Attended the Basic Handgun Training class with instructor Kyle as a new gun owner on Saturday morning 02/08/2024. Extremely informative, safe, caring, and efficient lesson. We did around 20 minutes of classroom ground instruction and the rest of the learning was out at the outdoor range for a few hours. We went over the fundamentals of handgun ownership, handling, and safety. Plus multiple shooting drills Bring water and snacks, wear light and protective clothing, and have fun! Plenty of parking

IΓÇÖm now going into my 3rd year as an exclusive member. Some of the things that jump out at you at Cowtown range is that on your own or up to a group of 6 you have your own designated spacious range bay. Just set up your targets, mark your firing lines and start your target shooting experience, Your group can comprise of inexperienced shooters who need time and the help of peers or the experienced shooter who can run individual drills. The designated bays are safe and well protected from other bays. Cowtown Range is in a constant state of evolution. New bay designs are appearing that suit shooters with cowboy style weapons, paintball is also an option. Older bays are regularly refurbished and improvements made. Safety protocols are strictly enforced and all the members buy in. If you are considering a membership make an appointment for a visit and check it out, you will not be disappointed . Colin D

I recently attended a Carbine 1 gun course, and I couldn't be happier with my experience. My instructor, Kyle, played a crucial role in helping me develop essential foundational skills that will undoubtedly enhance my rifle abilities in the future. Not only was he incredibly knowledgeable and effective in his teaching, but his sense of humor also created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere throughout the class. I highly recommend this course to anyone looking to improve their shooting skills.

As a former (air wing) Marine (1997-2002), I have some familiarity with firearms. However, it's been over 20 years since I was active duty and a lot has changed in the firearms world, especially with regard to optics. I like to collect weapons used by the Marine Corps and a few years ago I added a fancy (to me), ACOG optic to an AR-15. I tried a few times to take it to the desert and sight it in on my own with less than zero success. I felt like the more I adjusted it, the worse it got. Finally, I found the Cowtown Range online and looked up their website, which shows a variety of classes they offer. I signed up for the "Basic Carbine" course in the hopes that they would help me learn how to set-up my ACOG. I was a little worried that the "basic" course would be too basic for me but I was wrong. I learned a TON! And, it was FUN! Kyle Davisson (the instructor) does an outstanding job! He is also a former Marine but more importantly, has been involved with competitive shooting for many years. His knowledge and skills are impressive but my favorite characteristic of his how he tailors the class to each individual student and meets them where they are at. He knows when to challenge an experienced shooter to get better and when to be patient and kind with someone less experienced. He was very patient with me as I struggled to get into some of the shooting positions (I'm very very fat and kinda old). He also has a great sense of humor and incorporates humor and fun into the class without ever sacrificing safety, which is obviously taken very seriously there. I learned so much more than I expected to and can't wait to take more classes in the future. Also, the Cowtown Range facility itself is top-notch. Everything is very professionally run, well maintained, and there are numerous types of lanes to choose from (e.g., pistol ranges, moderate rifle ranges, and long distance ranges). HIGHLY RECOMMEND both the ranges and the classes!!!!

Joined up two years ago, never regretted it. The facility is well managed and maintained. Shooting hours are easy to access, and help is always available. Have brought several guests, they have also enjoyed the property, hopefully will get their own membership.

Cowtown, is one of the best rage sites I have ever experienced. The facilities are top notch and staff could not be more welcoming. The Range is safe and well organized. Cowtown has a variety of platforms, for longer range rifle target 🎯 practice as well as a 0 Range to 0 in your fire arms. They also have a variety of hand gun ranges as well. Love Cowtown as my go to gun range.

Spent the day with Kyle doing one on one training in pistol and carbine. Kyle was extremely knowledgeable, a good communicator, and made everything fun and accessible. Our shooting improved noticeably in just 4 hours. Kyle made it all fun and challenging. We had a great day and will be back!

Honestly not enough good can be said about this place, staff is always very helpful and willing to answer any and all questions you have. Those like me who do not enjoy shooting with crowds of random people will enjoy the layout of this place and the privacy it offers to its members. And one more thing the staff are always seemingly hard at work making improvements to the area they even added a new bay and shooting area not too long ago! Great work yall!

