Brunner Range

Q: Is this range open to the public ? Do you have to be a member of the rod and gun club? If so, Any tips on going thru the front gate with firearms in your vehicle? Are there pistol, rifle and shotgun ranges?
A: This is a shotgun range only. They do rent shotguns if you do not have your own. You can also borrow hearing and eye protection, and a shell bag if you forgot your own, and you can purchase ammunition there. No membership is required, but you will pay a little more to shoot a round there than if you are not a member. If you are visiting, and want to bring your own firearm, you must register it at the visitor center which is near the Army National Guard (35th ID HQ) building just after you cross the blue bridge over the Missouri.

A: It is a public range. Take your guns information make, model as ssn, to the guest relation center at the Sherman gate at the north end of 4th street. Get your guest pass while you register your gun. It is a skeet, trap and five stand range for shotgun only. As of right now we do not have an open rifle or handgun range for the public.

Enjoyed going here over the weekend with my son. You can rent shotguns and purchase ammo on site. The reps who run the range also provide excellent instruction if you are new.

Great little range and you can't beat the price! $2 a day is better than anyplace I've seen. We go here nearly every weekend during the warmer months.

This is an excellent shooting facility. With an abundance of helpful and friendly staff who work hard to ensure you have a good experience on the range. If you want coaching they have an experienced teacher there to help you FREE of charge. They also have plenty of rental guns. The first Saturday of every month they run a fun shoot which includes 50 Clays + guaranteed prize + your lunch. Everything at the range is competitively priced and I don't think you'll find more affordable clay pigeons in Kansas or Missouri.

This is a good range but it is closed indefinitely right now. Might have something to do with all of the cement and first being dumped in the clay fields. Too bad they had to ruin this one little gem we had on post.

The staff here works hard to accommodate everyone that walks through the door. Someone can show up without anything and can rent, buy, or borrow everything needed to have a great shooting experience. They have high quality certified range personnel that aren't afraid to help coach you. I spent a lot of time and this place, and it is the one thing I miss the most about my time at Fort Leavenworth. I make it a point to go there every time I am close.
