Cedar Creek Rifle Range

Q: I visited here in March. It was a great place to go shoot. I heard it's closed permanently now. Can anyone confirm?
A: Access/parking is controlled via locked gate, and there is an "info board" nearby that states that the range is open Thursday - Sunday.

Q: Is the rifle range accessible by sedan or is a truck or at required?
A: Truck is best, but car is ok. From Cassidy Br. Rd., the road to the range is gravel but fairly well maintained.

My daddy took me up there with him when I was a little girl. I remember playing in the creek when he was setting his scope for hunting season. It is a beautiful place a long way down a gravel road.He used to take me all over the mountains deer hunting. He was a good hunter and we ate wild game meat and fish a lot but he never did that good when he took me lol. He would sit on the ground with me and build houses out of sticks.

Drove some dirt roads to get there and check it out and was met by 3 guys in a beat up pickup truck... Locals: Hay you aint from around here are ya? How come ya didn't bring no guns? at that point had my hand on my cc and decided I had seen enough.

Great if your looking for: ┬░ No RSO getting upset that you fire more than once a second. ┬░ Multi-Lane with good airflow and over hang in case of adverse weather. ┬░ Zero membership or entry fee.

Nice range. Unlike Pickens county, you can pop off a few quick shots. Great for training for a self defense situation and learning how to bring the sights back to center after the 1st shot. Only downsides are only a few shooting lanes, only open limited days, sometimes you have to tell a new or careless gun owner to not be messing around with their gun while people are hanging targets down range. That pretty much police's itself though.

Been going here for over 12 yrs now. There 5 lanes, 3 covered with left and right wooden seated shooting platforms. Also a parking lot and a 2 car handicapped lower parking with wheelchair accessability, except for putting up targets in the sand! Bring clothespins and taller free standing target unless you like shooting at a 2 ft tall target, also the range is a little over 100 meters long, which is 328ft; to the rock wall is 375ft approximately, so for those that don't know this is over 100 yards which is 300ft! They have closer intervals of target mesh fencing but it is very low to the ground! So a PVC standing target would be a food idea. This is one of the Best Outdoor Ranges in the Upstate that you can shoot how you want as long as you clean up after yourself and don't litter, people that trash the range ruin it for everyone else, that's why it is closed half the week and has limited hours now! Be respectful of other people and the environment please this is on US Forest Land and have fun!

Great range and friendly people. Good for target practice and sighting in. Fences at 25, 50 and 100 yards. The road out is a gravel road, and the range is currently closed several days of the week, including Wednesday, for maintenance

Good shooting place for doing some quick shooting or sighting in. Target fences really arent that great so I would recommend bringing a way to stand your targets.
