Questions & Answers

Q: If I bring my own ammunition does it have to be frangible? I have been here before and used factory FMJ and JHP ammo, did something change? Asking for a relative... :)

A: No. Nothing has changed.

- GA Firing Line (a year ago)

Q: How old u have to be to shoot?

A: 12 years old

- GA Firing Line (2 years ago)

Q: Are gun suppressors legal in Ga.

A: Yes

- GA Firing Line (2 years ago)

Q: How old do you have to be to shoot

A: Minimum age to be inside the Range is 12 with and an adult . 18 yrs old to shoot rifle/long gun Must be 21 yrs old to shoot pistol / handguns, unless with a parent or has written and verified consent of parent.

- GA Firing Line (3 years ago)

Q: What is the return policy for a new unused gun .

A: I've never returned one at Ga Firing Line. But when I was younger I had done that twice at two separate stores. Brought back the new day unused. Unless things have changed I believe once you purchase it used or not it's technically considered a used gun and you lose up to 40% of the value depending on the gun, the shop and so on. Because they now have to turn around and resale it discounted but still for enough to make a profit.

- Brian Combs (5 years ago)

A: Give them a call, or better yet, bring the gun back and talk personally with a manager. A lot of legal paperwork is involved in weapons purchasing. I have a feeling most sellers won't take a gun back, especially a handgun. They might offer a store credit, or do a buy-back, but it will cost you. Even if the gun hasn't been fired, there might be legal ramifications once the gun left the store, etc. Good luck!

- Smith (5 years ago)

Q: Are Shotguns allowed?

A: Shotguns are allowed, but they do not allow shot. Slugs only, unless that's changed.

- David Dalton (6 years ago)

A: Ditto

- Donna Herfurth (6 years ago)

A: it's rifles and pistols, generally low velocity, they will inspect ammo. Shotguns are scatter guns and are a hazard I'm close quarter ranges, although this range is better and larger than Remington. You may want to stick to outdoor with your scatter gun. Not endorsing, Kennesaw had a new club Governor, it had inside skeet as it's huge, it's membership driven so bring your no limit credit card. i would suggest to check GA WMA site as there is an outdoor range an hour or so Northeast of Marietta

- Stefan Attaway (6 years ago)

Q: Whats the cost to use the range if i bring my own firearm and ammo?

A: $22/hr without membership.

- Jeff Kelly (2 months ago)

Q: I want my wife and daughter to learn about guns, is there a female at your business for them to connect with? I also would like them to practice some of the guns that are recommended for women to use.

A: I'm not sure if there are female employees, but they do have a large selection of guns you can rent. I tried a few before purchasing and found it to be helpful.

- Chad Ellsworth (a year ago)

Q: Can I bring my pellet air rifles and full auto bb guns to this range?

A: Honestly I have no idea. I'd call and ask.

- lilnicho_ 99 (2 years ago)

Q: Do they have a Desert Eagle, .357 Magnum or .50 AE, available for rental? IΓÇÖm trying to take my friend to a place to shoot for his birthday and I really want to surprise him.

A: We do not, but we do have about 60 other guns to try.

Georgia Firing Line: A Top-Tier Shooting Destination Georgia Firing Line has truly outdone themselves with their remodeled sales floorΓÇöitΓÇÖs absolutely beautiful! The layout is clean, modern, and makes browsing an enjoyable experience. But beyond aesthetics, their inventory is incredibly well-roundedΓÇöthereΓÇÖs truly something for everyone, no matter the budget or shooting preference. Whether youΓÇÖre looking for a high-end firearm or a reliable budget-friendly option, they have it covered. Another major highlight is their extensive NFA inventory, including a great selection of suppressors. Their partnership with Silencer Shop makes the buying process seamless, eliminating much of the hassle that can come with purchasing NFA items. If youΓÇÖre in the market for a suppressor or other regulated items, this is definitely the place to go. Their gunsmithing services are also top-notch. The skilled professionals here do excellent work, whether itΓÇÖs custom modifications, repairs, or full builds. ItΓÇÖs always reassuring to know youΓÇÖre leaving your firearm in the hands of experts. If I had to nitpick, IΓÇÖd love to see a 180-degree range setup for their competitions. The matches they host in the evenings are already great, but having the ability to shoot in a full 180-degree environment would take them to the next level, especially for competitors looking for a more dynamic experience. One thing IΓÇÖm really excited about is their Hike and Shoot tripΓÇöIΓÇÖve heard great things, and IΓÇÖm hoping to participate in one soon! IΓÇÖll be sure to update my review after experiencing it firsthand. Overall, Georgia Firing Line is a fantastic shop and range that keeps raising the bar. From their stunning remodel and extensive inventory to their excellent NFA selection and gunsmithing services, theyΓÇÖre a go-to spot for shooters of all levels. Highly recommended!

