Q: Do you sell ammo?
A: Ammo is difficult to get now (2021). Limited ammo is available to members. In better times ammo is available in the Proshop for public purchase.

Q: Could i shoot my mossberg shockwave on the range?
A: With target loads size 7.5, 8, or 9 loading only 1 on the trap side or 2 on the skeet side

Q: How old do you have to be to shoot on this range and what calibers are allowed?
A: we allow 'with adult supervision' 8years and 80+ we allow all calibers to 50BMG

Q: Do they have a rifle range?
A: Yes. The Detroit SportsmenΓÇÖs Congress Rifle Committee would like to welcome you to our 20-point, 200-yard outdoor range. The range is covered with a concrete shooting line. You may shoot at three different yardages, 50, 100 and 200-yards. The range is open every weekend Saturday and Sunday (May thru November), Sundays only (Dec thru April) except for special events or matches. Check the calendar for exact schedule.

Q: Can I shoot rifles and or handguns with steep bullets here?
A: Steel bullets? Steel cartridge cases are allowed. Pistol range is pistol caliber cartridges only. Rifle range is for rifle cartridges.

I took the Basic Pistol and CPL classes Dec 2024 and they were great. I've been to the open pistol maybe 10 times with no issues. You just have to check the calendar online to see if it's open the day you want to go. I did that yesterday, Saturday, 2/22/25 and it was open. I drove there only to find that no RSO has shown up. I said that I'd come back the next day, which I did after double checking the calendar. I was told no pistol today because they had an event. A total PITA and a waste of some of my weekend time.

I agree w/ previous reviewer, they have a really nice outdoor range, goes out to 200 yards, even though they have RSOs (range safety officers), they have the DUMBEST modern rule - only 1 cartridge in the rifle at a time. Don't bother w/ semi autos here, it will be the worst experience loading 1 round at a time.

nice range and helpful folks but they have an unheard of rule that you can only have 1 bullet in a rifle at a time which is just beyond stupid and a great way to wear out the bolt catch in your AR

Absolute rip off.. this place is the definition of a scam it is well worth the extra drive to go shoot at bald mountain. Whoever runs the pricing needs to evaluate what they are doing. The fact you have to separately pay for the rifle and pistol range is absurd.

If you're a hunter or shooting enthusiast, a great place to shoot archery or guns as we have allot of different venues. Also an awesome staff who are very helpful and supportive. A great place to join and become a member!

I have recently gotten into target shooting, and I have been repeatedly going back to Detroit Sportsman's Congress. The atmosphere is much more pleasant and friendly than some of the other rangers I have been to locally. I have also gotten some free instructions from the RSOs, which I am always eager to learn. The only complaint I could see having about this place is that since it is non-profitly owned and volunteer run, the place definitely feels like people have used it. I think that just adds to the charm and humanness of the experience. I plan on going back frequently. This place does have more limited hours, at is also used as a range for professional shooters, but to compensate for that, they charge just a straight range fee, not an hourly rate. So, for $20 I can get the same amount of range time as I would spend $80 at a gun shop's range.

The guys were great helping me sight in a new rifle and another one I havenΓÇÖt shot in 25 years, Mark was very helpful in helping me dial in both guns at 200 yards.All around great group of men, thank you.

Zeroed in 12 ga. w/ sabots. Excellent staff, very cordial and knowledgeable. Best range experience in over 25 years. Will definitely be back.

Extremely happy with the experience we had yesterday. We had just left after terrible service at riverbends park. And we came to the dsc the lady that helped us was amazing and the facilities were awesome will definitely be making this our go to after our experience yesterday
