Q: Are there any other requirements or entry fees?
A: A valid hunting license
- John Hooper (5 years ago)
Q: I want to target shoot.....is a hunting license requirement for entry? Thanks Steve in Tahlequah
A: No you don't need a hunting license to use the range lmao.
- Aaron Stell (2 years ago)
A: Yes. Technically you have to have a hunting license to shoot. They can fine you if you don't.
- ammomiser ΓÇ£ammomiserΓÇ¥ (5 years ago)
A: You need either a valid Oklahoma hunting license or a conservation passport. If not, itΓÇÖs a $249 ticket. I know for a fact because I took my wife and adult kids shooting and the game warden rolls up asking for licenses. I have a lifetime, the others didnΓÇÖt have any. $249 EACH. That $747 dollars to waste some ammo. So yeah, you gotta have a license.
- Former Echo Trooper (2 years ago)
A: Not for the range.
- John Hooper (6 years ago)
Q: can you shoot a shotgun at the range?
A: ThereΓÇÖs three separate ranges. Shotgun, pistol and rifle.
- Former Echo Trooper (2 years ago)
Q: Does my hunting license pass for a permit to camp?
A: Yes. The regulations differ as the season progresses and the area closes for hunting activities only during deer season.

Q: do you have to have a hunting license to shoot bb guns?
A: Not for the range you do not. He's just trying to keep people of the range. How sad
- Aaron Stell (2 years ago)
A: Yes.

Q: Can you just have fishing licenses to shoot there?
A: No. You can have a fishing license or conservation passport to enter the area and look and fish. To use the range you have a valid OK hunting license or proof of exemption.
- ammomiser ΓÇ£ammomiserΓÇ¥ (4 years ago)
Q: Is the range closed during deer season
A: Typically no although 3 years ago it was.
- ammomiser ΓÇ£ammomiserΓÇ¥ (4 years ago)
Q: Is the range open during deer seasons?
A: Yes. It has been for the past couple years.
- ammomiser ΓÇ£ammomiserΓÇ¥ (4 years ago)
Q: How far does the range go out to
A: I think they have a 500 yard target
- John Hooper (6 years ago)
A: Sorry about my previous answer. They have a skeet/trap range. Not sure of the dimensions. The pistol range has 4 lanes that are at 20, 30, 40, and 50 yards. The rifle range has 2 lanes that go to 100 yards and 2 lanes that go out to 200 yards.

The photo of a guy going down range to check his target with his rifle pointing at his back and the bolt closed should tell you something is lacking in the safety dept!

Good place to test your guns, they have a rifle range to the right, and a pistol/shotgun range to the left, only downside is a bumpy dirt road.

After the Department spent much needed attention to this range. It's really nice. You better have a hunting license or Nation hunting card, they show up and check.

Awesome! You'd think this was a gun club! The range is great. trap range, pistol range with 4 @ 20, 30, 40, 50 yds. Rifle range has 100 and 200 yds berms. Only 4 tables and target post though. Side walk all the way downrange. You have to have a hunting license because it is on ODWC land. They will check and write tickets. The warden doesn't like targets not against the berms(no 150 yds target). See you out there!

Road to gun range is a little rough. Most other roads are in bad shape! They will be improving the condition in the next month or so! No problem for 4x4 though.

Half the time I go I am the only person. However if there was an accident good luck explaining to emergency services where you are. If unable to talk then to the scene you may be SOL. Also, be smart if other people are out there. I keep one loaded and near because there are not even cameras to keep them from doing something funny. But appreciate the freedom of it because as a Marine who joined to fight for freedom it makes me happy to see one less place in America surveilled by big brother.