Big attitude change. This was my go-to range for the longest time until some new hires ruined it. Last three visits I have been treated very poorly by the new guy with the large dark beard. Ranging from being chewed out for asking a question about the membership to being kicked off the range for violating an ΓÇ£unsurpressed rifle ruleΓÇ¥ that isnΓÇÖt posted anywhere and I wasnΓÇÖt informed on. They go above and beyond to make sure you feel lesser-than at each interaction. It has turned into the most unwelcoming range I have ever been to. Membership canceled.

Took the Sunday pistol 101 course with Dalton and had a great experience. Walked away with a bunch of knowledge and I plan on taking the next course levels. We didn't own a gun so he allowed us to shoot a couple rentals. When we were in the range, I told him I had my eye on a particular gun, and he ran a rental down for us so we could test it out. Really patient and relaxed which helped us while shooting. Take the class!

First time at GA Firing Line and took DaltonΓÇÖs Pistol 101 course. Great instructor, ex Army Ranger so I know heΓÇÖs the best, funny guy, got right down to basics and everyone felt comfortable by the end! CanΓÇÖt wait for 102, 103, etc!

I attended a Pistol 101 class with Dalton, and he was an excellent instructor, with a wry sense of humor while still focusing on safety. He also gave a lot of individual attention where needed to myself and other people in the class. In the store itself, all of the employees were very eager to help and provide any information needed and the ranges were very well maintained. Will definitely be returning!

Took Pistol 101 (Gedde Wilson) class here. It was very informative, detailed. The instructor was very knowledgeable about his craft, answered all my questions. Very helpful. Hands-on training was great! I left with confidence when it comes to handling and firing a weapon.

Came in to drop off an upper for gun work, stopped to look around at everything and was very impressed! As another fellow gun store employee at another shop they were attentive and very kind to talk to! Great nice selection and very clean! We always recommend people to them!

Informative staff out front answered all my noob questions about building my M&P 15-22 (while Chris the gunsmith repaired the detend springs and safety I damaged while replacing the grip... without making me feel like a noob :0). Informed me that my vertical foregrip I installed was illegal and removed it for me (Thank you so much). Consulted with me on the feasibility/pros and cons of trying to put a folding brace on it and zeroed out my scope and sights. All for a cost effective price on the spot via a walk-in (I called the day before). Well staffed, well stocked establishment with knowledgeable agents and gunsmiths available to help you in a timely fashion. Will definitely be back👍🏽

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at the gun range, and a huge part of that was thanks to Charles, who went above and beyond to make sure my two sisters and I felt comfortable and confident. As beginners, we were all a bit nervous, but Charles was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and reassuring. From the moment we arrived, he took the time to explain the basics of firearm safety, handling, and proper stance in a way that was easy to understand and put into practice. He made sure we each had the right equipment and adjusted everything to fit us perfectly. Throughout the session, Charles was there when we needed him, offering helpful tips and encouragement, and his calm and clear instruction helped us feel at ease despite being a bit green to shooting. By the end of our time there, we all felt more empowered and comfortable with the firearms, and we had a blast! ItΓÇÖs clear that Charles is not only an expert in his field but also genuinely passionate about helping people learn and enjoy the sport safely. If youΓÇÖre a beginner or just looking for expert guidance, I highly recommend visiting this range and asking for Charles. He made our experience enjoyable, educational, and truly memorable!

