I review food exclusively but need to give my two cents on how awful my experience was trying this place out due to the good reviews. Upon entering, you are greeted by the cashier, Roger who was great, to rent out only 1 round shotgun that they have, $110 later including 100 rounds. I met Bob or Dylan. Bob is an Older guy with a white cowboy hat who is terrible at customer service and he even said "I'm usually not the guy outside the range but they are short-handed today". Bob, I could not agree with you more considering you make any beginner/ intermediate gun user feel frustrated. Telling Bob I was a beginner was the worst mistake I have made besides coming to this range because he was micromanaging me(see photo of him staring) worse than Karen in a fast food restaurant. He even went to talk to my girlfriend behind my back to tell her to tell me to clean up after myself even though I told him I would AFTER I was done shooting. The targeting system was terrible considering I lost $30 worth of trap skeet targets because I was activating the sound pull system after Bob didn't tell me it works via sound. If you are not over the age of 50 and don't have 20 years of experience shooting, they don't want you here. 0/1000.

This place is absolutely great. It offers trap, skeet, 5 stand, and sporting clays. It also has an excellent gun shop and gunsmith. Everyone is helpful and friendly. The sporting clays range is especially cool. Get your shotgun and go!

After being involved with the firearm industry for 48 years I can honestly say that Tom Forbes in the club's Pro Shop is one of the most knowledgeable firearms authorities that I know.

Five of us came in for some trap shooting. Staff was very friendly and helpful. During our shoot my gun was having issues. I took it up to Tom in the pro shop, he disassembled it, cleaned it and found an improper O-ring installed. Works flawlessly now. Thank you Tom!

I drove from Sparks to Carson City just to go to the gun range, I got there the manager on duty said he had Lane five for me, some people complained a little bit about the microphone not working, the gentleman that maintains the range said it was fine, so I took that lane, was not impressed, the gentleman that was running the range, had come over and work on the mic, I started my next round I got 12 shots in and my mics wouldn't work again, I change positions at the different lane that wouldn't work, so I went back and handed the fob to the manager, and said you're right it's a P.O.S., he wanted to give me back a token but I thought nah you keep it it might help you pay for upgrading your equipment. Pissed off in sparks

Love going here. The staff is always supportive and not overbearing. They have store inside that isn't overpriced, which is great when you forget something you need.

Great and helpful staff, great service. Limited shotgun selection for rental, but I'm no gun aficionado, so it made no difference to me.

Come up to Carson City from SoCal once a year and shoot a couple of days at Cap City. Typically interesting layout of targets, though they could change them a bit more (or maybe I'm just catching the same targets as they are rotated through). Equipment works, people are nice, prices are good.

I like going here. ..nice people, nice facilities , and has never been overly busy. My only knock would be is that this ranges fees run a little high compared to other nice places I have shot at. I would recommend raising the annual membership fee and lowering the daily use fees.
