Questions & Answers

Q: Do you need 4WD to get to this?

A: No, but it is highly recommended. The access road tends to get washed out, so a high clearance vehicle is best if you don't have a 4x4. I also wouldn't recommend going out if it has rained recently without a 4x4. Access the area from US 95 if you don't have a 4x4.

Q: is it currently open?

A: The area that is BLM land is open. The area closest to US 95 is US Army land, and is not open to recreational shooting, though you will see people and trash there saying otherwise. The area marked by the pin is BLM land. There is also Arizona State Trust land to the west, which is not open to target shooting.

Q: Do you bring your own guns or do they have guns you can pay to use?

A: This was an active range used by the military. Its is no longer a range. People go out and shoot there.

Wish people didn’t shoot glass and leave their trash there, but a great place to shoot… just keep aware of what happens around you.

Open range. Shoot into a ravine bank. Be sure what is in the direction you are shooting. Not an organized range. Go at your own risk. Remember you are responsible for your fired rounds. P

This used to be an old Arizona National Guard shooting range with berms out to 600m. The pits where the target carriages is still there but it's full of trash and graffiti. It's first found on maps from 1961 but could possibly be older.

Always a great place to shoot. You can park anywhere you want. But if you are handicap it is very difficult to get to. No handicap parking!!!!

Awesome unofficial range. Make sure to clean up after yourself and donΓÇÖt do anything crazy or stupid. Plenty of berms and not too far off the local road and freeway.

You need to go off road to get there. Lots of dunes and hills to use as a backstop for shooting. Be careful as you can hear bullets ricochet from other people shooting!

This is an ideal spot for serious shooters. You must supply everything you'll need..... Just like the real world. From the basics like target stands to firearms.

Good place to shoot. Some people set up in sketchy places at the entrance, head further in for the good spots with longer range.