I had this little project gun, a Colt Mustang 380, that I had done a modest refurb to, then I brought it to Georgia Firing Line to be Cerakoted and engraved. Just to be on the safe side, I wrote down *everything* exactly as I requested it to be done, and I went to the gunsmith window at GaFL. After a personal consultation to ensure everything was clear and understood, I handed over the gun and instructions. First – it took 5 WEEKS just for engraving and Cerakote. Now ok, I can wait if I am getting a quality job – but that’s not what happened, as you’ll see here: Issue 1: Engraving: First, the word “Mustang” was supposed to be in italics; that was explicit in the written directions. That wasn’t done. Second, I requested that first the slide gets engraved, then the Cerakote gets applied. The “TBR” looks fine and as expected, but the other side that says “Mustang,” I have no idea what happened here. The word looks like it was carved with a Ka-Bar. “Sometimes different metals react differently to the laser,” I was told. Except … it’s the same metal – it’s the same slide – and both sides look completely different. What it looks like is that perhaps the “TBR” was engraved *before* the Cerakote (as requested), and the “Mustang” was engraved *after* the Cerakote (gosh, who knows). Not sure, but the quality and even the rendering of the same font is totally different between the two sides. Issue 2: Damage: I got home and removed the slide, and I see that the slide stop spring is totally jacked up and not at all in the condition I left it in. I went back to some earlier photos I took of the gun when I was initially working on it, and the difference / damage is obvious. Did they lose the spring and have to refurbish one? Did they drop it and step on it, and have to do a repair? Unknown. But what’s most frustrating is not that they damaged it, but that *they must have known they damaged it, and they chose not to tell me*. Now I am out a slide, and I had to purchase a NOS slide stop spring to replace the original. To their credit (kinda), the fellow there refunded $65 for the engraving, although the slide looks too cruddy to use, and he gave me a $100 credit to the shop for future engraving or Cerakote. But honestly, I’m not sure I’ll risk going back. Oh, and no recompense for the bent and/or replaced slide lock spring. Well, they still have gun shop to visit – uh huh. When I went a few months earlier to pick up a transferred suppressor, it took at least 30 minutes! First they couldn’t find the can, then they couldn’t find the paperwork. Then the person finishing up the paperwork kept getting distracted talking with others while he was working on my transfer. They finally let me go without charging the transfer fee because it took so long. So, all in all quite disappointed.

Attended Gedde WilsonΓÇÖs Pistol 101 class as a first-time pistol owner, and it was incredibly helpful! Even being a ΓÇ£learning the basicsΓÇ¥ class, there was a ton of great information. The most helpful for me was being taught how to *properly* hold and shoot the pistol. Wilson was hands-on with each one of us to make sure we were doing everything correctly and explaining why it all matters. It was a great experience!!

Dropped off a barrel for work. The team accepted the drop off even though I was a few minutes after closing, called me first thing the next morning to discuss options, and started on it that day. They initially quoted me a week, which sounded great, but actually had it ready the next day. Quality looks fantastic and pricing was very reasonable. Will definitely be back.

Ladies, if youΓÇÖve been thinking about taking a beginner self-defense, pistol class, take the Pistol 101 class at Georgia Firing Line in Marietta. Classes are offered on weekend afternoons, which makes it very convenient. It was easy to sign up online, show up to class and learn a lot in just 2 hours, which included practice time on the range. Dalton was the instructor for my class and he was excellent. Highly recommend!!

A few days ago I left a pretty angry review. Took my old Remington 12A in to get a feed problem fixed, and it didn't get fixed. They saw the review, and reached out quite quickly. We figured out the mistake quickly, and they're taking care of it. The whole interaction was courteous and professional. Everyone makes mistakes, these guys own up to it and fix it promptly.

Amazing service, IΓÇÖm seriously not the kind of person to write reviews but after an horrible experience at another gun shop in Jasper I felt like this place deserved a shout out. Specifically Zach, extremely knowledgeable, treated me like a friend, all while covering multiple peoples jobs. All employees were amazing even while being busy on a Friday but Zach went above and beyond. Spend your money here, they deserve it. Outstanding selection, really cool to see a shop with transferable autos. Even though IΓÇÖll probably never be able to afford one, just cool to even look at them. The membership program is well worth your money. Bravo

Very professional gunsmithing services. I brought my shotgun in to have sights put on it. They had my gun for a while, but every time I called to inquire they were very polite and explained to me why it was taking so long. When I got the gun back I was very satisfied with the work done and they gave me a discount because of the delay in receiving my shotgun. CouldnΓÇÖt recommend this place more
