum quality standard, especially if Amchar wants to maintain its strong reputation. Lastly, letΓÇÖs talk pricingΓÇöthis is where I had to dock some stars. Simply put, Amchar's prices were higher than expected, especially considering its location. You're not paying higher rent than competitors in Buckhead, Marietta, or Sandy Springs, nor do you have a significantly larger staff. So why are your prices on par with or even higher than some of AtlantaΓÇÖs top-tier gun stores? For example, a used Beretta M9A3 priced at $900ΓÇöhow much is a brand-new one, if I may ask? WeΓÇÖre living in the era of online shopping, free shipping, and $25 FFL transfers, so if IΓÇÖm driving 35 miles to visit Amchar, I expect an unbeatable price. Otherwise, why wouldn't I just order online or shop closer to home? I truly want to see Amchar thrive, but to live up to the name, some adjustments need to be made. I didnΓÇÖt check the gun range because I believe range preference is highly subjective, based on location, vibe, and accessibility, so IΓÇÖll leave that for others to review. Overall, the store has potential, great staff, and a clean setup, but pricing and presentation could use some improvement.

I was told "its your money I don't give a F what you spend it on" when asking if they had a new specific model that apparently they don't like. So I took their advice and will be taking my money anywhere else from now on even if I have to spend more.

Went to purchase a firearm for me and my wife and to test some firearms that we were considering about getting….we weren’t even looked at much less spoken to… after I pointed this out my wife then said well there helping out another customer. I then point at the staff behind the counter as one was eating a cheese burger. And I replied there not helping anyone…. Also fix your strobing lights around the counter people with Photosensitive conditions including myself. Could be effected by it just as a heads up

I have been going to Amchar for almost a year. The staff has been great, except once when one of the attendants was a tad bit unhelpful. They have kept their ammo prices almost the same throughout the pandemic. The range is nice and clean. They also have a nice selection of guns & accessories. The reason for 4 stars is that they don't yet have a system to take care of customers that come in for a quick purchase, like a box of ammo or target. You find yourself waiting in line with people who are renting a range lane. If they fix this problem, five stars. Update: I recently purchased an annual membership since I train here about once a week, for the past 3 years. What sold me was that "Priority range reservations" is advertised as a member perk. When I tried to reserve a lane, I was told they don't do reservations. I pointed out, that is what's listed on their website as a member perk. The answer was, "They need to take that off, we don't do reservations". This is false advertising and it is still listed on their website as of Oct. 9, 2024.

Had a great experience on my first visit to this establishment, the employee who assisted me named Sam was an overall great person and was very helpful in narrowing down what handgun I wanted to get and it was priced lower than other places so bonus! He even tried his best to find a hard to locate ammo caliber for me and that's just above and beyond for me, I may live an hour away from this store, but I can guarantee I'll be making the trip next time I wanna get a new firearm.

Have had multiple occasions of trying to purchase product and have had the employees just keep walking past me like I'm invisible. Watch them give someone a range pass because they still had approximately 30 mins left on their range time but when I tried I was denied & I usually spend close to $200 every visit with them.
