Brandywine Public Range

Nice free to use public range courtesy of the USFS and WVDNR. There is no RSO and no cell coverage. 40 minutes hard driving to the nearest hospital. Shoot safe and communicate when hot and cold. 100yd rifle with string posts at 25, 50, 75, and 100. You can set targets to about 115 if you bring a stand. String is often shot up so wise to bring your own string along with your cardboard. Rifle has covered bench and ambi shooting benches. Pistol is a single 25yd bay with 3 rests. Pistol bay has a thriving PI patch on the right side. It can get busy and exciting with many newbies or just casual safety attitudes resulting in flagging. Be safe folks.

Love this range, I just wish people would take better care of it considering itΓÇÖs free! Nice wide open rifle range out to 100ish yards with covered shooting benches. Also has a pistol range, but IΓÇÖve not used it IΓÇÖll be bringing a broom and dustpan on my next visit.

Great little gem in the middle of the woods. Thank you to the NPS staff and Boy scouts for maintaining the facility. Ignorant trashy (literally) people apparently go here often. I certainly don't want a surveillance State, but I wish that the people who leave their trash and shoot at facility infrastructure (trash cans, roof over benches, signage, etc) were held responsible for their actions.

Nice range. Really nice considering it is free. It can get busy. Go early or late if you prefer fewer target practitioners. Please clean up after yourself.

IF YOU ARE READING THIS BETWEEN JAN 1 AND MAY 1ST, THEY ARE CLOSED FOR THE SEASON. This range is FREE. There's a donation bin to support this range. Bring your own targets and PLEASE clean up after yourself! There's no cleanup crew! I had a lot of fun at this range! It's nice and quiet. There are about 8 slots. The people that go there are friendly. There's no service up there so I'd advise letting family/friends know that prior to going up there. The ride had a bunch of quick turns up and down the mountain so take it slow if you get car sick! Overall, this experience was very enjoyable. I cannot wait until May 2nd!

Have never had any issues. Trash cans are usually full. This range is relatively not busy and there has always been an open table.

I gave it 1 star because I drove 26 miles on the holiday of the 4th of July just to find it closed for regular maintenance. Typical poor planning by the incompetent state authority.

It really is a nice range. There is a vault toilet and another two miles down 33, you have a gas station, Fox's pizza and a dollar store. The real problem is people bring television, motor parts, toilets anything else to shoot, they'll even use the forest service trash cans and then light them on fire...and it all gets left. It's like anywhere, our behavior ruins it

Nice place, rifle range is covered and there's a bathroom on site. If you go just please try and pick up your brass, I'm bringing a broom next time.

Beautiful covered range with no charge. There is a pistol and rifle range. The rifle range is covered and goes out to 100 yards.

Great place to get in some target practice. But it is only open May 2nd - Decemeber 31st, so it is currently closed as of today April 11, 2021.. just an FYI

This is an awesome place! Please clean up after yourself, clean up after other people.  Where else can you shoot for free? Don't give them any reason to shut this down.

Loved it nice benches loved hiw they had it where you could shoot left handed because sometimes its realy hard to go to certain places

What a great place! Free and open to the public. Its hard to pick up your brass though as the floors are dirt. So thankful for a public free place to go and practice safely. Please donate $5 so it'll stay open!!
