Bristlecone Shooting, Training, & Retail Center - Shooting Range in Denver
Shooting range featuring an armory selling a range of gun equipment as well as offering training.

Q: What is the pricing for the range? I cannot find anything on the website.
A: It's $20 for most, a bit less for students, educators, first responders, etc., and they used to have a deal on one day of the week where women don't pay but I'm not sure on that one.

The introduction to pistol course was very informative and made me far more comfortable with firearms and safety. I was a complete novice and walked out knowing what itΓÇÖs like to handle a firearm and how to do it safely.

Turned away unable to rent guns when unaccompanied. I go to ranges all over the country. This is the first time I have seen a policy like this. I have my concealed carry. Like I travel 1000 miles to harm myself in your range. Blanket policy is stupid.

**Edit: one star because of the combative response from the owner. Clearly they care more about being argumentative then improving the experience at their store. The issue was communication, not waiting, and now it's apparent why they struggle with communication because whoever is running the show likes to argue and has something to prove.** Either they could staff more people or train their current employees. My partner and I were here being helped by Jackson and he walked away from us several times to help different people who weren't even in the store yet when we had first been approached. Had there been a delay or reason to having helped other guests, that must be communicated to your customers. We later found out it was due to paper work being processed and how busy the store is but again communication needs to be had. Thankfully Jade was kind and communicated effectively and is the sole reason this review isn't 1 star.

Highly recommend. I was impressed with this place from a LGBTQ lens. The atmosphere is not overly oppressive like some shops. There's some room for growth with language; but when I asked Pancho if he wanted to improve some of his word choice, he was immediately receptive and, once I explained, very enthusiastic about changing it. That said! I did the "personal shopper" / Find my Gun 1:1 class with Pancho Harpham - it was everything I wanted! He was so kind and made me feel incredibly comfortable in the space and with the vast range of handguns I tried that day. I didn't feel rushed at all and walked out with a great list of all the guns I tried, ranked, and with options for customization. My concealed handgun class was with Steve MacGregor - also highly recommend. The class did a fantastic job covering situational awareness and practical application of the reality of carrying a concealed weapon. Steve is a great instructor - he made everyone feel included, even as we came from different backgrounds and levels of comfort with firearms.

First impressions matter and wow did your team just make a terrible one. I understand itΓÇÖs Saturday morning and you got busy when doors first opened, but I stood next to the handguns for over 40mins without any acknowledgment. While your sales associate gave a full blown firearms lesson to an elderly Californian couple that could have googled half their questions. Acting like theyΓÇÖve never even seen a handgun before in their lives. I was prepared to purchase a handgun you had in stock and wanted to order another if possible (couldΓÇÖve been an easy $3K sale.) I didnΓÇÖt even get a ΓÇ£sir IΓÇÖll be with you in a moment.ΓÇ¥ I didnΓÇÖt even get a ΓÇ£hey how are ya today.ΓÇ¥ Simply ignored me. The sales associate could have stepped away to answer the TWO questions I had between the millions the other couple had, but didnΓÇÖt. Looked right at me and ignored me. The other associate who was finally freed up then left the area to check people out for memberships. Seems youΓÇÖd rather educate the ignorant and put memberships over firearm sales. IΓÇÖll never be back to you folks. And I fear your range if these are your typical customers, completely ignorant and uneducated in firearms and safety. I guess IΓÇÖll literally take my money elsewhere. What a joke.

My only complaint is that I wish I lived closer!! Took the Intro to Pistols course and Steve was amazing. He gave helpful tips and guidance to those in the class who needed it (myself included). The store felt welcoming, and the staff was knowledgeable. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is interested in learning more about guns and gun safety. This place is worth the hour drive to get to.

My boyfriend and I had come during our long weekend to shoot, and letΓÇÖs just say this place is top tier in every sense of the word. Fantastic facility, great firearm selection to rent from, and most importantly, great people. They were so kind, helpful, and transparent in every way. Very welcoming environment to all shooters regardless of experience. WeΓÇÖll absolutely be back!!

