- Lawrence Tan (6 years ago)
A: Yes
- Sanjeev Gupta (6 years ago)
Q: Any advice for the first timers? I am interested in Clay shooting. Any tips will be appreciated.
A: Use the on staff instructor, JD is very good. U dont need a shotgun but do buy your own ammo. Shoot practice trap, then graduate to skeet field then sporting clays. Warning !! This is very addictive behavior, there is no known cure for it, lots of money seems to help.
- Johnny Snead (7 years ago)
A: They have instructors/private lessons. If you've never shot before there's nothing I can tell you over message you need to be taught from the ground up. However elm fork's staff is amazing and will teach you everything from proper safety to form
- Dillon Codianne (7 years ago)
Q: Any tips on what bullets to buy to try out pistol range ?
A: Federal aluminum, get it from Walmart, 18 cents per round for 9mm
- Chris Jackson (7 years ago)
A: FMJ. Cheapest rounds you can find.
- Bob Thorman (7 years ago)
A: I recommend the cheapest you can find with brass cases. Normally i buy from walmart, cheaper than dirt, or online.
- Jack9579 O. (Jack9579) (7 years ago)
A: No tracers, fmj will be best bet
- Miguel Ruvalcaba (7 years ago)
A: Ones that go ΓÇ£BANG BANGΓÇ¥ knucklehead!

A: Yes, the 100 yard rifle range.

A: Yes, on the rifle and pistol range
- Jeffrey Neustifter (6 years ago)

I had an outstanding experience at Elm Fork Shooting Sports, thanks to Jonathan! I came in needing help zeroing my rifle optic, and he went above and beyond to assist me. His knowledge, patience, and attention to detail made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Jonathan took the time to explain each step, ensuring I understood how to make the necessary adjustments. His professionalism and expertise were evident, and thanks to his guidance, my rifle is now perfectly dialed in. If youΓÇÖre looking for a range with top-tier staff who genuinely care about helping shooters improve, this is the place to go. Huge thanks to Jonathan for the exceptional serviceΓÇöIΓÇÖll definitely be back!

They open during business hours, so understandably everyone goes on the weekends, and as a result, it gets quite crowded. The 100 yard range has some restrictions re ammo, sitting, scopes etc so I recommend checking online before visiting. The bays are definitely old and are showing their age. When I went, the 22 gallery was closed, maybe for repairs, and this is something that should have been noted on the website. Other than that, the tactical bay was fun (you don't have to move lanes when switching from rifle to pistol). I constantly had to remind myself to slow down to abide by their 1 shot/sec policy, but this isn't a huge deal. Overall, a solid choice as the only commutable outdoor range in the Dallas area, I can see myself coming back if the weather's nice. And for some reason this place is coded as a grocery store when paying by card 😅

I genuinely wish this location would shut down. ItΓÇÖs just four minutes away from Las Colinas dog park, apartment complex's, and Campion Trail. The gunshots are extremely stressful to the residents and animals near by.

Property and facilities are awesome, but the service in the shotgun pro club was not polite and the range has a silly rule about tactical shotguns. First, the gentlemen who set me up at a practice stand told me he would go through the pricing with me after as if it wouldnΓÇÖt be an issue. He also told me he would make sure I got a military discount. Then after I was done shooting and went to check out, he told me that they charged for clays in increments of 25. That would have been nice to know, because I ended up shooting 34 but paying for 50. He didnΓÇÖt give me an itemized receipt or show me what he charged me for so I donΓÇÖt know how much the range fee, the pack of shells, or price per 25 was. I also vehemently disagree with the rationale behind not permitting tactical shotguns. I understand that this range is designed primarily for the sporting shotgun crowd and that doesnΓÇÖt jive with what you would typically use a tactical shotgun for, but thereΓÇÖs nothing specifically unsafe about a shotgun with a shorter barrel. The key is that it is used safely by the shooter (i.e., not over-rotating when tracking a clay so that you have unintended targets in the background).

