This is the best CCW class in the area. El Dorado, Placer, and Sacramento counties can receive their training for their CCW here. The team is very knowledgeable and run a very fun and stress free class. The Daniels family are ex law enforcement with more than 30 years of experience. They have many stories of real life scenarios they experienced used as examples during instruction. IΓÇÖve taken multiple classes that theyΓÇÖve offered from new certification, renewal, and multi-state certification. They offer many more classes for beginners, AR15, and advanced training.

I have taken all of the Defense Shot courses and have enjoyed them all. They are a good time, but more importantly informative and I have learned a great deal from all of the classes. I now regularly use Defense Shot for all my CCW renewals. The only course I have yet to take is the rifle course, which as soon as I get an opportunity, I will sign up. I can't say enough good things about John and his staff. I am a customer for life. Thank you

Yet again, hands down the BEST CCW class in El Dorado County. Probably the best in the greater Sacramento area. John and his family are great! They make sure you have a good time along with getting everything done necessary to carry safely. Thank you John, Heather and Family!

John, Heather and their team nailed it! My wife has been timid with handling defense weapons in the house (no matter how safe and clear). And having never shot before, she needed the confidence of a professional training environment to get over her fears. We took the beginners class together so we could get over that while also getting the extra benefit of being able to do it together. We both loved it and the entire experience - she now has the confidence to feel safe, secure and accurate... and I have to admit, it certainly was a boost for me too and help me realize areas where I could improve too. How good was it? Well, we immediately signed up for the Utah non-resident CCW without even having to think about it. All of the great information and recommendations about the local county sheriff's CCW process have been spot on too. I got the process started right after the training, made an appointment with the sheriff's office , and was able to knock off 2 months of wait time just now - thanks to their expertise insider knowledge of the process and recommendations. Can't wait to get that notch taken care of and finish getting through the local CCW process. Thanks to all of Defense Shot's help though, it looks like that is going to be much sooner, than later. I highly recommend Defense Shot for all of your training needs (I haven't taken the advanced or intermediate yet, but they are on my to do list) and I am so glad we got started with them. It couldn't have been easier, safer or better - they blew away all of our expectations.

ItΓÇÖs time for me to renew again and have to sayΓÇö-I am looking forward to seeing John squared again. Always enjoy their class whether itΓÇÖs the group class or 1on 1 which is a really good skills experience! I would recommend that to anyone wanting ing to go up a notch!!

Informative, understanding and very knowledgeable. I enjoyed taking my CCW class. Very affordable but I would not just take the class for California. They offer a class for multiple states and I will be going back for that.

The training that my wife and I have received from Defense Shot is excellent. After receiving our initial CCW training from Defense Shot, for CA and for the AZ and UT CCWs, we have returned, repeatedly, to Defense Shot for our CCW renewals and additional training. The quality of the training (attention to detail, enjoyable environment and helpful instruction) is top notch. We have also taken the higher level training courses, not just to learn more and improve our shooting skills but, because they are so much fun. I highly recommend Defense Shot for anyone looking to obtain their CCW and/or to improve their overall shooting skills.

Loved this class so much that I bought a gift certificate from this company for my dad for FatherΓÇÖs Day! The instructor is a great teacher and had a ton of useful and practical information for real life situations. He also made me a far better shooter with just a few simple tips. I will come back to this company for any of my shooting training needs. 10/10 highly recommended.

I have been renewing my CCW with Defense Shot for years , and every time I attend I learn new stuff. IΓÇÖve also taken multiple shooting classes that have taught me a lot! John and Heather are fantastic and I will be retuning every two years only to Defense Shot! Do I recommend them? Yes! Absolutely!

ItΓÇÖs been awhile since I use defense shot, but they keep asking for a review. I stoped using them because half the classes are them trying to sell us stuff. Instructor was great when it comes to actually firing a weapon system and his advice did improve my shooting. I just donΓÇÖt want to pay for a class where half of it is them trying to sell me books, holsters and other stuff.

First time taking the renewal course here. I thought John taught a great class. He gave shooting fundamental tips to each participant and provided a ton of information, on what I consider the most important instruction for a CCW holder, scenario type situations that take place in the real world. Great insight from a former LEO. Serene setting in the hills and a really comfortable atmosphere. Definitely will be back.
