Range is great went today had bad luck on road. After you turn on dirt road, before the first right there is a water hold running across the road. There is about a 4' drop off almost across the road. I was lucky a guy was coming in behind me and was able to pull me out. I have F250 four wheel drive and was not able to get out without his help. There are no signs about the washout, just be e careful. Mm y truck bottomed out in the washout. Don't know the person that pulled me out, my thanks you really saved my day.

Range only staffed with safety officer on weekends. Opened during the week, but you are on your own for safety, so cooperate and work with others present. Range is in very good condition.

Dixon Range has been a great facility the last few years. Starting Aug 1 the range will only be staffed Sat and Sun. It will now become a dump like it used to be. Please DNR reconsider. All the money that has been spent to make this a great place to shoot, letΓÇÖs keep it that way.

Range officials act like they're guarding a nuclear test facility. I guess this is what happens when you give a guy who would normally be stocking shelves at Walmart a little authority.

Very nice shooting range. I just bought me a 9mm pistol that I can tote with me for safety. We recently moved to town and didn't have anywhere for me to shoot so we decided to try out Dixon gun range. The set up there is nice and safety is top priority there. If you've never been, be prepared to show your hunting or fishing license the first time you go.

Nice outdoor facility with separate pistol and rifle ranges. Operated by State of Georgia and requires a hunting license, WMA license, or GORP. Facility is not staffed - safety is the shooter's responsibility. As such the area can get messy (people don't always clean up after themselves).

Great 100 yd range. Though, they pulled the steal plate targets. Still, the closet place for me and my son's to shoot pistol and long guns..

This is a good place to go shoot. I would have given them five stars if they had not removed the steel targets. Bring your own targets, cardboard, and something to attach it to (ie. something like a yard sign). There is is both a pistol range and a rifle range.

Very decent free outdoor pistol and rifle range. You can see abuse from negligence people, but state doing a decent job keeping it up. Always my place to go when i wanna shoot. P.s bring you own stand to put targets on someone took them last time we were out there.

This is a state run shooting range located inside the Dixon Memorial WMA. There is a nominal daily user fee or you can opt for an annual pass from Georgia DNR. To help keep the area clean please take everything you bring with you. There are six rifle lanes and six pistol lanes on separate ranges.