I've been going here with my dad and granddad back when it was Winchester shooting range and now Elm Fork. I've had nothing but good things to say about this facility and staff and their safety policies are fair and strict as it should be. James Kitchens

A nice outdoor range with reasonable rules, enough lanes to keep everyone busy when hot, and some fun metal target practice lanes. Looking forward to coming back when I have more time and ammo.

Had a wonderful time shooting there. The young lady who works there who Loves Blue suggested that I start off with Practice Trap Stand before shooting 5 Stand. It was a wonderful suggestion. I wish I knew her name.

Been an avid firearms user for over 30yrs and this facility for me has to much chaos and to many people where things can go wrong!! Huge facilities but costs are enormous!! You can drop $100 easy with each visit!! The range officers are very sharp and knowledgeable and are willing to help, so be welcoming and friendly!! They are watching out for you and your family safety!! 50 bucks a month is a solid investment for a membership not 100$ +

**Review Title: Disappointing Customer Service Experience** I recently visited Elm Fork shooting range establishment and had a mixed experience. While the venue itself is great and the offerings on the field are impressive, I was disappointed by the customer service. The woman at the front desk had a noticeable attitude, which made the initial interaction less welcoming. It's important for businesses to ensure that their staff provides friendly and helpful service, as it greatly impacts the overall experience. I believe that with a more positive and approachable front-line staff, this place could enhance its reputation even further. I hope they consider hiring someone who embodies a more customer-friendly attitude.

Called to get info on what types of rifles are available for rent, man on the phone said check the website, and just hung up on me as I was letting him know there's no details on the website. Was looking forward to using this range but I guess I'll take my business somewhere else.

This place completely exceeded my expectations. As a young woman from the East Coast who has never shot a gun before, Chantay and John made this experience incredible. Chantay walked me through every step of how to handle a gun, how to load it, and reassured me of my nervousness. She made me feel so comfortable. Once my friend and I got outside and set up at the skeet shooting stalls, John met us out there. From the moment John saw my nervousness, he was literally a saint. He was extremely thorough with showing me how to shoot and had me practice without bullets to get me comfortable. After the 4th bullet, I was having so much fun! As two young woman, we were pretty intimidated. John spoke so much confidence into us, never made us feel uncomfortable, and made us feel so empowered. John sat with us the entire time and gave us an amazing experience. I cannot say more great things about John. As a souvenir, they let me keep the clay disc and even wrote the date! I will definitely be coming back on my next visit. Prices were great, and I can't wait to come back already.

Been going here for years because it used to be friendly. The last few times the RSO's have been straight disrespectful (looking at you large woman at the pistol bays). Talking down to everyone like they are dumb. Meanwhile the table next to us had a full sized AR15 (in the pistol bay) that was flagging everyone and never pointed down range and they were treated respectfully yet never corrected. We aren't newbies either, several of us are Veterans including Army Rangers. We understand firearms safety. Made shooting uncomfortable and not fun at all. 22 shooting gallery has 4 different bays which usually none of them work ever. If one does work they charge a high fee to use it. I am giving it a two star because the people on the shotgun side are much nicer. You would think with the price we pay the equipment would be better or at a minimum working.

Modern skeet remote controllers, shade and table on each field, shotguns to rent and shells to buy. There are also rifle and pistol ranges and more. Ranges are safe and staff are friendly.

It's always a great time at Elm Fork. Whether it's clay shooting or rifle and pistol, it's always enjoyable. If you have a chance or get board of shooting paper, I would highly suggest their steel target bays. The dueling tree is fun to test your skills against friends. The only downside to the range, in my opinion, is that some of the adjacent ranges are still hot (still shooting) while your range is cold (not shooting) and you go down range to put up targets. Kinda weirds me out to be down range on the pistol side, and the steel range is still hot, and the only thing that separates you from that range is some sheet metal. Same thing when on the 100yrd range and the 50 yard is still hot. Granted, with all of this said, this is just my opinion, and it is safe to put up targets when the range is cold.
