Questions & Answers

Q: Can you do tactical stuff here or are you pretty confined to one direction down range and no movement?

A: Once you have a pit pass, you can use one of the outdoor pits. As a pit member, you can set up targets as you want. There are target stands (you provide your own targets), tables and barrels for use in the pit. As long as you are pointing downrange, not past the max firing line (which is marked in every pit) and you aren't breaking your own 180 past the firing line, you can pretty much set up your own stages as you want. You can't get tactical to where you're shooting out of a car or something like that, but all those rules are explained in the pit pass safety training and skills demonstration.

Q: How much exactly would i need to start a membership here also, are you able to do movement and transition drills, or static standing in one position range?

A: The membership is about $240 a year you can pay it upfront or in monthly payments of like $20 I believe. It's all available on the website if you just Google Bluegrass Sportsmen's League and should pop up with information that will let you get a membership. Then all you need to do is attend one of the orientations there every Wednesday at 6 and twice a month on Saturdays the calendar of events will show you what days are coming up. We have an area called the Practical shooting pits which allows you to set up barriers and obstacles so you can transition in any way that you need to train.

I've been a Member of BGSL since 2012, and have enjoyed the General Purpose, Shotgun and the Advanced Rifle ranges at least once a week since then! Have just Qualified for the Pistol Pits so that adventure now awaits. The Range Safety Officers are the Best. I look forward to chatting with them and also meeting and talking with other Members as well every chance I get. I was suggested to take up reloading early on and I've not looked back! SO MUCH FUN!

They really need to train their employees on customer service. Went today, to trap shoot and no one was at the front desk. When I asked someone if anyone was working, he called Nick to come up there. When Nick arrived, we could immediately tell he was going to be rude. He asked if we were with USPCA and we said no, he rolled his eyes and said technically we arenΓÇÖt open, but what do you need. We said sorry to be a burden we will leave. He tried to protest and say we could have a lane. We just left. This makes multiple times weΓÇÖve had issues here. Guess itΓÇÖs time to find a new place. Very disheartening!

Hope things have changed.. I was a member back in the 90s I know it's been a long time.I joined payed my membership in full I was told I was a owner because my membership dues helped pay the property taxes was also told the procedes of the farming on site was to be paid to the members in the form of a check when the hay roll bails where sold I never got a check.if anyone can update me on this I sure would like to know what this was about I had Heard that some people got into trouble over this back then i thought maybe it was to boost membership perks.. otherwise it's a great place.

I love the Wilmore range and take EVERYBODY I can!! Suggest everybody else to go out as well. The company itself deserves 5 stars, unfortunately thereΓÇÖs certain people over certain areas out there that greatly reduce the quality. For over 6 months I paid for a service that I was denied access to and when I inquired I was told to pay more money and heΓÇÖd be happy to send me what I had previously already paid for. To much to go into here but be careful when joining certain leagues, to clarify. He knew there was an issue but chose to ignore it until us members contacted him. Unprofessional in my opinion but IΓÇÖm just an idiot on the internet Lol

Went here for a practice round b4 tournament. Wasn't impressed at all. Course was decent but alot of the throwers were out of clays. Sum didn't work. When we called to get clays put in they said we will get on it. We'll they did when we got to stand 15. The last stand of the course. This is the reason for 3 stars only on this place. Elk creek sporting clays is a much better choice for shooting in my opinion. Plus they have a winery to boot

You wonΓÇÖt find many places like this in Central Kentucky. (Almost) whatever firearm you choose to practice with, thereΓÇÖs a place for you. Not to mention fishing, official competitions, a long range (test required for approval), some hiking, and more. There are more than 1500 acres here for you to explore your sporting activity of choice safely. Annual memberships are very reasonably priced.

Nice place if you live in the area because they have everything down there and hundreds of acres of land to shoot.

Really neat facility with a lot to offer. We went to shoot clays. Very friendly and helpful lady took care of us. We were set up with a gun, shells, and sent out. I will say there is a lot of assumption handing this out. We had shot before and weΓÇÖre familiar with gun safety but had we not been it might have been boarder line dangerous for everyone there. ItΓÇÖs all posted. If youΓÇÖve not shot seriously do review it. Because youΓÇÖre out there alone aside from others down the way. You need to be safe. The stations were fun to shoot at. Nice variety. IΓÇÖd definitely go back.
