Questions & Answers

Q: What is the cost of membership?

A: Current costs can be found on the website. These consist of an application fee (one time), background check fee (one time), and pro-rated yearly dues.

Q: Phone just rings and rings and rings.........

A: The range officers aren't always in the clubhouse they are out on the range most of the time.

Q: Do you have to be a member to use the outdoor range?

A: Yes, or else you will have to have a friend who is a full badge member to supervise you and sign you in as a guest. The club is taking extra measures when it comes to safety, so even if you join the club today, it takes you few qualifications and 6 months to become a full badge member, then you can use the range by yourself unsupervised.

Q: Do they still shoot buddy shoots on Sundays?

A: Unsure what these are, but there are MANY events throughout each month.

Q: When i called in about shooting, they said i had to volunteer for a year to be member. Is that required? I go indoor to Range at Ballantyne often. Want ro utilize my arms potential. Whats require to shoot arms at your facility?

A: No. Not a requirement. I recommend going through the orientation process to get all of the correct and current info. No commitments for that.

Charlotte Rifle and Pistol Club has it all: pistol ranges indoor and outdoor, rifle ranges, shotgun fields for skeet, trap, and five stand, and even a plinking area. No matter your shooting discipline, you'll find a welcoming and well-maintained club. What truly sets this club apart is their commitment to safety. The staff and range officers are knowledgeable and prioritize a safe shooting environment for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned competitor or a new shooter, you'll feel comfortable and confident.

I just joined and am very happy with the way the joining process went. I appreciate the absolute focus on safety and think a $600 joining fee and $300 renewal, for a club of any kind, is very reasonable. What I don't think is reasonable is non-members complaining about the price and requirements to join the club. Steven Craig, if you read this, I think you missed out by not joining and I think you have quite a bit of misinformation. Namely.... A background check does not cost $500. The initial membership dues are $600, so I'm sure that's where the confusion came in. There is no sit down interview as you mentioned. There is an orientation that is required once your application is approved, but that really is just to meet the staff and tour the grounds and to get to know the place. I thought this was a very well thought out presentation and made me feel welcomed. We are also required, as a part of the membership, to donate our time to the club to help lend a hand where one is needed. All of your prior experience is incredible and you could have been a great asset to the club. I would also like to say, you shouldn't feel offended by the dedication to safety the club has. The mentality here is everyone falls in line when it comes to safety, regardless of your prior training, and no one gets a free pass on following the rules. That's what makes it safe. When one person joins that thinks they're above protocol and starts doing their own thing...that's exactly how things go bad. Being in the military, I'm surprised you had such a hard time with that concept. We're here to have fun but want to make sure everyone goes home safely. The steps the club has in place are there to ensure that exact thing happens. If you reconsider, feel free to reach out. Would love to shoot with you sometime. Take care!

Nice facilities. Never got to use them because of the ridiculous membership requirements. An application, a sit down interview, a $500 background check, mandatory qualifications on each range, and more...... yet here I stand with 9 year of Marine Corps weapons training including but not limited to: 3rd award pistol expert, 7th award rifle expert, team leader on M2 .50 cals, M240s, and Mk19 machine guns, Military Operations on Urban Terrain instructor, section chief on M198 155mm howitzer, M777 155mm howitzer, M327 120mm mortar system, secret clearance, suppressor tax stamp holder, CWP, and 3 combat tours........ I'll take my business and experience somewhere else.

Safety safety safety. Compared with all the ranges out there where it doesn't feel safe, this is a private club with fantastic safety focus. Like minded members whom I've found to be extreamly helpful for this relatively new shooter.

Feel safe knowing that everyone has had safety training for many months before being allowed to shoot at this club, Like the outdoor feel and the private setting.

None other even comes close to everything we offer, plus a $350,000 renovation on the rifle range is a thing of beauty, if you love to shoot you need to check us out.
