Questions & Answers

Q: I know this is a crazy time but I would love to know when the museum is open? My father is a huge ww2/war buff. I would love to be able to take him out there. I missed his 60th birthday but would love to do something for his 61st

A: Yes, the museum is open Wednesday's and Sunday's at 10am through November 11th.

Q: Have any M16s ? If so how much?

A: They had a selection of them a couple of months back and were fair priced, but that is something that sells fast. Calling them is the best option to see what they have.

- Ken Richardson (5 years ago)

A: Not for sale at the moment. Sorry!

Q: Do you sell ammunition ?

A: Yes they do...was there last Saturday and bought some.

- Renee Gonzalez (3 years ago)

- Karl S (7 years ago)

A: Yes with an adult

- Jose Guzman (7 years ago)

A: No real guns

- John Jason Chun (7 years ago)

A: You can shoot on the range with an adult 21yrs or older. You have to be 12 to do Paintball. Any age for Motorcross with parents signature.

- Michael Murphy (7 years ago)

Q: What are prices on museum tour?

A: Either 10 or 12 bucks, can't remember, either way it's totally worth it, I'd go again.

- Ray Metzger II (AllWhoWander) (7 years ago)

A: $15.00. the tour has now been extended so it is three hours long. You will never see that great line up anywhere.

- Leyder Ness (7 years ago)

Q: If a person from West Virginia was to buy a firearm there, do you ship it all the way here or would I have to go to Colorado to pick it up??

A: Call Dragonman he will ship it to FFL of your choice near you. Then you do paperwork and take possession in your state.

- Pete Sturtevant (a year ago)

A: He informed us that he can ship parts to you directly. But the lower receiver or in your case, the whole firearm, would be shipped to your local FFL shop.

- Ryanne Jennifer (a year ago)

A: If you pick it up in person you have to go through a background check if you have it shipped out of state, you have to have them send it to another gun dealer and they will have to do a background check ! I would check with dragon man himself and ask that question and possibly youΓÇÖre a gun shop dealer every states probably a little different ItΓÇÖll probably hear differently from other gun shops, so it doesnΓÇÖt hurt to ask other people

Awesome, we took our concealed carry class there. Melissa did an amazing job on class and range time even with the snow squall that happened. I highly recommend Dragonmans for classes and or equipment. We are definitely coming back.

SMITH & Wesson preformance

I had an issue with a long gun while tuning a gas block at the range. Catastrophic malfunction. I thought if DM had a smith, I might as well leave it there. Melissa greeted me and after a discussion about the problem, came up with a multifaceted solution and even called me back the same day. My wife even commented about how knowledgeable she was during the conversation. Thanks for being so accommodating and willing to help. A very rare quality anymore and more appreciated than I cane express here.

excellent service, knowledgeable staff, and a very well run range. I've never done a range in the usa so it was nice to encounter someone who was willing to be patient with myself as I handled my first pistol.

After calling a few times and being assured that I didn't need tickets, that all I need to do is show up, I booked tickets and flew from Indiana to visit this museum. Eight people showed up and Dragonman himself popped in and said something to the effect of "I don't run tours unless there are at least 10 people. If more don't show up we'll cancel. This is our last tour this year but you're welcome to show back up next year." Nobody else showed up but thankfully two other employees ran us through the tour anyway. Not a great start but off we went. As a collector, let me come right out and say it: his warehouses have no temperature and humidity control and brown "barn patina" covered everything. Dragonman has far more than he can care for and it shows. If you're a casual onlooker perhaps it's not a big deal but to me my heart sank at every turn. It feels less like a museum and more like a hoarder who has employees who can cram whatever Mel buys in a display. Lost are small details about why a particular piece is important or interesting. It's more like you're walking through a warehouse. Our tour guides did their best to point a few things out but it's a guided tour so there's no sticking around to closely observe anything and certainly no placards beyond a few that will list year, make, model or something to that effect. If you're a firearms guy save your money and pass on this museum or whatever it is supposed to be. I recommend checking out Cody's Firearms museum. Hours even days can be spent learning and you will support a museum who puts preservation and education front and center, not entertainment. One last thing, as a US Marine GWOT vet, I found their framed pictures of dead insurgents disgusting, tasteless, and unnecessary. It has zero educational value- just shock and awe. I think this best summarizes my tour to Dragonman's: cheap, tasteless, mediocre fun.

Favorite place in Colorado Springs. Great shooting range. Great people.. and an awesome museum

Super good and friendly place to shoot. The range is very well managed and exceptionally safe. The owner, Mel, is a fantastic character. His daughter runs the place and they're always putting on events and having a great time. The 220 yard range is fantastic. I typically use the 120yrd range. The only complaint is the pistol section is limited to 10yards or so. If it went out to 25, Id be thrilled. Mel is a legend. He's one of one in the motorcycle world rebuilding old HD bikes. He also has a nice little machine shop turning out ARs and post samples. I super appreciate his northeastern sense of humor, but that aint for no soybois.

What an awesome, extensive collection of military memorabilia. The tour was two hours of jam packed looking at authentic uniforms, vehicles, arsenal of weapons, and firearms. The Oldies But Goodies Room will make you smile. The tour guide (Jeff and Charles) was very knowledgeable with a great sense of humor. A trip through history from early Americana to the withdrawal from Afghanistan. It was very well worth the trip to experience.

This "museum" is full of fake and reproduction items. Not easy to say how much of it is since you are rushed through the tour.

Me and my wife took our son to shoot an AK47 for his 14 Birthday and we had an amazing time. Charlie and Justin did an Incredible job making sure it was easy to rent and shoot the guns and they were so nice. Thank You so much I recommend to everyone. Bring Cash and have a Blast. Salute from an Army Soldier!

So have been going to DM’s for 20 years now…..my last trip was today. To use the range or go to the museum….its cash only, no cards…..with one caveat, if you buy something then they will add the range/museum to it. No reason given as to why, just because….the worker at the counter just pointed to the sign “cash for range and museum”, he said I would have to buy something then he could add the cost of the range on my card…..which doesn’t make it just “cash” to use the range if I’m not mistaken. Turned around and walked out….never again!
