Questions & Answers

Q: I have an AR15 with a tall front sight that I can't stand. What would you charge to remove this?

A: Austin, Our gunsmith is moving to part time and is no longer accepting gunsmithing projects so we will not be able to provide this service at this time.

- Applied Ballistics (4 months ago)

Q: Do you happen to allow practice with with Byrna projectile practice in your facility?

A: Unfortunately not. Our traps are designed specifically to handle bullets (lead/copper) and anything else can potentially clog them. This is one of the reasons we canΓÇÖt allow shotguns to be used on our range.

- Applied Ballistics (10 months ago)

Q: Do you have rifle lanes can I shoot a 8mm Mauser?

A: Unfortunately that caliber (like the other high-powered rifle calibers) can be fired by members only. Even then, we do not allow rifle ammo that has steel content.

- Applied Ballistics (11 months ago)

Q: Do you accept Transfers and if so, what is your cost per serial number?

A: We do accept transfers. We ask $25 for the first serial number, and $12.50 for each subsequent one, per transaction.

- Applied Ballistics (a year ago)

Q: How much is it to shoot here? and Can you schedule ahead of time?

A: A shooting lane rents for $15 per half hour. How much it costs to shoot overall will depend heavily on what you need (renting guns and buying ammo from us vs bring in your own, etc) We donΓÇÖt reserve lanes unless youΓÇÖre an annual member or have a large party that needs to be planned in advance.

Amazing staff super kind super knowledgeable! A wide variety of guns to choose from! Highly recommend for the gun enthusiasts!!!! Thank you Dan - you were wonderful. The senior gentleman (sorry I forgot your name) thank you for taking care of me! To people going here: A gun range is a gun range and we have to follow the rules of the range. This is not a carvinal ride at a circus or a ride at a theme park. Be curious be courteous asking questions, this is not the place to show off or act like you know it all. It's life and death.

Went in with my girlfriend to inquire about classes listed on their website. 3 younger women were checking out when we arrived. The old guy was making several uncomfortable remarks about one of the womenΓÇÖs skirt and how good she looked. It was horrifying to listen to. Meanwhile the other employee leaned up against the case staring into the distance. We waited patiently for them to finish helping the other customers. They left, and the old guy hobbled right past us, and went outside after the women and the other employee still hadnΓÇÖt acknowledged us either. I politely asked if he would be able to help us. He then acted annoyed when I asked about the classes. He said the business was for sale so they quit offering classes. It was honestly the worst customer service I have received anywhere lately.

Absolute HORRIBLE customer service. YouΓÇÖre better off spending $30 more to ship your stuff to Four Guns or anywhere else honestly. If you have absolutely no other choice than to go to Applied Ballistics good luck. If Odis is there just turn right around and walk out. You would accomplish more with your time trying to convince your dog to talk.

Me and my wife went in a few weeks ago it's a very nice range and many options to choose from when it comes to renting firearms and shooting.. I did notice when I was shooting the employee working in the range swept my brass up under the fireing line limit to collect brass for reloading.. so felt like they were purposely steeling my brass before I could even pick it up to keep. Second off the two younger men working there employees were rude as hell.. tried to treat you and make you feel like an idiot and also needs to treat people with more respect.. my wife also very upset with the way they treated us.. will definitely go back for range shooting but will refuse to interact with those employees...

My experience was many years ago when this business opened at this location. I was one of the first people there. My dad.. R. Ed Keegan volunteered and worked there before he passed away.. This place makes me smile seeing that it seems to still be going strong. I miss living in Lafayette due to businesses like Applied Ballistics! I'm sure the staff there now are just as good, knowledgeable and friendly as the ones there on opening day.

Always a good experience when I go there. The owner is super nice, very knowledgeable, and a big supporter of the local shooting sports. The ventilation system in the range must also be better than other indoor ranges because the air always seems to be pretty clean.

Need to just shut their doors. They have one employee specifically that is a younger kid who is extremely rude and acts like he doesnΓÇÖt want to be there and was horrible help over the phone. The older gentlemen behind the counter was at least nice and friendly but was trying to do a million different things with other customers and actually dropped my new firearm when he was trying to check the serial number. DidnΓÇÖt damage it or anything but wasnΓÇÖt really thrilled about it. The place was just dirty and not very inviting. Only reason I shipped my gun there was because Four Guns wasnΓÇÖt listed as an FFL on the website I purchased the firearm from, so I wanted to try out Applied Ballistics but will definitely never be going back. Mainly because of the rude kid at the counter though.

Took our grandson here today. It would be the first time any of us shot at an indoor range. Everyone was very excited. We parked far from the entrance where there were no signs on the building. Walking in talking we didnΓÇÖt notice the signs posted near the door. Just stepped in holding our guns in a safe manner and BOOM! A hateful old man at the counter started yelling and scared the @$!?& out of us. Scolding us and belittling us in front of everyone. So embarrassing and such a bad experience. Obviously we turned around and left. Shame on you.

I love this place to shoot. I absolutely love the online store. The store inside is pretty tiny but they have a huge inventory online that you can order and have it delivered to the store. Within 10 days. Very nice people. I really enjoy going when IΓÇÖm able too. Wish hours were a little earlier. Also they offer training courses too. Another plus.

Wasn't a bad experience, went in, did my thing, but when I first went in my girlfriend went in with me, I said I'm here to shoot for the first time, and said that my girlfriend wasn't shooting. Then another employee standing aside helping another customer abruptly says "Miss how old are you" in a rude tone and had no right to even ask such a question because he wasn't even the employee helping me, and interrupted the whole interaction for that question. Just straight misogynistic because they're older folks, didn't ask me my age, or any other customer in there, only asked my girlfriend her age and should not have.

One of the best shooting ranges around. Helpful, friendly employees who keep it real, and most of all, fun. Also good prices on ammo and they even sell 3d filament!
