The training deserves five stars. But if you are from GREENE COUNTY watch out for misinformation, that can lead to pistol sales for AFTA. During the two day training you may hear, as I did ,that when filling out a county application it is a good idea to have a pistol to list. I listened and did just that, I bought a pistol from AFTA to list. It turns out that is exactly what the Green County Sheriff's Office does NOT want. They do not want people attesting on the application to owning a pistol they are not permitted to possess. Moreover, I have been told there have been discussions between AFTA and the Green County Sheriffs Office about this specific problem with the applications for pistol permits by Green County residents. I am disappointed I made this error on my application thinking I was getting good advice about the application process. Don't put your Greene County pistol application in jeopardy.

I really enjoyed the safety class, more than I thought I would. The instructor Phil was great, as were Matt and Lee. The class informative, the pace good, never felt my attention drifting. I highly recommend. I will be returning for private lessons.

Participated in the 16 hour training course. As someone with no firearms experience, I was very nervous. The instructors (Phil, Matt and Lee) were fantastic and I learned a lot. Overall, a very welcoming and professional place.

Everyone starting from the front desk to the range folk were super helpful and welcoming. I cannot recommend this range enough for people new to firearms.

I took their pre-licensing pistol permit class and I absolutely loved it. I would recommend it to anyone whether you have knowledge of firearms or not. The class is extremely beginner friendly and the training staff is helpful, friendly, and patient. 10 out of 10.

As a gun-owner who moved into NYS, the pre-licensing course offered here was extremly informative. I learned alot about the legal use of deadly force in NYS and tactical decisions regarding concealed carry. They have also helped me to understand NYS gun laws as a new resident. Going to a gunstore for the first time can be very scary and intimidating, especially if you aren't a firearms owner, but everyone I've met here has been extremely nice and helpful and respectful. 10/10, would reccomend

An all around great place with great people, the CCW training course was very informative and the instructors made it interesting and pretty fun. I also bought my pistol here, they made the process easy and smooth. IΓÇÖve recommended this place to friends and theyΓÇÖve seemed to share the same opinions.

Took the 18 hour NYS pistol course with Lee this weekend, was very impressed with the professionalism and quality of both the instructors and the facility. Before the course I never shot or even held a pistol and had little gun experience, and by the end I left confident and eager to continue with more classes and training. I highly recommend coming here, everyone was very friendly and made for a great learning environment even for beginners.

I can't say enough good things about this facility. The instructors and other staff members are top-notch and there is a gun shop on site with a good selection and great prices. Highly recommend. Update: I am cognizant of the fact that there are range rules that must be followed for safety reasons. I appreciate the fact that people who don't follow the rules are asked to leave. Firearm safety is paramount.

This place is very bad for groups of people to learn about how to shoot for being and ask you to leave and donΓÇÖt have any policy for return the fee or provide otherwise service. Also this place is most not open place I ever see which fairly no like people don look like them and say different they donΓÇÖt understand .

Great facility, knowledgeable instructors and friendly staff, with a wide variety of lessons and clinics to help you improve whatever aspect of firearms training youΓÇÖre looking for. Staff made me feel welcome from the first day, with no such thing as a dumb question. Became a member and with the member discounts on purchases and classes, free lane use and free firearm rentals, itΓÇÖs almost paid for itself in the first three months. If you want to get serious with your training and learn proper techniques and safety, this is the place to go to.

I had a 10/10 experience here at American Firearms training academy over this weekend. My instructors, Brian and Lee were very down to earth and very descriptive with what they teach alongside with every other instructors IΓÇÖve spoken to. IΓÇÖm happy IΓÇÖve found my first home here to practice firearms and I canΓÇÖt wait to be back again!!

Not really black people friendly they act like they donΓÇÖt see you had and issue with my gun on the line asked for help and i didnΓÇÖt not get the help i needed he was so careless what a racist place

First time at a range. Laura who welcomed us as soon as we walked in. Gave us tips and advice for first timers. It was a blast. Highly recommend. 5/5. Shoutout to Laura, our safety guy and all the guys in there who were answering all my questions out of curiosity. IΓÇÖll be back next weekend. I can confirm this establishment is open to the public and you donΓÇÖt have to own a gun or have a permit.

I did my 18 hour Concealed Carry class here and it was great. These dudes (and lady) know what they are talking about. Wide selection of Sig Sauer weapons and attachments and som pretty good deals.

Didn't buy anything from there, yet, but took their FL/Utah course with Tai and was great. He was knowledgeable, funny and just cool. Indoor range is pretty nice and looking forward to going back there to shoot or buy, or both 😁

I came here as a single woman with no prior experience and am so glad I did. Did my CCW course here too. I have purchased several handguns, am a member and have several weekly lessons. Everyone is fantastic and very welcoming. My instructor Jeff is the best, I have an awesome time while really focusing on the fundamentals, Ms Connie is lovely and Jim and Lee are always more than helpful. There is a "club" for women shooters, ample opportunity to take lessons with a variety of instructors and there is just a good vibe. For anyone looking to improve their technique or just practice and especially for women, this is a great place to do so - absolutely recommend.

SCOUNDRELS! Charged $226.93 for a restocking fee. On a weapon I never even place my hands on. They took it off the shelf right in front of me and placed it on the counter. I never touched it. I WAS NEVER TOLD about a restocking fee...even after being in the store for about a half hour. Had I been told, or known, I wouldn't even have purchased from this rip off store. It is just a shady policy altogether to gouge customers. When I inquired about the issue on the phone just now..."Connie" (who comes across at very nice) says..."well there is a sign". IT IS A 20% RESTOCKING FEE! Total dirty business. And who isn't nice when they have their hand in your pocket stealing from you. Just a totally disgusting policy and business.

Just completed my NY pistol permit training with these folks last weekend. Great instructors! Class was very informative and interactive. I will definitely be going back for more training and lessons in the future.

I took the 18 hour NYS required course at this location. The staff made me feel welcome. They were very thorough, welcomed questions and made sure everyone was comfortable. The class was well organized and comprehensive. I also appreciated the emphasis on responsible gun ownership and behavior.

Thank you for making my experience taking the 16+2 hour class an amazing experience. I canΓÇÖt be happier with how it went. Lee and all of the instructors were great, and very experienced, and knowledgeable. I would recommend this to anyone that needs the course or is even thinking about it. After being there I will be back in the future for many other classes and training.
