Drove half an hour to take my son shooting for the first time to find the range closed with no explanation. IΓÇÖd checked the website before coming and it said they were open as did their recorded message on their phone line.

It's a beautiful range but the staff kinda ruins it. I'm all about safety, and I have no problem following the rules but it's a little extreme here. It's way over the top, and most of the staff is rude. I've been to more gun ranges then I care to count, none were this ridiculous. The range officers talk to you like your five years old. I don't recommend this place, nor will I return. Your mileage may vary.

This range is amazing! It is clearly set up with hunters in mind. We hunters take our time and make every shot count. They also have a pistol side where you can practice the fundamental's. This is NOT somewhere to mag dump, bump fire, hip draw, etc). They also have targets there so you donΓÇÖt need to bring anything more than maybe some ΓÇ£shoot n seeΓÇ¥ stickers. Please donΓÇÖt show up thinking youΓÇÖre someone so important you donΓÇÖt have to follow SIMPLE rules. No one else has time for that. Always one guy up there wants to argue with the staff. Plenty of ranges offer different options so do your homework first.

Don't listen to the 1 star reviews, most of them you can tell by reading them they didn't follow the VERY SIMPLE rules of the range to stay safe. I've never had a negative experience here and when it comes to my safety around other people with guns, I don't care how rude the staff is towards someone that isn't following the rules, let them have it so they get it. There's a very informative short video showing on the TV in the lobby that literally shows you what to do, i recommend watching it on your first visit. I've enjoyed every visit to this range and will continue to use it and recommend others use it.

I've always rather liked this range. I know many are unhappy with the rules, but it's less bothersome when you consider the rules are there to keep everyone safe. Bottom line is, there are people of all skill levels using this range, so better safe than sorry. The cost to shoot is very low, and you have a lot more distance to work with. I've enjoyed some of the trap shooting/shotgun courses they offer to introduce friends to the sport. The instructors were friendly enough, and quite patient with the groups.

I love this range . Great safety procedures and very nice and helpful range officers. One came up to me and offered me some really good tips. I was always nervous to mount my target at the unmanned ranges but here they have great safety procedures. ItΓÇÖs also super reasonable range fees.

This is a great shooting range. I have visited it quite a few times in the past prior to the updating and some on the new one. Top notch and i have no issues with safety concerns they have brought forward. Keep the good work going!

Worst range ever. Telling me how to shoot my own gun and only give you a few minutes to shoot. Can't even leave without them telling you and you have 5 minutes to pack everything. Treating me like a child. They have no respect for anyone there and no common sense of how to run a shooting range. What they say isn't for anyone's safety it's just to piss you off.

Great range. Well run with excellent safety protocols. Staff was very friendly and helpful. $4.00/hr going up to $5.00 in November- Great value!

Staff treated me like a child, I didn't appreciate it. I've been shooting since I was a kid and safety is number one on my list since I have taught all 5 of my children to shoot and be safe. Next time talk to me and others with respect and I might respond kindly.

The range is well laid out but the range nazis spoil the experience. Why in the heck is a silhouette target so Darned un-PC that it canΓÇÖt be used? ItΓÇÖs just a silhouette - not a picture of the President! One round per 3 seconds? Why? How about every shot must be aimed instead of a time limit. No holster draw? You are in a booth by yourself so why not? OK, IΓÇÖll say one good thing, it is very reasonable at $4 per hour.

Perfect range for getting optics sighted in or shooting for accuracy out to 100 yards. Each booth has a bench and an X Block on the 100 yard range, never been to the 50 yard pistol range but likely has the same or similar. Unlike everything else in the last couple years, the price hasn't changed, it is still only $4 for an hour of range time.

This is a very clean and safe range. All of the employees I came in contact with were polite and professional. My wife and I will be going back.

It's tough to recommend this place. Being one of the only 100-yd ranges though makes it somewhat of a necessity for distance shooting. They'll go crazy if you fire more than once every fifteen minutes or so, and they'll get mad if you bring the wrong rounds. The bullet itself could be made of brass, lead, foam, anything- 'it'll damage our range'. Maybe the conservation funds need to go into training staff to realize steel cartridges have zero impact on what the bullet does. The icing on the cake is that you need cash or a check. In 2023 AD there is no way to accept card payment. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Sometimes the range master guys here are a little hard core on the rules and things but in a way thatΓÇÖs good. I have brought many beginners here and safety is number one

This is the cheapest place to shoot but there are too many rules. 1 shot every 3 seconds, one gun on the bench is also kind of ridiculous. Then the RSO who I dealt with kept bothering me over the most trivial things like briefly cleaning my safety glasses. You are better off spending your money at Ultimate Defense you don't have to deal with this nonsense.

Facility is nice and well setup, the staff ruined it for us though. Got yelled at just walking to our booth during a cease fire, apparently that's the wrong time to move to your booth..? Doesn't make sense but whatever. Then some high school kid employee starts giving us all these silly rules about targets size and position and color blah blah. Kid was an annoying know-it-all when it came to the guns, surprised we even made it that far.. They definitely take safety serious which is great, but that kid created an unsafe and uncomfortable environment to shoot in. I don't need some kid harrasing me when I'm operating a gun.

Beautiful gun range, nice people and they are well qualified to assist you. Pictures below show 5" and 3" guns firing to shore in Vietnam. The 5" fired a projectile 18 miles with 20 lbs power

These people insisted I had steel core FMJ rounds when the description on the site I bought them from clearly States lead and would not let me shoot my rifle. This cartridge is loaded with a 122 grain bimetal jacketed bullet: lead core, soft steel jacket with a thin copper-washed exterior. Apparently that's steel core

Awesome bow range and broadhead range; seems useless with these fall hours. If youΓÇÖre a working person, the broadhead range isnΓÇÖt open when you need it, leading into deer season. Seems like the broadhead range should be open for use, after 5pm on weekdays, all the way into Nov 15th. Would give it 5stars otherwise, but itΓÇÖs useless to me now (early Sept ).

Awesome facility and a great staff focused on safety and helping in any way you might need. We're fortunate to have such a world class facility within a 30 minute drive of almost anywhere in st louis and st charles county. Great work! Mark

Wonderful facility and staff. Everyone is friendly and eager to help. Testing out a new lever action 45-70 with some very powerful loads (600 gr) and experienced one jammed spent casing. The staff was super friendly and willing to help clear the casing and make sure everything was in safe working order. A bit of a drive for me at 30-min, but I will definitely be going back.

This review goes for both busch and jay henges shooting ranges. Is it affordable, yes. Is it one of the only 100 yard ranges in St. Louis area, also yes. My problem is that these ranges do not have their ammunition policy readily available. There is no way of knowing that your ammo is usable on this range unless you personally do a magnet check on it. I drove 40 minutes to the range only to learn that I was going to have to physically separate an ammo can of around 200 rounds and leave the ones that triggered the magnet behind. They did not trust me to shoot the ammo they approve of, and they did not offer to help. Instead I got a smirk from the supervisor. The facilities are incredible, but you better only bring the perfect ammo with you, otherwise you're in for a headache.
