Bay County Shooting Range

Q: What's the cost
A: What days are you open
- edward huggard (a year ago)
A: 1 my way
- James (2 years ago)
Q: Can we bring our 7 month old? We are dying to get in the range but we are military and do not have family or anyone we trust to leave our boy with.
A: Jeff can go but I wouldnΓÇÖt bring anyone more than that
- Matthew Shafer (3 years ago)
Q: What are the age requirements for the shotgun range
A: I dont think they have any as long as your child can handle a gun. Our son started shotting at 6 there with a 22 rifle and a ar 15
- J M (cammillers) (6 years ago)
A: No limit, must be with an adult.
- Rubine Samuel (6 years ago)
Q: What are the age restrictions for shooting? Also are there any age restrictions for a child to come watch?
A: I took my daughter(11) and son(13) shooting there a couple of times
- Concepcion Garcia Jr (7 years ago)
A: Only restrictions are ear and eye protection along with close supervision
- Steven Hayes (7 years ago)
A: I am avid shooter. I personally seen 8 yr old with grandfather. That was very well behaved and very safe operating her rifle.
- Preston Truklodyte (7 years ago)
A: I've seen ~13 year olds shooting 22ΓÇÖs with parental guidance. But i would imagine it depends on their ability to abide by and take instructions from the range office.
- Hosie Owens (7 years ago)
A: My son has been coming with me since he was 6 and shooting his Cricket rifle.
- Berean Analytics (6 years ago)
Q: Do they provide weapons or do you have to bring your own?
A: Either or. You can bring your own or they have some rentals available.
- Matt Thompson (a year ago)
Q: Will be there on vacation next month and saw your range. I compete in F class and would like to do some testing when there. Can I shoot prone at your range?
A: Great TY. Will stop by next month.
- Eric Douthitt (3 years ago)
A: Yes
- Brad Hurley (3 years ago)
Q: Do they have police or whomever to give you pointers? I'm a first time shooter. I have my own weapon. Thanks.
A: They have range officers who would be glad to help. There is a 10 minute video about weapon handling, safety etc on the range. Also just about anyone out there using the range will help you. It is sort of an unwritten rule and tradition among sportsmen and women to pass on knowledge, and further the sport among enthusiasts. For your information, do not bring the gun loaded (or with loaded magazine in it to range). Only load it at the station on pistol or rifle range.
- Leonard Bonamo (5 years ago)
A: Thanks! My gun is unloaded so all is well.
- Delia Avila (5 years ago)
Q: Are you open on Thanksgiving day?
A: I asked about this week's schedule and was told they would reopen on Friday, regular hours.
- John Dragoo (5 years ago)
Q: I would like to come with a group of 10 next month to shoot sporting clays. Do I need a reservation? Do you have 20g shotguns for rent, and if so, what is the charge for that? Is there a charge per shooter in addition to the targets they consume?
A: I shoot there occasionally. No reservations are required for sporting clays, although you might want to call ahead to make sure your date doesn't conflict with a tournament. They do have 20ga shotguns for rent (Browning I believe), but I don't know the cost. For sporting clays you per clay. There is no additional per shooter charge. You can also rent golf carts. The 18-stand loop is over a mile. It is a nice facility, owned by the county, and run by the state FWC.
- John Dragoo (5 years ago)
Q: Aside from skeet range for shotgun use, is there a range for general shooting of shotguns for slugs or buckshot?
A: They have an area beside one of the rifle ranges where they set up a target so you can sight in your shotgun or test your choke pattern. I don't know about shooting slugs from a shotgun. I'd just call and ask. They are very responsive to needs for all types of shooting sports.

Absolutely terrible experience. From the second we got there every staff member was nothing but rude. Made snarky remarks to my dad and kept grabbing our rifles to try and sight them in for us and all they did was make it worse. The older guy and the pistol range was the worst, I understand that we were there a little before closing however he took it personally. He asked me ΓÇ£how much ya shootingΓÇ¥ I figured he was talking about how many rounds I had, I told him about a thousand and he went off yelling ΓÇ£I DONT CARE HOW MUCH YOUR SHOOTING, HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE SHOOTING!ΓÇ¥ And another thing after he told us 2rnds a second, he repeated that he hopes we break the rule to kick us out and go home. So after only about. 4-5 mags we were fed up I dumped a mag, he went crazy and we went home. I highly recommend going somewhere else and me and my I will never be returning.

