Paid for an hour lesson with Drew. Excellent teacher and person. Had a great experience and got some good help breaking bad habits and forming some better ones. As a person who is relatively new to the sport IΓÇÖd highly recommend getting some lessons. A little help and expert tips really does transfer to hitting more targets.

25,50,100yd range is officer is the reason I keep coming back rather than Pontiac lake for fraction of the price. He is welcoming, keeps a wood stove burning for the cold, and spreads great camaraderie across the range benches. Not to mention this facilities skeet and trap resources are top notch.

Love having a Marine RSO there. The most professional rso they've had there yet. I wish the bays had more shade from the sun in the summer, and heated for the winter though lol.

Expensive and facilities are so-so. The roof on the shooting benches is nice for rain and shelter but it amplifies the sound so much. The RO also stacked us right next to someone else shooting rather than space us out, which only made the sound worse. For the cost and overall experience, I donΓÇÖt plan on being back.

Very nice and clean range. IΓÇÖve been coming here for 10 years, and live 5 minutes away. Safety at this range is at an all time high. Employees really seem to want to be there. Lewis is one of the most helpful and down to earth range officers IΓÇÖve ever seen at this location. HeΓÇÖs on top of anyone whoΓÇÖs not following safety rules and isnΓÇÖt annoyed by customers that may need help. I hope to see this kind of employment more for this facility in the future.

Went there over the weekend with my fiancee to boar site in my rifle with a new scope on my ar 15. When we first arrived we stood there at the sign for 5 minutes while this old guy was gabbing with some young people discussing his bike ride. He finally let us in and I set up my gear while my fiance sat at the picnic table. The whole time while I was trying to sight in my rifle he was telling her innappropriate jokes and hitting on her. He also told us ( 4 other shooters) to talk to each other when we wanted to go out to change targets. There was no set time. It should have only taken me a half hour to sigh in my rifle, instead it took 3 hrs and and 6 sets of 5rds to sight it in. I asked to borrow a allen wrench and he kept asking for a tip the whole time. I worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections for 30 yrs and was one of there training officer for the range. This was porely ran and very unproffesional. Plus a RSO should never try and push the release button on a clip of a weapon when it is being held by me and asking if you have ever used this weapon before. I felt insulted and very irritated with this man Lewis. I will never come back here again. Let alone bring my fiance to a place where she was made to feel uncomfartable.

It is a well policed (supervised) place to shoot, as it should be, and the shooters that I have come across, all seem to respect the rules and follow them (at least when I go there). There is never any room for people to act any other way. That's why I like to shoot there.

I use to shoot sporting clays here at least once a week but for several reasons I no longer shoot here. It’s probably been a year since my last visit. Decided to give it another try today with a second year clays shooter (long time hunter). From a target only perspective, neither of us would come back. Island Lake and Grand Blanc have significantly better targets that are challenging and keep us coming back. Maybe it’s not like this all the time but today it was disappointing. My suggestion would be to toughen and make A’s and B’s on the ridge course the intermediate course and the C’s and D’s the tournament level course. The upland course can be for beginners. This would result in something similar to island lake. No changes needed to the executive course. Otherwise, this is a beautiful shooting venue and a friendly helpful staff. 8/14 Update: I returned here last week after a target reset because I was going to be in the area. Shot the Ridge course again. C/D targets were better than last time. I was actually impressed with how stations 11, 12 and 13 were set. The A/B targets were set to an intermediate skill level and the C/D targets were challenging. However, at nearly every station before those, the A/B targets were ridiculously easy. Two traps positioned very close to the station throwing EASY outgoing birds. A little imagination would go a long way towards making this facility somewhere I would shoot on a regular basis. This morning I shot 200 targets at the Grand Blanc Huntsman’s Club. I shot 175 targets there this past weekend and I will be going back there next week. The reason I’m driving over an hour each way and shooting so many birds…the targets. Creative, diverse and challenging targets. True pairs that are set as such that force me out of my comfort zone. Anyway, I thought I would update my review because this visit was a better experience than my previous visit. It’s just not enough to draw me back like other venues. 10/23 Update: Shot the Ridge course today with a friend. C/D targets were excellent. A/B targets were an improvement over prior visits. Executive course C/D targets were worthwhile as well.

Love the range but the RSO that yells at you for opening the gate after I just paid 18$ when it's a target change is too much for me. Overweight guy with mustache really needs a lesson in dealing with people. Won't be back didn't even stay to shoot just left . Went early afternoon August 23 not willing to deal with your employees attitude because he's on a power trip . Gave me crap over coming in the gate without his permission even though the range was clear and no shooting was happening . Guy gave me attitude last time I was there not worth $18 with him around. Been going there for years but no longer interested if he's working.

Looking for something outside of your normal shooting range? How about golf carts and multiple shooting stations? Located on a sprawling landscape of trees and field's each station is vastly different with clay pigeons coming from multiple angles. You can rent golf carts to take you around from station to station if you like but walking many people like the walk. They have a full on store inside with affordable to the most elaborate high end shotguns you can imagine. In case your inclined to skip the trails there are multiple stationary stands available as well. If you enjoy shooting or want to try it out without the pressure of having people around this is a perfect spot.
