Double P is 1st class all the way. Cyrus runs an excellent lodge and the hunting is top tier for pheasant and whitetail. What makes this place so special is the people though, from Korey and his well trained dogs to Chris making the best meals you ever had and Kateri making sure your stay is the best possible it can be. I've been here 4 times and will continue to come and make memories.

Just got back from a Pheasant hunting trip at Double P Ranch in South Dakota. Lodging was very nice, staff was great. The food was on a different level, absolutely amazing chef's! Them guys are great. The hunt itself...., don't think I have ever had so much fun. Our hunting guide and his dogs was top notch. 100% would recommend Double P Ranch to anyone!

IΓÇÖve been pheasant hunting in SD twice before, and I thought it was pretty good. This was the best! We had a great guide and dogs. They hunt standing corn about 40 yards wide and 200 yards long. We had 7 hunters, so three went down each side (about 30-40 yards apart) and 1 went to the end to block. Then the guide would yell ΓÇ£dogs are going in!ΓÇ¥ The birds would generally get up above the corn, so no one was ever tempted to shoot at a low bird. Very safe system of hunting. The ground we walked on was almost flat in most places - it had been soybeans that were harvested. In 3 days of hunting we only went down 2 or 3 corn stands that were empty. We usually got up 2-7 birds each strip. WeΓÇÖd start hunting about 9:00, and we had 5 birds apiece by 11:00-12:00 all three days. One afternoon we went to the art museum in Watertown (Terry Redlin - outdoor artist) and 1 afternoon we opted for the walleye fishing. Food here was excellent and plenty of it every meal. Accommodations were very nice, and the service people were always helpful and friendly. I will definitely be back!

I have hunted with the folks at Double P for 8 years. Plenty of birds with a variety of terrain. Bring your dog. This is a first class outfitter with great food, comfortable accommodations, and pleasant staff. I couldn't recommend them higher. Enjoy a nice wine on the deck at sunset listening to the pheasant cackle and watch the ducks and geese fly south. Just a wonderful experience.

After hunting w/ a different outfitter last year, we found Double P online. After speaking w/ Cyrus (the owner) and Kate (mgr), we decided to book a 5 hunter pheasant hunt for the 2nd week in December. ||||All of our expectations were exceeded at Double P.||||HUNTING: A mix of wild & pen-raised birds. We limited out each day before lunch (limit was 4 roosters/day/hunter).||||GUIDING: Nick, our guide was fantastic. Knew the area super well and his dogs were great. The fields he put us on were pretty easy to walk & everyone could easily change positions. In speaking w/ the other groups of hunters, all were very pleased w/ their guides & experiences.||||LODGING: We took the "Town Loft." It's about 10-15 min from the main lodge and is right in the middle of Clark. Stumbling distance from the 2 local bars & grocery. Quiet, spacious, new & very well stocked. Full kitchen, which we basically didn't use (see next section). For the 5 of us, it was way bigger than needed & greatly appreciated. The lodge itself is also new & very nice. ||||FOOD: Chef Chris did an outstanding job. Breakfast, lunch & dinner were all great. Each meal was new (no repeats) & very well prepared. For example, dinners for us were: prime rib, fajitas & breaded pheasant. Again, way better than I ever expected.||||Needless to say, we rebooked for Dec 2022 & are already looking forward to coming back.

Not a client of double p ranch but I hunt in the area at least once a week. I can tell you that double p IsnΓÇÖt a joke like the other pheasant farms. They actually care about the birds and have created outstanding habitat for them to flourish. Not just pheasants and partridges but for ducks to. IΓÇÖm usually not a fan of guides but when they actually care about the land itΓÇÖs a different story. Clark county is one of the best hunting counties in the state and unfortunately the past 20 years itΓÇÖs been taking a beating but double p has done their part by creating a wild life sanctuary.

We just left on Friday morning from our fifth year of hunting the Double P. I have hunted at other lodges in SD, but none can touch the pricing, lodging, gourmet food, guides and dogs, and the service and hospitality of the hard working people of the Double P. In my survey, I could not offer one suggestion, except to keep on doing what you are currently doing. It does not get any better.

What an incredible experience! This was my first time at Double P Ranch and I was completely floored with how great everything was. The guides were not only knowledgeable, but charismatic and fun too. The food & hospitality was first class. The lodge was five star and immaculate. I cannot say enough great things - truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Thank you, Cyrus!

In 2018 I shared an amazing hunt with my Dad at Double P ranch. Sadly, 2 weeks ago he lost his life in a farm accident. Just want to send a great big thanks to the staff at Double P for putting together the most memorable hunt I ever shared with Dad! R.I.P Glenn Weaver
