Deadcenter’s product selection is top notch, and doesn’t compare to those around … however, that’s where the good things end. From staff not greeting you, to being told no shooters after 5 and it 4:50 with 2 lanes open. I’m sorry, but I used to love this place and the people that worked there, but now it’s just not the same. Some of the original staff that have been there for years are great and I do not want this to reflect poorly on them, but I need them to teach the new guys how to “gun store” because being a cocky and arrogant ass hole when someone is purely seeking knowledge is not cool, and I will definitely be giving dead center a break from my thousands of dollars in firearms sales as well as range and ammo fees… FIX IT PLEASE

They have so many terms and conditions you'd think the place is run by lawyers. Make sure your targets are the size of beach blankets because if you shoot above a certain line they'll fine you. This is not a place where you want to sight in your gun.

Employees should make sure not to talk crap about customers out loud. Had a family member ask for help with a gun. Employee comes back out and very loudly starts making fun of him because he didnΓÇÖt know how to use it.

IΓÇÖve been a customer of this shop for easily a decade now. Even after moving IΓÇÖve made it a point to stop by when IΓÇÖm in the area. You may have had experiences at other range shops where some crotchety old man was telling you your caliber choice sucked and you donΓÇÖt know what you are talking about. You wonΓÇÖt find that here. These guys and gals are the friendliest shop IΓÇÖve been to. They have always been more than happy to answer any and all of my questions. I have never left this place unsatisfied or unanswered. 10/10 will shop here until I move out of the state of Georgia.

Racial profiling. Only ID card black/POC customers apparently, do not come here. Made huge issues about black friend and then they don’t ID the white people. Response to owner: Initially our parties primary member asked for a range and showed ID (when black friend came to show ID, we were met with different vibe), as this is very standard at most ranges. We were informed of the ID requirement applies to ALL persons …we were then subsequently advised that my black friend could not enter the range bc no physical ID and even copy of ID not allowed. I filled out my form and the SAME man didn’t even check my ID at all SECONDS later. Me and my black friend had to go questions the inconsistency. Also, if you’re a gun range and BUSY, wouldn’t you allow additional times to be sure ID was checked if that’s a requirement for your insurance to stay open? Is 3 people AFTER us make it hard to check OUR ID correctly? It also was not very busy…the range we left to had less staff, 3x busy, and 4x the service. Anyways we found a way better local range, so i guess your poor establishment did us some good after all. so all customers, beware! these are also not the same policies at other ranges either!!!

EDIT: I have visited this range and store several more times since leaving my review below and every visit was a positive experience. This is the only range I use for training with pistols, even though there is another within walking distance to my home. Dead Center has a good 25-yard indoor shooting range that is fairly priced, annexed to a gun store with prices trending towards competitive and very friendly and helpful staff. I absolutely recommend it. Shooting Range: The range contains 10 bays, each with a 25-yard lane containing a basic forwards/backwards operated target carrier that displays distance digitally in yards. The range is maintained at a temperature that is comfortable in a T-shirt and jeans. My favorite thing about this place is that there are no restrictive rules about practicing draw to first shot from a concealed appendix holster or practicing "rapid fire." Shooters are kept honest about their skills through a system of fees for shots striking the target carrier above a certain line, assessing anything from $10-500. potentially making the learning curve, mistakes, or gun/ammo malfunctions quite expensive, although I suspect the reasonable group of people running the joint consider the totality of the circumstances before assessing fees. All I'll say is if you are putting the tab under your name for a group of shooters, then make sure you trust them. The cost to rent a lane is very fair, and the rental is daily. Gun Rentals: The superb rental policy gives you access to all rental guns or rifles for a single additional fee. I recommend bringing your own targets and ear/eye protection as you can purchase them at significantly better prices. Prescription glasses are considered to be eye protection. Gun Store: The gun store offers a fair selection of guns, silencers, ammo, and accessories at prices that vary in their value compared to other retailers, although I have found certain popular pistols to be priced as low as anywhere. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful to everyone with no pretension. The store does not prohibit conceal carrying on the property, a good policy that makes range visits safer and more convenient. Criticism: My most significant complaint is a minor one, which is that shells somehow travel from one bay to the other, despite a divider, and land on one's head, bench, firearm, etc, not to mention your own shells will ricochet from the divider and come back home. I imagine cleavage of any kind is a liability, so, ladies keep your guns concealed. These are not criticisms but are good to know before making the drive. Signs are posted stating people emanating the odor of marijuana will not be served, and the business sometimes closes a few minutes prior to the posted closing time.

Went in originally looking for an obscure ammo caliber, and the staff were super helpful in tracking it down for me even tho they themselves didn't carry it. Hard to find people willing to go above and beyond this way so I'm definitely recommending this spot for just the customer service alone.

Went in looking for a specific item and they had multiple styles and colors ready to go. Only place within two hours to have it in stock. I drove from another county (1hr 20mins) walked in and was taken care of immediately by JOHN. Super chill guy, handled all my annoying questions and has an awesome personality. Felt like talking to a friend. The whole staff was inviting and friendly. We also enjoyed the clear glass to watch the range too never seen that before and weΓÇÖve visited a lot of stores in a few counties. We will definitely be back whenever we are in search of more items! Ty DCR

I came in here for the first time to check the store out. Great selection of firearms and accessories. I was just browsing around and had 3 different people come up to help which was great because in other stores if youΓÇÖre not a regular you are usually ignored until you ask questions first. Clean shop and good prices on firearms. As a first timer in your store I felt welcomed.

I came in late on a Friday with a large group and the staff were very accommodating. I have many ranges near my house but I prefer to make the 30 minute drive to Dead Center since its always a good experience.

Best indoor range and LGS I've been to in YEARS. Reasonably priced and staff that knows their stuff. I love taking visitors and novice shooters. I also recommend looking through the sale boxes. I do every time and I always find something.
