Questions & Answers

Q: Can you draw from the holdster and shoot?

A: No. I believe the range rules are in one of the photos. You cannot draw from the holster from behind the bench nor can you shoot from in front of the bench.

Q: Is the range re-opened? I was told that it was closed for maintenance for awhile.

A: It's reopen now

A: ItΓÇÖs closed again

- Joseph Schap (10 months ago)

A: Update: Someone shot out the supports for one of the errant round barriers on the rifle range and so the rifle range has been closed for about a year now. Last I heard, from an RSO about 6 months ago, they're hoping to be able to begin construction on the rifle range next year (2025), maybe in the spring. Currently, you can only use the pistol and shotgun ranges.

Q: For someone who is handicapped, what would be the least busiest time suggested to come?

A: Mon - Thur 10 am - 2 pm

- G R (5 years ago)

A: Go whenever! There's handicapped parking next to each range and easy access to the benches. Everyone is friendly and accommodating, don't worry!

Q: I have called the listed number many times with no response. Can you please provide an overdue update on the questions if the work to reopen the rifle range and what is the target date for reopening?

A: Pretty sure MD DNR doesn't operate this Google questions section, man. Last I heard, from a park ranger about 6 months ago, they're *HOPING* to get construction underway in the spring of 2025 but nothing was set in stone at the time. I believe he told me that they had decided to just rebuild everything that needed maintenance since they were already going to be down for such a long period of time anyway.

Q: Has the rifle range been repaired yet?

A: Still closed

Q: Can people from other states shoot here? We live in Southern Chester County Pennsylvania. Very close to Maryland.

A: Yes u can be from outta state

- Michael Mamoliti (3 years ago)

Q: Is this a free range ? if not what is the cost ? .and do i need to bring my own target stands for hand gun ?

A: The cost is $10 and you need your own stands for the pistol and rifle ranges.

- Matthew hammond (4 years ago)

A: 10 bucks and bring your own stand

- MegaMiniac S (3 years ago)

Q: Do you take credit cards or cash only?

A: Cash

- Selfamade Legend (4 years ago)

Q: What form of ID is required?

A: None. There is a drop box to leave $10 in. There is a paper to fill out and then you leave half in the envelope with the money and keep the other half as proof of payment.

- Hugh Glass (4 years ago)

Q: I have a Model 70 300 win mag I just purchased for hunting. I was wondering of that is okay for the range.

A: I have seen no restrictions on the type of gun or ammo that you can use as there are 3 ranges. Pistol, rifle, and skeet. However, automatic weapons are prohibited and so is firing your gun less than a second or 2 between shots

IΓÇÖd like to give a personal shout out to Tim Gray for being a hypocrite whiner. This range is fanstastix and us out of staters paid for it more than you Marylanders, plus I see reviews of you shopping in our surrounding states so what gives dude? Lmao anyway this range is amazing and has a lot of great qualities, definitely an excellent shooting range for sure! As an out of stater from DE, I will continue going & giving them my money while enjoying a beautifully maintained range. Thx Tim and tell your Maryland people to drive better and stop hogging up Delaware, thx.

This is the best range within 30 miles. It is 100 yards for rifle and 50 yards for pistol. They also have a shotgun area, but you need to bring your own thrower. You will also need to bring you own target stand with the center of the target 52 inches above the ground. Most who come are safe and friendly, most. Sometimes range officers will be present sometimes they will not be. If they are not there shooters coordinate cease fires. There is no touching firearms or magazines while the range is cold.

Have been shooting here for over three years with no issues, to include multiple pleasant game warden encounters. This morning I was told to leave in lieu of a fine for shouldering a 9mm braced pistol. When asked what law or range rules were broken, the game warden told me "it's the office managers rule" that you can't shoulder a pistol on the pistol range. Entirely against current ATF ruling and definition of a pistol with a brace (I'd understand being asked to leave if I was shooting an 8" 5.56 AR pistol rattling teeth and annoying the other patrons). If you are going to make range rules, POST THEM, and people will have no reason to question why theyre being asked to leave or threatened with imaginary fines that a third grader could beat in court. I cued the warden to the board hanging right there on the range and asked him which rule myself and the other patron also shooting a braced pistol violated, and his response was once again "it's the office managers rule." I very much look forward to coming back in the near future and seeing that new regulation/range rule posted. Also, if you check their website, right now, there is no mention of shouldering a pistol braced weapon. Do better, enforce laws and range rules when people break them and don't make up rules or threaten people with made up ones.

DonΓÇÖt spend $25 going in rude workers. I donΓÇÖt recommend going yeah itΓÇÖs good for pistols, but it has a lot of problems.

Nice outdoor self policing pistol range. Went on a Sunday morning, opens at 9am. Bring your own targets and stands. Pay 10.00 range fee at the office before continuing on to the range parking lot.

I paid $50 for an annual pass. I want my money back after finding out that the rifle and shotgun ranges are not available to use.

Peaceful. Everyone there was friendly and had no problems working together to get the casing up.

I love that they have three separate shooting ranges and very inexpensive. You just have to fill out a form at the entrance and drop $10. The only concern is lack of a safety personnel to monitor safety.

Decent facilities, make sure you understand range etiquette at this range, very few posted rules so don't be afraid to ask people if you don't understand. You must stop at the building down the road from the range to register if you haven't been there before, you can't miss it as you must drive past the building to get to the range.

10$ fee at the office. Targets must be 54 inches from the ground. Separate rifle, pistol, and clay ranges. About 10 booths. Often there is a safety Official. Very safe and formal range.

The range itself is very nice but man this place is sketchy. I don't know if the range officers are actually paid workers or volunteers, but if they are getting paid they need to be fired. There has been way too many occasions where I am down range and I look up at the line and I see people handling firearms. Please shooters STAY BEHIND THE YELLOW LINE WHEN THE RANGE IS COLD!

The setup is nice. It's better to go here when it's cold or the weather is bad since it seems most people are unwilling to go when it's cold.

Love the ranges. Like to get there early and set up. Then wait till it's 9:00 a long with 2 or 3 others. We all normally get a chance to talk before it's time to shoot. As more people come you go cold so they can set up.

Its always a waste of my money everytime I come here. It's 10:39 on a Tuesday and the pistol range is packed and I was dumb enough to pay first, won't be returning.

The range has a great set up. It has gotten to be dangerous when the RSOs aren't present though....I actually stopped going there because I almost got into an actual fistfight more than once when asking someone to take their rifle magazine out and open their chamber before everyone went downrange. I will not be going back. (I repeat, this has happened more than once....the last time, the guy had a round still chambered!!)

Got attitude from the safety officer about my target height before I even put my new cardboard or targets. Had old targets on there and he acted like I shot them there. Yet he allows people to muzzle you on the line. Maybe week days are better.

Who ever said it is fubar is wrong. We the People who shoot there take care of each other very safe and if someone is being unsafe they will be called out right away. I enjoy the range and I'm sure my fellow patriotes do too...Thanks Paul.