I did a CCP class with instructor Steve M last week, and what a fantastic experience! We had about 12 people in our class, and Steve made everyone feel welcome and comfortable, no matter their experience (several had only very minimal experience, which was just fine!). Steve was extremely knowledgeable, funny, and relatable. In addition to the CCP curriculum, we also discussed situational awareness, human behavior, etc. All super interesting stuff and I really learned a lot! At the end of the class we all went to the range, and went through several drills. IΓÇÖve been shooting off and on for many years, but I still learned a lot and Steve was able to improve my accuracy with some great tips! If you are interested in concealed carry or any other class (they have a huge variety to choose from), I HIGHLY recommend Steve and Bristlecone. Super nice folks that truly make all feel welcome!

Justin, Tristen and Jade were absolutely brilliant to work with. They went above and beyond with their knowledge and expertise on everything. They stayed after hours on a Sunday night to help work out the glitches with the paperwork. Justin then reached out on Monday to follow up with everything. Overall experience was great!

Came is as a first time firearm purchaser and was treated amazingly. Every other shop IΓÇÖve been to talked down to me for not being well educated, where as the staff here were incredibly kind knowledgeable and helpful. They cared that I was well informed about my purchases. Justin, Jade and Scott helped me through the process and made it run incredibly smoothly! Highly recommend anyone check this place out. Very excited to take classes here in the near future.

Attended a womenΓÇÖs intro to pistol class here last night with our instructor, Luis, whose incredibly supportive approach and practical tips made it a much more natural and enjoyably engaging evening. Would absolutely take another class from Luis again! I hope there are womenΓÇÖs pistol 2 classes so I have somewhere to go next after I practice more!

Really awesome LGS. Their retail center has a solid selection with decent prices, but their courses are where they really shine. Pro tip - if you have the choice, take a class with Filipp. HeΓÇÖs a great instructor who does an awesome job of keeping everyone in the room engaged, and you can tell he works hard to create a comfortable learning environment both in the classroom and on the range.

My wife and I have taken three Shot Gun courses, Shot Gun 1 & Shot Gun 2, and Shotgun Downrange Practicum with Philipp. He obviously has a lot of expertise with shotguns and is a great, funny, patient and supportive teacher. Both my wife and I were utter newbies to shotguns and we have felt safe, and encouraged, and are looking forward to moving into trap a skeet when weather permits. Overall Bristlecone is a great shooting center with a hepful staff, but if you get a chance, make sure to do some Shotgunning with Philipp!!! To quote Philipp, 'the Shot Gun is not just a simple scattergun, it is a thinking man's gun' and he'll make you a believer.

I took Intro to Pistol with Luis and highly recommend! Before the course, I had zero experience and zero confidence using a gun, and LuisΓÇÖs instruction was so clear and helpful (and he was so patient!) and helped me feel so much more comfortable understanding how guns work and how to properly use one. Definitely 10/10!

Great experience at Bristlecone today. Decided to take a WomenΓÇÖs intro to pistols class and it was extremely helpful to building more confidence and learning all safety aspects of my gun. What made the class even better was the instructor Cindy Coker. I was definitely nervous for the class and Cindy was incredibly thorough, extremely patient and very knowledgeable. Really appreciated Cindy able to be so calming during small malfunctions on my end. It was great being with all Women and highly recommend this class to anyone wanting to further their basic knowledge and confidence on handling a gun.

Just finished an introductory pistol training course with Luis Deschamps as the instructor. What an amazing experience! Luis instructed the class seamlessly & was extremely knowledgeable. He made it super easy to learn & made it fun. All the staff members on hand were very courteous & friendly. All of them eager to help and asking if I needed assistance. It was my first visit there and rest assured I will be back for more courses & retail purchases. Thank you Bristlecone and Louis for making my first venture into pistol ownership an amazing one. Keep up the great work! David Vazquez
