A: Such a great place to take the family for some shooting and a safe environment as always such a well maintained clean building and the prices are actually vary reasonable they dont seem to have to many options for rifle but it is still a decent variety for the occasional shooter

- Raymie -santy (5 years ago)

A: Defender is the cheapest and the best range i have shot at in DFW. The staff is aways super friendly and very knowledgeable. I'm not sure on the ecact pricing because I'm a member so it's cheaper. I would definitely recommend just stopping by and chatting with the range staff and they will help you out

- Robert Montogmery (6 years ago)

A: Where are the prices

- Trucker D.J. DJS4 (2 years ago)

Q: How do guest passes work

A: You need to have a membership to get them but the guest pass lets them shoot for free and get free hearing and eye protection just like you. With the membership you also get discounted firearm rentals which is a big plus.

- Tyler Grooms (2 years ago)

A: Hi Brandon, We have two different levels of Membership- Basic and Plus. The Plus Membership comes with guest passes, the Basic does not. The guest must accompany the member and share the same bay, and it allows for one guest per visit only. It does include eye and ear protection as well, but not gun rentals or ammo purchases.

Multiple employees here are rude, unprofessional, and straight up bullies. IΓÇÖve never seen such entitled hourly workers on a power trip. IΓÇÖve spent close to $4k on firearms here but after multiple bad experiences in a row, I refuse to return.

Extraordinarily disappointed with this place. Was recommended to go here with high praise walked in looking to purchase 1-2 guns. A guys showed us a handful of weapons and found 2 to purchase. And all I wanted to do was shoot them prior to purchasing so we agreed to use there rentals and wait the 2 hours for a range opening asked the guy if we could leave he said absolutely with no further comment. We were 5-10 mins down the road when we got the text. Got there and then stood on like waiting to check in for another 5-10 mins while some kids picked out and felt a few different options of weapons to rent. Then a lady called us over to check in then told us we were 5 mins late for our check in and they kicked us off the list and if we wanted to we could wait another 2 hours. I told her thatΓÇÖs ridiculous weΓÇÖve been waiting 2 hours and weee trying to purchase a gun today can you just put us back on the list and wait for the next open. She declined and re offered for us to wait an additional 2 hours. Re asked the sales guy he told us he had no persuasiveness in the gun range staff.unfortunate chain of event now making us have to try to find another place to use the range and buy our guns at. Wish the team informed us we have seconds within receive the text to sprint to the table and check in. IΓÇÖd youΓÇÖre waiting make sure to not wait in line and just tell them right away they may kick you off for waiting behind some kids renting guns. If it wasnΓÇÖt for how helpful the sales guy was with helping us this would be a 1 star review

Every single time I come here itΓÇÖs a 5 star experience. I used to be a member before work required me to move around too much. Today I walked in looking for help with my Sig front sight due to accidentally hitting my handgun on the counter. Andy & Rafael were courteous and super friendly. Not to mention the help IΓÇÖve received with other purchases. Rafael has truly saved me a couple times. These guys & gals look out for their customers.

If you are Mexican or Canadian donΓÇÖt come in I went yesterday with my family and they didnΓÇÖt let us use their range because Mexico and Canada are not in the visa waver program. Although we have a non-immigrant visa and we have a hunting license (which is required to shoot in any TX gun range). I tried to explain but they didnΓÇÖt care, they just wanted us to leave the place. I took my business to DFW Gun, they also told me about the waver program but they knew about the non-immigrant exception rule.

My man & I were visiting from Wisconsin & wanted to spend a little time on the range. We are both very inexperienced, but the staff were very helpful and walked us through everything, including gun safety and how to use the firearms and the range. We had a great time! We both felt very comfortable being supervised but not hovered over and appreciated the little tips and adjustments the staff offered. Thanks for the experience!

Been on hold for 35 minutes just to talk to someone about an FFL transfer. I've left messages and never received a call back and I finally got someone to answer the phone and was put on hold immediately. Would it be easier just to walk in?

Just wanted to give a shout out to William, Eric and gunsmith Andy. IΓÇÖve been having trouble with my pistol misfiring for about a year and a half (ever since I let an an amateur clean it.) William and Eric took the time to help me work through the problem and Andy had the gun fixed in 15 minutes. They have some really good people at Defender and their prices are more than reasonable. I would definitely recommend them to anyone, whether you are just starting out or have years of experience. Thanks again to William, Eric and Andy! Your service and kindness truly made my day!

Awesome place! Brought my new Henry big boy 30/30 in to get sighted in. Andy, the gun Smith, got her all fixed up for me. Also recommended the better rail product that I needed because I had just purchased this gun at a gun show. Five star service will definitely be returning here for all my shooting needs.

I came to this store because many of my friends recommended it, and at first, my experience was great. The staff was very helpful and friendly, which I appreciated since this was my first time buying a gun. However, my experience took a turn for the worse after my time at the range. I asked a simple question about whether you need to clean a gun after a single use if itΓÇÖs brand new. Instead of a helpful answer, I was met with a condescending lecture about how IΓÇÖd need to pay for a private lesson to learn gun cleaning. While that response was disappointing, what really ruined my experience was what happened next. As I was getting ready to leave, I saw the person pointing at me and laughing with another range staff member, seemingly making fun of my question. This behavior was unprofessional and left me feeling disrespected. What started as an exciting first-time experience turned into a regrettable one. I hope management takes steps to ensure this kind of behavior doesnΓÇÖt happen to others.

