Bend of the River PSC

Q: do you have a skeet club for 14 yr olds
A: Your best bet is to call down there. I doubt the owners get online whatsoever.
- Chris Kirk (5 years ago)
Q: What is the fee to shoot here?
A: Last time I went it was $12
- Mr. Warpig (6 years ago)
Q: Does this range have a cross bow range
A: It does have room for bows so a crossbow would probably be fine. They're cool ppl there
- Mike Bolan (7 years ago)
A: It does have a bow (compound) for sure... I think you probably could practice with your cross bow... ..

I came to this place with an old rifle I bought I barely knew how to operate. They taught me everything I needed to know and more in a really kind way. Businesses like this are why I love TN. The owners here just want to teach you to operate firearms safely and enjoy firing them. They let me use their range and taught me how to shoot this particular firearm all for $10. It doesn't get better than that. Then they sold me clips for 20% of what they go for online. Great folk and this is the only outdoor range I will go to from now on.

Charlie and Nancy are very knowledgeable and kind people. If you think you know everything, don’t go there, bc it’s likely these folks have more knowledge than most and are not only totally focused on safety, but also in providing feedback to further, continue and improve the skill of shooting. This is not a high-tech range; so go here if you’re focused on actually practicing and learning. (And are happy with reasonable prices.👍)

Have been coming to this range for a few years and have had nothing but an amazing experience. Charlie and Nancy are two of the kindest and most knowledgeable people I have met in this sport. I have had my daughter in their BB program, sighted many pistols and rifles, put a lot of holes in paper, and taken in the wisdom that has been offered. I'm not new to this sport by any stretch but every time I have gone I have learned something new. Truly one of the greatest places I have had the pleasure to utilize and the owners drive that experience to the top. Anyone looking to learn or hone this craft needs to stop in and utilize this amazing resource.

I've had terrible luck coming here, whenever I come (during normal business hours) I'm told I can't shoot "today" for whatever reason and then they give me a card with business hours and leave scratching my head cause I'm there at the correct times, so I come back a other time and it's the same story and they give you a other card and tell you to co.e back cause you can't shoot "today" Going through the reviews I see the replies are just the same copay and paste ones

Good place to shoot. Covered 50yd pistol/rifle. Great people own the place. Extremely helpful and knowledgeable! I shoot here regularly. Reading some of the negative reviews. I'm former airborne infantry, law enforcement (swat, fto) and was a VERY active shooter. I've lost track of the number of times seeing operators operating operationally that thought they couldn't be taught anything come into the range and are crazy unsafe. When you show up to the range neither Charlie nor Nancy know your skillset. They get offended and huffy. I've seen shooters have accidents so don't think you are OBVIOUSLY (SMH) above making mistakes. Bad attitudes can get people killed on the range!

As an Eagle Scout, this place definitely reminded me of my Boy Scout days and has that Boy Scout camp feel to it. I personally enjoy that style. It's an outdoor range with VERY reasonable prices, especially during the time I went (2021). The staff are very comforting, like going to your Grandma and Grandpa's. The person who was working with was even offering marksmanship advice during my visit, so it almost felt like a 1-on-1 class, and that can be a good thing if you're like me and already know you need practice. Overall, I've only been once but if the weather is nice enough for you, I definitely recommend checking them out! :)

A great, low key, experience! I had to zero my gun and the owner helped me do it! The price is so cheap I almost feel bad for not offering to pay more. 10/10 will return.

Mr. Purdue is quite an amazing person. He is very accommodating when I take my daughter out to the range. He cares deeply about the next generation of shooter. This isnΓÇÖt a high tech range of your max distance is 50 yards, but thatΓÇÖs all you need for most handguns and small rifle calibers. I would highly recommend this range to anybody. The people are very nice and knowledgeable. YouΓÇÖre able to shoot skeet hand gun/rifle and bow. Also if you want fairly good price and IΓÇÖll go see Mr. Purdue I have had great luck finding ammunition at a good price from him. The last thing IΓÇÖll say is if you shoot an oddball cartridge or want to get into reloading. I would definitely check out Bend of the River, because he wants new shooters in the shooting sports and to reload, he will try to teach you as much as he can or reference you to good books with not a bunch of filler so that you can learn the craft.

I visited the range with some 1st time shooters and we all had a great time. Everyone learned safety and shooting skills. The range officer was wonderful with kids and adults and had everyone hitting the targets.

This place isn't the best maintained shooting range you will ever visit, however it has its perks. It is far more affordable than Outdoor Junction, and they offer skeet and trap shooting. You can shoot rifles, handguns, and bows up to about 50 yards. Nothing fancy; walk out, pin your target up. All outdoor, nothing automated.

Even though this place isnΓÇÖt quite what it used to be aesthetically, it gets the job done! Super helpful owners, they even helped me sight in my new red dot. Limited to 50 yards, so donΓÇÖt go expecting long range targets and high tech gadgetry. Old school gun range with your own backyard type feel.

Decent outdoor range, not long distance by any means. The shop is very mom and pop style in what appears to be an old meeting hall type building. Fee was reasonable and the range officer was very nice and helpful when I was there, he even provided a spotting scope without me even prompting which was very kind. Good for sighting in, testing things out, or just getting in a little range time.

There are several negative reviews on here but I didn't have any trouble at all. In fact one of the older range officers were very helpful to me. They have range rules. One of which is when the range is cold you have to immediately open the action, place a safety flag through it and step away from your weapon. Just basic range rules and Gun safety. If you ignore the rules they will let you know for sure. Continue and you will be told to leave. No responsible gun owner should have a problem with that. I really enjoyed my time there

Experienced and knowledgeable folks here who make everyone feel welcome. Country home feeling everytime I walk in the door. Uncompromised SAFETY is the highest priority here. What more could you ask for?

This is a great shooting range just a little north of Cookeville, TN. Very reasonably priced. Very friendly owners. Mom and pop kind of place. They have a small hunting supply store that was very well stocked last time I was there.. They do the TN carry class at a very good price. Definitely worth checking them out.

This isn't a quality shooting range. Targets are yellowed with age, store is overlay with settled smoked, and staff doesn't much care if you are there. Been here a few times and out of those times the clay piegon throwers havent worked or only threw a short distance. Maybe you will have better luck but I havent enjoyed a single experience.

I stopped in today to sight in a new AR-15. I paid my range fee and bought some targets. I went down to the rifle range and set my stuff down on the range bench. This is where problems started. One of the employees came over and told me quote " move that trash" so I moved it on down well apparently that wasn't good enough so he proceeded to pick my gear up including my weapon and moved it down further. I let that go and didn't say anything about it. Well it came time to shoot. Now I'm an army veteran and currently a law enforcement officer so I know how to shoot and sight in a weapon. Well Everytime I would shoot I would hear one or two people tell me the corrections to make. First don't touch my stuff especially my weapon unless you ask me, second don't call my stuff trash, it may not be as nice as some stuff you have but I guarantee I have stuff in my collection that is nicer and worth more than stuff in yours. Third I'm not a 17 year old basic trainee I know how to sight my weapon in and it's not done after each single shot. Positive side attention to safety was great range is nice but that's about it
