Ark Valley Gun Club

My son and I (he's a Marine, I'm a veteran, and both of us have been around guns our whole lives, he's 21 and I'm 42) went to go shoot at this place on 12/28. To start, I've never shot clays in an organization or gun club, so i would say I know nothing of the lingo of the sport from that point. I'm used to having a group of guys go to a friend's pasture, and we spend the day shooting clay together. The old guy that was running the center has a bad attitude to anyone who is new to the whole "skeet" or "trap" and don't know exactly what to expect going to a place like this. Right out the gate, when we pulled up to the property and asked if they were open and expressed we'd like to shoot clay, he treated us like we were stupid (which to a degree we are to how things are done there). His attitude during the whole conversation of introduction to our "safety brief" was just horrible and told us that my son and I could not shoot at their facility with a single shotgun between the two of us. After learning this i chose that this gun club is not for us so we walked off and didn't shoot there. Was looking forward to a day of shooting but very disappointed in how this place treats new people of the sport.

Had a great time at the KS State trap shoot 2021. Looking forward to the trap and skeet shoot 2022.

Was planning on going out and shooting some targets there but when I called their phone line was dead. Once I got out there they told me they were closing and I couldnΓÇÖt shoot. According to google they are open until 5pm I was there at 1:30.

Just joined as a member this summer after getting back into shooting 8 years off. Hope to shoot trap league this spring.

The staff is friendly, plenty of cokes and foods on the premise during shooting events. The traps through high percentage of intact targets, fields are easily visible. Cons- small lodge house (not everyone fit), Traps overlap- (some targets from other fields flew into vision ), Shade- there is none, Parking- is a nightmare, need more spaces. Overall a good experience, would just like to see some small improvements.

This is the best for shotgun shooting, the people there are very friendly and love to give newcomers tips. It is very nice and clean.