I used to love going to the gun range when it opened up. It was affordable and the staff was very knowledgeable. But now the gun range has become way to expensive. 17.50 to use the 100 yard and the 300 yard range? Way to expensive. One staff member has a nasty attitude and thinks he owns the place. My Dad is disabled and went to set his scope on 1-24-25 and after he sighted his rifle on the 100 yard range. Didn't feel like going to the 300 yard range. When he asked about a refund they got aggravated towards him and told him they didn't do refunds. On top of that one of the staff that thinks he runs the place acted like my Dad was lying about renting the gun sled for 3.00. Why do Bay county tax payers not get a discount to use the facility anyway??? Our Tax money is what runs the place. We will never be back. From the Start who ever design the place didn't know what they where doing. The roofs hold so much sound from shouting your gun it about jars your teeth out. It's built on a dump. But everyone acts like it's gold. It gets more expensive every year and it's got our last dime.

Surprisingly great range. A strict range, but you won't have to worry about getting shot by idiots, and the RSO do a great job. Can't beat the price either.

Local government subsidizes activity here. Ammo is basically as cheap as they bought it for. They have a pistol range, clay shooting and archery. They have a full clay shooting course and modified golf carts for it. Love this place

It was nice, the range masters were great and super helpful. It was $12 per person to shoot for the whole day. I wouldΓÇÖve given 5 stars but I just couldnΓÇÖt believe how rude the young girl at the front desk was. Had an attitude the second we even walked in the door. Literally rolling her eyes at us for even being there (god forbid we ask her how much for the clay targets). She changed her attitude when we stopped being so friendly and she got our money in her hand. Rolling her eyes and giving snappy replies at everything we asked or said. I donΓÇÖt normally leave reviews but I had to leave a review after the terrible experience with her. If it wasnΓÇÖt for the rest of our experience being so nice I would give 1 star.

1st time at the shooting range and so much to say. Highly recommended! If you suck at shooting, Steve the Range Master will help you shoot dead center, after a 5-minutes lesson. If you need a good laugh while waiting for the thunder to clear, the taller older Range Master will make you smile. Our rifle scope was out of alignment and the lady Range Master got all the tools and techniques. I was worried not remembering all the safety rules at the range; so nice the trained staff are cool and courteous when you have questions or forget the simplest thing. Enjoy the open countryside view. Well kept building. The staff are friendly and welcoming. THANK YOU

Range set up is great. If your a serious shooter be warned. No more than one shot per two seconds, stand behind the yellow line (if you need anything the range master will get it for you). Absolutely NO STAPLES??? (Someone could stick a finger, no silhouette targets period (someone may get offended). It could be a great place to shoot if it wasn't ran by Liberals from down south.

I was here on Monday 6/17, and my daughter and son-in-law with me. We used the pistol range, as well as the rifle range at 50 and 100 yards. As my scope on my .308 was recently remounted, I had not the opportunity to bore site it. Missy, a member of the staff there, was quite knowledgeable and helped me zero my scope. With her help, I was able to easily qualify for the 300 yard range, which I will use at another time. Bottom line, the staff we came across were all friendly, helpful and knowledgable which enhanced our good time here. If you’re thinking about using this facility, I highly recommend it. My sincere appreciation for the attention we enjoyed, and the time was great - I WILL be back at some point in the future. THANKS again, everyone…….it was great time we were able to enjoy for our Father’s Day weekend get-together!

My family LOVES this place! Missy is always helping us on the rifle range. She's an extremely knowledgeable and helpful RSO. Sergeant Steve had me hitting bullseye with ZERO prior pistol experience. My mom goes here more than most people go to happy hour, haha. Great professional staff, and $12 to shoot the entire day. Can't beat it!