For years, Defender Outdoor has been a trusted destination for us. This past Saturday at 4 p.m., we had the opportunity to have my husband's antique Italian Beretta examined without needing an appointment or paying a fee. Sadly, today's encounter resulted in feelings of discomfort and humiliation. We consistently appreciate visiting this establishment due to the exceptional courtesy and willingness of employees and managers to assist customers. Having worked in customer service for 12 years, I understand the importance of maintaining professionalism, even on challenging days. However, I witnessed my husband experiencing racial abuse and profiling by a staff member wearing a grey like T-shirt at the customer service desk, which I believe warrants a formal reprimand, as he was targeted upon entry. My husband intended to get his two double-barrel shotguns evaluated to determine their historical significance and value, with the goal of potentially selling them and upgrading. However, our experience was marred by the discourtesy of an employee, recognizable by his white grayish beard, round glasses, silver left-wrist bracelet and subtle accent. Did his behavior align with his self-proclaimed firearms expertise? Upon entering, he was assisting a customer, glanced at us, and mentioned his busy schedule and appointment requirement(we didnΓÇÖt have to make an appointment prior times of coming here). He asked my husband in a sarcastic way you want to know about your gun's condition and historical background, and my husband explained his interest. However, the individual interrupted, stating a $50 fee per gun for gunsmith evaluation, and my husband and I were about to agree before being cut off again. He pointed to the ground behind him to place the gun case because we were going to browse for something new. Honestly, we were unconcerned about waiting, recognizing the store was busy or charging a fee, a common practice in some gun shops depending on the sales associate. However, after feeling humiliated and embarrassed, we opted not to browse. To add to the humiliation, the front desk lady turned her back on us as we departed and remained silent. We did nothing wrong; my husband exercised restraint despite the blatant disrespect, and we chose to leave quietly. We have been loyal patrons for years, and it's deeply hurtful to be racially profiled by one of your company's representatives. Please refer to the camera footage, which shows the male on very first chair older gentleman at customer service starting the conversation. My husband sought information on his antique double-barrel shotguns, driven by his passion for their historical background. Our positive experiences with Defender Outdoor's customer service, based on our professional expertise, were marred by today's incident involving racial profiling against my Spaniard husband. We wish Defender Outdoor all the best, but unfortunately, Texas has numerous alternative gun stores with employees who don't exhibit what we encountered. Have a blessed day!

I canΓÇÖt say enough good things about all the folks at Defender Outdoors. Everyone was very knowledgeable and made me feel welcome. From the range masters, to the gunsmith, to the check-in person for the range. Took my new rifle to the range and had some trouble with it. The range master stripped it and diagnosed the problem, and the gunsmith fixed it, all in about 10 minutes. Will definitely return.

Creepy vibes. I walked in 30 min before they closed to look at some holsters n night sights and an employee followed me around the whole time asking me if IΓÇÖm ok and how my day was at least 3x. It was so obvious that he was following me around because there was no one else in the store. IΓÇÖve already purchased 3firearms there so it was just awkward. IΓÇÖll stick to going around noon on weekends when itΓÇÖs busier.

I just want to write a short review as I could go on and on about this store. My wife and I stopped by Defender Outdoors Shooting Center last Saturday and had a blast. Let me tell you, Mr. Kris was very pleasant to speak with during my shopping experience. His knowledge and expertise helped my wife and I make a informed decision on our purchase. I am pleased to say Mr. Kris and Mr. Mike really took good care of us before and during the time to purchase my Daniel Defense Limited Edition Rifle. We plan on returning to the store soon because great customer service goes a long way. A big thank you to Mr. Kris and Mr. Mike for making us feel at home.

Can we talk about impeccable customer service and high level skill? I worked with Andy, the gunsmith, at Defender Outdoors. I couldnΓÇÖt have had a better first experience with this company. Andy is an excellent communicator and skilled at his job. I appreciated his energy, charisma, and clear guidance throughout the week as I prepped parts and brought everything to him to build. My rifle came out way better than I thought and his turn around time was superb. Thanks, Andy and DOSC!

I purchased a silencer from Defender Outdoors. While checking out I wasn't paying much attention so when I got it home today after waiting on the ATF approval I realized I was overcharged by $50. The receipt stayed in the box with the suppressor. I was told when I bought it that I would receive an email within a day to do more paperwork through eforms or Silencer Shop. I didn't receive that email after several days so I contacted Silencer Shop directly and they notified me that defender outdoors hadn't assigned a serial number or suppressor to my tax stamp. After they assigned the suppressor I bought to the tax stamp I received my email and got ATF approval in 4 days. I was in the store doing the certification paperwork so I asked for the correct piston to use to mount it on the gun I planned on using it the most with (I thought the original sales guy would have told me what I needed). The sales guy got one for me and acted like I was an idiot for not knowing which one to get. The piston he gave me doesn't even fit the suppressor I bought. When I picked up the suppressor I tried out the piston and asked if they had the correct piston. They didn't have one in stock and I haven't been able to find one locally. The box was supposed to come with 2 wrenches but only had 1 and they were no help with that either. I have a new suppressor but no way to mount it. It was just an all around bad experience except for the short ATF wait time. The wait time would have been shorter if there was a suppressor assigned to my tax stamp from the beginning.

Out of towner that decided to stop in and do as the Texans do - book some range time and pick the brains of the guys behind the counter. As a young woman coming to the range alone, you never know what to expect as far as a reception goes… Not only was everyone professional and pleasant to speak with (especially Cameron), but I got a great value for my hour with 4 different pistols and advice on selecting a home defense weapon that fit my personal needs. Felt very safe with the RSOs as well, without feeling I was being babysat. Wish I had more time this visit for another stop by before I fly home!

Went for the first time this past Saturday. All the staff was fantastic, very welcoming and kind. When I went to the wrong side, one of the ROs made sure I got to the side I was looking for by walking me to the correct side. The RO on the rifle side offered great conversation and helped me sight in my rifle in less than a full mag. Fantastic range and I will be going back anytime I need to sight something in or teach new shooter. 10/10
