Questions & Answers

Q: Can you fire from a prone unsupported postion here with a rifile? I wish to practice zeroing and grouping an m4.

A: No

- Zach Goldsmith (8 months ago)

A: Former Fire Arms instructor and PMI, where to you apply to be a range safety officer?

- JR K (a year ago)

A: Yep he's right

- Aaron Hughey (5 years ago)

Q: What is the process for qualifying on the 100 yd range to have access to the 200 yd range?

A: It is 3 out of 5 on a 6" target with an officer watching.

- Jerry Scandiffio (2 years ago)

A: 3/5 on 6" @ 100 yards

- Brandyn Berstling (2 years ago)

A: I beleive its a 3 out of 3 shots on target at the 100 yrd range with an officer watching then youre good to go

- Dale Smith (3 years ago)

A: When I did it, it was 4 out of 5 on one of their targets with an officer.

- sara ryan (3 years ago)

Q: Is a wildlife management area permit required to use the range?

A: No you do not need a permit. Just bring cash in small bills for the envelope to put your donation in. Also bring all your own gear.

- Char Donnay (2 years ago)

A: The range is free to use, a kiosk for donation of cash, check or money order is at the beginning of the park, envelopes are provided with a detachable slip for you to place in your vehicle dashboard. The donation is vital for the park to remain open for the public to use. A $6.00 per vehicle full of people is suggested but I always put a little extra money even if I ride alone. You must sign in a release of liability at the office, thereΓÇÖs a very nice and attentive customer service everywhere.

- Domestic Security-Academy (2 years ago)

A: No permit is required for the range. There is a small kiosk at the entrance that you put 3 dollars in the provided envelope. Then you sign in at the range.

- Robert (2 years ago)

A: $ 3.oo for iron ranger

- Dick Iler (2 years ago)

Q: Can you bring steel targets to shoot?

A: Paper only.

- Robert Riggs (5 years ago)

A: No steel targets. Only paper or cardboard.

- Marcos Marroquin (5 years ago)

A: No no

- Aaron Hughey (5 years ago)

Q: Are black powder rifles allowed?

A: Yes. Check with one of RSO's for which range is available. You have to sign in and sign a one time release waiver.

- Big Dale (6 years ago)

Q: Can you draw and shoot from the holster, or are you only allowed to shoot from the bench?

A: Drawing from a holster and shooting is prohibited at all FWC managed shooting ranges.

- Cecil M. Webb Shooting Range (a year ago)

Q: Do they allow 50 bmg

A: Russell is correct that you must quslify on the 100 yard range to be permitted to use the 200 yard rsnge but you can qualify with any caliber.

- Mike Pacelli (6 years ago)

A: They have had .50 bmg there in the past, however a bit on the overkill side for the 100 yard range until qualified for their 200 yard range. They do not have any postings about .50 bmg not being allowed and they are strict of the rules they have posted.

- Russell Sears (6 years ago)

Q: Do they stay open if itΓÇÖs raining?

A: Yes indeed! Ranges are sheltered. Not all tho. Recommend dress appropriately. Have fun.

- Web3Prep (a year ago)

A: Yes. Usually someone is there.

- Mat O'Leary (a year ago)

A: Yes, but wear boots you may get your feet wet replacing the targets

- Carlos Rojas (a year ago)

Q: Do you still need a reservation?

A: No they stopped that . Back to first come first served

- Chevy- Schultz (3 years ago)

Q: Can PDX1 .410 defender cartridge be shot from the Taurus Judge at this range. If not at the pistol range, perhaps a shotgun range ?

A: Slugs on the pistol range.

- Robert Riggs (5 years ago)

A: No sir. Only bird shot on the shotgun range, and only slugs on the rifle range.

- David Lazy (5 years ago)

A: I asked the staff if I could shoot my governor at the skeet area and they said no. It has to be a shotgun. And if your shooting .410 as long as it's a slug coming out of the barrel they wouldn't have a problem with you shooting it at the pistol range.

- Nick K (5 years ago)

A: Probably the shotgun range. They allow carbines to be shot at the pistol range. It seems to be based on ammunition not firearm style/platform. I'm sure they'll give you a place to shoot, just check with the range masters. Nice firearm by the way, probably my next purchase, if not the Judge then the Magnum BFR 45-70. ROFL! The Judge is certainly more practical. Maybe a Raging Judge... Also when I bring out the Mossberg 590 Mariner, I use Federal 1oz slugs on targets. It's a pricey round but practicing with what you plan to have loaded is a necessity... At least a few rounds now and again anyway.

Range officers are vigil when it comes to safety. Been coming here for years and never had any problems or issues. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because this place tends to getg crowded and some other outdoor ranges like Knights Trail is larger and you rarely have any issues getting a lane to shoot.

It's a great place for outdoor shooting, whether it's shotgun, rifle, pistol or Archery. People are friendly and helpful, rules in place ensure a safe experience. Also the surrounding property is great for utvs and swap buggies, hunting, camping and fishing, riding bikes. Get in touch with FWC about hunting and fishing,,,,camping is allowed Friday evening into Sunday. Make sure you pay the fee, and keep ticket, for vehicle being on property. Thanks and have a wonderful time and experience

Wonderful visit. Line moved fast. Sunny days expect some lines. 20 minute increments between cold range. Limit it an hour if people are waiting. Again line moves reasonably.

This a great place to come out and shoot all types of guns. Kept and maintained very well by very knowledgeable staff. Gets crowded on weekends so be prepared to wait if you cant shoot at a certain gun station. For $3 a person or $6 per car, you cant beet the price. Must bring own guns, ammo and targets.

Nice facility. Friendly and helpful staff. Pay $3.00 on the way in and then check in at the office. Nice and easy. Skeet shooting bays fill up quickly, so get there early for that.

Great range. Several different range options. Facility is always clean and well maintained. All staff I have encountered have been very friendly and helpful, but also super safety oriented. Only downside is that it can get really busy, most likely because of all the positives above.

Nice place to practice one jerk at the pistol range that was tell my friend he wasn't using the sight when if he had his pistol closer to his face the recoil would have hit his nose. Also told a guy with a revolver that he was shooting to fast. We left early because of him big guy with a beard maybe 50 or so. More concerned with exercising his authority than anything else. We will go again on his day off everyone else there was great very safety conscious.
