As a member of DBCL I can not recommend this club for LEO/MIL and competitive individuals who wish to seriously train on their own time. For example, the other day my brother and I were alone doing barricade drills on a tripod we had set up. To paint the picture of our drill we would start in the high ready position, take a step forward, brace the rifle on the tripod, shoot, and reload. During a break period I noticed an older gentlemen standing in the clubhouse staring at our activity. At the time I thought he was spectating and staying behind the doors to shield from the sound of suppressed gunfire. What really was happening was that individual was trying to find us on the sign in sheet to perhaps report us. A few minutes later he proceeded to grab a buddy of his and came down to have a talk with us. They both began to rant about how our muzzle direction was unsafe when bracing on the tripod and that we needed chamber flags in our unloaded slung rifles. Per the DBCL rule on chamber flags it states, "Chamber flags are required on CEASE FIRE, when bell/light is on, when gun is in rear rack, when gun is not being held, and/or when gun is moved uncased from a firing station." It does not state that unloaded and slung rifles on the firing line need chamber flags. Now, to address the drill we were doing, at no point were our rifles pointed anywhere except downrange when loaded at the start of the drill. I will note that these individuals were not wearing clothes with distinguishing branding that would identify them as employees of DBCL. What's interesting is that we saw multiple trap shooters walking with their uncased firearms without a chamber flag that were not confronted by these clowns. It seems that swinging a shotgun around and shooting clays in the sky is apparently safer than taking one step forward to brace a rifle on a tripod. In the future I will no longer waste my time with unidentified individuals who want to make up rules and interpret what they think is "unsafe" because of a lack of skill on their part. I will continue to train in a safe manner to maintain and exceed my skills as shooter until I am confronted by an identifiable employee of DBCL.

A small piece of Americana is to be had when you set foot on the pristine grounds of this top flight conservation league property. The unique setting is tuff to beat for your avid trap shooter. I highly recommend you join if this is your cup of tea. The small arms and handgun shooting Lanes have recently been updated, stop in and ask for a tour.