Finding a good rifle range can be hard and intimidating often. Either itΓÇÖs overcrowded or you get the peanut galleryΓÇÖs comments. At Cowtown I felt comfortable to ask questions and have them answered with well informed staff. The members I have encountered are very welcoming and enjoyable to chat with. This range offers more than just exceptional ranges but exceptional staff and members. I cannot be more excited to spend my time here!

The facilities and operation are top notch and more than worthy of 5 stars in itself. However, this review is specifically related to the GPS Defense Sniper School… Not only are the instructors excellent at what they do, they teach in a way conforms to each individual’s abilities and goals. Having little to no experience with bolt guns or long range shooting in general, I came away from Sniper 1/2 with the knowledge and skill set required to be a proficient marksman. Additionally, I learned the importance of spotting and the team element of long range shooting. One of the best shooting courses I have taken to date, certainly the most enjoyable.

I LOVE this place! I hate indoor ranges with all the morons who show up there, which causes range masters to be extra cautious and less fun for me. This place is perfect for 3 reasons: #1- they have private outdoor bays with hesco rock barriers separating the bays-you are safe. You can move, shoot paper or steel and can reserve one hour or more. #2- they have long range shooting bays. It’s steel targets that are out to about 1,000. Each bay has a platform to shoot from that is covered and provides shade. They all have shooting benches and chairs to shoot from too. There is also scattered obstacles to shoot from to spice things up a bit too. #3- the price is right. Less than $500 for unlimited use throughout the year. I sometimes have to pay to bring a friend or two, but I know I will have the lanes I reserved every time I come. The staff is awesome and helpful…and they leave you alone! This place is a shooters dream and I love coming here

I have been a member for 3 years now . Cowtown is the best club I've been a member of. I try to shoot handguns once a week. Staff is great .I hope with all the development going on that Cowtown is there for many years

Would an absolutely fantastic facility. The staff is amazing and helpful. We took the defensive sniper course and what a day it was. By the end of it everyone in our group was able to hit the target at 1,080 yards. Truly amazing.

Great instruction. Great set up! The team at Cowtown Range made our teams training experience educational, eventful and foundational. Overall boosted the confidence level I now have using my equipment and assurance of how to maintain my skill set! Thank you guys! Great atmosphere and location.

Boy oh boy cannot say enough about this place!! Never have I experienced quite an adrenaline rush like that. The closest rush of adrenaline I can compare to this experience would be hitting a deer with my car. The tactics and team collaboration made me feel like my friends and I were the ones executing the hit on Bin Laden. Great place. even better food. Only knock they could or accommodate a high chair for my toddler.

Cowtown, is a private shooting range. All types of Firearms can be fired here. One of the best and most beautiful ranges I have ever been to.

Went there with my oldest son and a couple of friends. Awesome place, "private" isles to shoot, nice clean place. Paintball area was cool too. I just wish it was a little closer to Phoenix, but I suppose it's just safer and it gives you the open range sensation. Will be coming back for sure.

Cowtown is awesome Bill is great, and the older gentleman than lives there is great as well. I have been to ranges all over the country, hands down itΓÇÖs the best. Just wish I could rent steel targets.

Coming from NJ, this place is an absolute dream come true. There isnΓÇÖt a place like this anywhere else. The freedoms you have to train without any distractions. Becoming a member was one of the best decisions my wife and I made. Plus the events they hold every week/month are amazing. Bill is an absolute pleasure and itΓÇÖs obvious he really cares about the range and itΓÇÖs future. HeΓÇÖs always going the extra mile for everyone. A true gem in the desert. This place is one of kind. I wish I could give it 10 stars.

So happy we bought a family membership for Christmas! No more crowds at Ben Avery or shooting surrounded by strangers on BLM land. Now I reserve my range online and it is mine...no sharing or wondering if it will be available. Bill Johnson, manager and all around great guy, has been awesome to work with. From pistols/close range work, to long range precision platforms...they have you covered. Should have joined earlier.
