Elzy Pearson Shooting Range

Q: Is there a fee?
A: No fees, no range staff.
- Dave Zinn (5 years ago)
A: If you Google it, it says there's a fee. But, I think that's on the cop/military side. The public side is just open, nobody watching. It's nice when there's nobody else there. You can Google it, but it only has info about the private side. The photos on Google maps shows the public range.
- Trace M-K (4 months ago)
A: No. Free public range with posted safety rules.
- Ed OConor (a year ago)
Q: Can you rent targets here? Or do you need to bring your own? TIA!
A: Your have to bring your own targets.
- G And A (6 months ago)
Q: Is there electricity?
A: No. It's just desert and concrete with a tin roof.
- Trace M-K (4 months ago)
Q: Do you need to bring your own targets to this range?
A: Yes, and chairs.
- Bill Casale (6 years ago)
Q: Do you need to bring ID with and is the a charge
A: Yeah, no charge and ID required when I went a couple weeks ago.
- G And A (5 months ago)
A: I've only been there on the weekend, but there was no charge, and no ID check.
- Johnathan Davidow (5 months ago)
Q: Can you shoot a 50. ?
A: I didn't see any signs indicating otherwise, so I'd assume it's okay, but I can't say 100% it's okay. I would say that those who go there may be a little intimidated though. 😲
- G And A (5 months ago)
A: Absolutely! We have. There's nobody there to oversee everything. So, just assume anyone around you doesn't know proper firearm etiquette.
- Trace M-K (4 months ago)
Q: What distance are available? Can I shoot 1k
A: It's 100 yards
- Trace M-K (4 months ago)
A: Nope
- D.J. Remer (a year ago)
Q: Are there stands to pin targets to? Or do you have to bring your own stands?
A: No. Bring stands. If breezy, blocks or spikes to hold in ground help too.
- Ed OConor (a year ago)
A: You have to bring your own
- Marcus Williams (a year ago)
Q: How far out does the range go?
A: 100 yards on bay 2. But, we've never noticed a difference in distance, regardless of where we set up. I think the bays are on the cop/military side, divided by a fence.
- Trace M-K (4 months ago)
A: Handgun ranges are 25 yds
- Ed OConor (a year ago)
Q: are steel targets allowed?
A: Yes. No glass or makeshift targets like cans or bottles. You need to clean up all your contributions afterward.
- Ed OConor (a year ago)
A: Yes

Great range, but remember there's no RSO so safety is your responsibility

Its ok. Concreet benches and the only issue is the usual rapid fire guys brass hitting you in the face. Everyone has been cool about calling the range safe for target set up too

My husband brought me here to practice shooting, it was sooo much fun. You have to bring your own target practice and chair though, however the people are very respectful with each other, I get to yell "ceasefire" to set up target practice 😜 awesome 😎

As far as I know the best outdoor range in the area. Free of charge, the people there were all extremely respectful, we would call "timeout", "go cold", everyone would put unloaded weapons where they could be seen, changed targets, could go down range, then when everyone agreed we would all resume again. Bring a field chair, bring some drinks, snacks, practice however long you want, we were there for 3 hours.

Oct 19th 2024 took my father in law and wife shooting. It was about 1pm. No to busy only 4 other groups. Was able to get the end table. Stayed until 5pm. Was a great day. Last note. For those of you who are disabled, very accessible, sidewalks all the way to the table. The only thing was no accessible bathrooms.

ItΓÇÖs free and has limited shade. There is no power or water there, but just a porta potty. There is also no range master, people are generally accommodating to when you ask for a cease fire to set up targets. It can get crowded at times if you donΓÇÖt get there early in the morning. You donΓÇÖt need a 4x4 to get there either.

Barebones public shooting range. Pack in and pack out all your gear. Get in where you fit in kinda deal. Sweet find when itΓÇÖs not loaded with people and you have a whole section to yourself.

I am grateful that the people of Casa Grande have provided us a safe place to shoot our firearms. There is no range master present yet the shooters cooperate with one another to keep the range hot or cold. Shooters are kind to others sharing tips and guidance for new shooters or the best sources for accessories and ammunition. The city provides the schedule for hours of operation and location for the free use on their website.

Excellent free shooting range. Cement shooting tables. Remember to bring a folding chair and a broom to sweep up brass and plenty of water.

I like coming out to the Elzy Pearson. I'm out there every month. It comes with some things, though. There may be trash laying about and there are no RSOs in sight. Luckily, I'm an RSO, and I don't mind picking up a thing or two. So if you're okay with that (and the drive) this might be the move!

My first experience at a shoot range. I enjoyed being outside and the feeling of being safe with the range

Went on a cool Thursday morning late in March. Light crowd, one of the pistol ranges no longer has a canopy. I had that range to myself for about an hour. Over all a good experience
