Black Butte Range

We have enjoyed our experience at the range. A few times needed some help with my pistol & there was staff who assisted with no problem. Hoping the range re-opens soon, we always carry I want to keep skills sharp, so have to practice.

The range is okay, i just have a problem with the gun cleaning, I just purchased a saint victor .. brand new ,. Shot their once; and got it cleaned right after. I went back to get my fire arm and thereΓÇÖs noticeable scrapes on my halosun sight(which is brand new) and my rifle was full of scratches on the paint like someone was banging it against something, IΓÇÖm not tryna hurt no oneΓÇÖs business but I love the quality of my firearms to be as I brought them. The reasoning of me paying for the service. Shot and cleaned my Glock multiple times and never had issues with any gun cleaner leaving dents and scratches on my fire arm . Due to me leaving my firearms in my many different homes , I always get them clean cause I donΓÇÖt fire them for months- maybe years . So when the paint is damaged, it makes it hard for me to return. Just be wary , clean your own guns!!

Wonderful experience! I'm going to take up lessons with one of the instructors, Sarah, in the fall. Pretty wonderful lady! Her and Andrew, the owner, shared their snacks with my little one as we watched my family shoot. They both spent time talking with me and educating me on my million questions that I had. I truly felt like I was with family. Mind you, it was very slow with only one or two other people in the range, so I had them all to myself. The time spent being educated by Andrew was pretty great. What he does for the community is much more than own a store. He dedicates his time to helping law enforcement, teachers, and others learn how to defend themselves. I will continue to patronize here because of the person Andrew is and what he believes in. He is worth supporting.

I cannot say enough about the guys at black butte. I took my 1911 that admittedly wasn't in the best shape in for service. It was a gift from a friend that has since passed. I was given no judgment whatsoever. Both the gentlemen were wonderful. Jerome treated my firearm with deft hands and the utmost respect. I actually decided to purchase a micro compact while i was there. Jerome vets all the firearms in the shop and is extremally knowledgeable and passionate about firearms and our 2a rights. Spoke to me with respect and dignity. I learned an exceptional amount from him while waiting for the alphabet crew to get back to him. They have earned a lifelong customer. I cant wait to go and pick up my firearm and very soon take some of his classes. Thank you again. Exemplary service!!!

This is a great place to visit! The staff are friendly and very helpful! The range is very well maintained, clean and well lit! ItΓÇÖs a must when in Billings!

The guys at Black Butte Range are all Combat Vets. They are knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful. Their range facilities are the best in the state.

The guy who was running the register 10/28/22 is an absolute a$$. Zero customer service. Talks really fast and acts like he's taking a fast food order. Not sure what his deal is but the worst pi$$ poor attitude and no friendliness at all. This is only the second time I've been there and I'll not be going back as this is the second time I've delt with this tool.

Well To Start I Normally just use them for Transfers Because they are the Best at It. Quick Simple No Headache No Standing around Waiting for 45 minutes while some guy You Don't Know is Playing With your new Firearm. Now Jerome Hall That guy is Super Helpful, Knowledgeable Makes the Whole Process Easy and He Treats you and your Firearm With respect whether its a Transfer Or you're at The Range Jerome's Your Guy For Quality service.

Took my rifle in for a scope reset and what i thought was a 200 yds sight in. Went to range 2 days after I got it back shot at 200 yds wasn't even on paper. Took it to the 100 yd range barely on bottom 2inches of the target. I had to bring it up 10.75 MOA left 4 MOA to hit center at 200 yds. Disappointed because seems like scheels and cabelas could get me that close and they do it for free usually.

The owner has to be one of the rudest people I have ever met! No wonder you see so many complaints about rude behavior by employees. I still have a gift card from there that I will never use because of how bad the treat customers. Please Somebody buy this range from the current tyrant owner!
