Garland Public Shooting Range

Q: Veterans discount? How much and what days please?
A: veteran disc and cost to shoot 100 meter range
- Fred Gonzales (8 months ago)
Q: can you shoot shotguns at paper targets or is it clays only?
A: They also have a lane at the very end of the pistol range where you can throw out crates and blast them if you're just trying to test the gun out.
- Dan Cartwright (6 years ago)
A: There is one lane on the 50 yard rifle range dedicated to patterning shotguns.
- Lawrence Tan (6 years ago)
Q: Can i record myself shooting at this range??
A: I don't think there should be a problem
- R. I. (4 years ago)
Q: Can you bring a guest who WONT be shooting? My Dad is visiting and wants to be a spectator only. He doesnΓÇÖt want to watch video or fill out paperwork. Just watch.
A: no
- Fred Gonzales (8 months ago)
A: No Spectators on the range .
- Zach (4 years ago)
Q: Do they rent shotguns if so what gauge(s)
A: They do rent shotguns. I believe 12 and 20 guage
- Tristan Carpenter (6 years ago)
A: I rented a 12 guage, $15.
- Todd Edwards (6 years ago)
A: They might have one or two to rent and im pretty sure they would all be 12 gauge. They dont have a huge amount of rentable guns so you might just call them to confirm exactly what they have in stock to rent.
- Alex Morrison (6 years ago)
Q: Does this location allow setting up a Chronograph?
A: Yes, you have to do it during the cease fire, but you need be quick and ready. You can't make everyone wait on you. I would go during the week if you can so they are not so busy.
- William Hardy (4 months ago)
Q: how much to shoot
A: $25 a lane
- Ed Terry (8 months ago)
Q: Does your range offer free/priced disposal of old/live ammunition?
A: yes
- Fred Gonzales (8 months ago)
Q: Do you require ID & Background Checks ? What about Black Powder Revolvers ?
A: They require you to join. That is $25. for the safety class. No to backgroumd checks, unless you are buying a firearm. They do allow black powder and revolvers. I do not work there but shoot there regularly.
- Jackie Hall (a year ago)
Q: Looking for a place to try a few guns for a relatively new shooter, shot a few guns in the past but don't know much, would this be the place to check out and is it pricey?

As good as an open gun range can be! Affordable pricing and the owner is super nice. I would give it 6 stars out of 5 if I could solely because they are open E V E R Y day of the year. Christmas day, New years Day, Thanksgiving Day, and you bet they are open! I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of a major disaster would hit the region. I see them totally opening up shop like nothing is happening!

Great firing range, first time going. Yes itΓÇÖs $50 for first timers, some people failed to read that on the website and giving bad reviews for it. Ridiculous. Concern #1 is safety at this range, theyΓÇÖre not gonna hold your hand or be your best buddy. But they do their job safely, which is what matters.

I visited this range once a few years ago at the insistence of a former co-worker and havenΓÇÖt returned since. The experience was disappointing for several reasons: 1. Excessive Fees: They charge an "onboarding" fee for new shooters, plus a range fee, and force you to get a cardΓÇöeven if you never plan to return. 2. Ammo Restrictions: FMJ ammo isn't allowed, which is uncommon compared to other ranges. While I primarily use hollow points, FMJ shooters should take note. 3. Shooting Restrictions: YouΓÇÖre required to sit while shooting, which feels impractical for realistic training. The worst part was the staff's attitude, particularly the RSO/owner, who was unnecessarily rude. During a ceasefire, I reached for something *behind* the firing line and was yelled at from several lanes away instead of being approached politely. Other ranges like TargetMasters and Mission Ridge allow standing while shooting and have better customer service. While this range does have a 100-yard outdoor lane, the inability to shoot standing undermines its usefulness. Overall, I wouldnΓÇÖt recommend this range due to the poor service and restrictive policies.

A place for the guys to shoot guns. Not terribly girl friendly due to weather/outdoors and restroom. No echo like the indoor ranges. 2 options for shotguns. Friendly/helpful staff. Always a good time.

Awful won't be back Update: still a terrible range and their personnel do not know the difference between green tip and (what was in the box) soft rounds.

If there is lower than one star, I will give it to them. They tried to rip us off and overcharge us $120 and when we confirmed them about it, he start being rude and saying donΓÇÖt talk over me very bad experience strongly recommended.

I was out riding on the Rowlett trails by the creek and had a round whiz and snap 10 feet in front of me, and hit the tree above me. I wonΓÇÖt lie, it was pretty awesome and got my adrenaline pumping for the rest of the ride, but yΓÇÖall might want to check on that berm of yours. Either that or someone was using fmj that day. Thanks

I just thought about this place and decided to Googled it. I haven't been there in a long, long time, but this range has been located in this spot for many years. I remember at one time it was out into a place called nowhere. Now new neighborhoods, schools, roads, and highways has surrounded it. I was shocked to see it located under a bridge now. I'm not sure if it's under the same owner, but back in the 80s, it was owned by a terrific guy whose name was Jim. Jim and his family were great people. I was a concrete contractor back then, and I did a lot of concrete work around there. He even owned the land on the other side of the river that was in a flood area. He probably sold it because the city wouldn't let him build it up.

From the moment we walked in we were not greeted with a hello. Rather a ΓÇ£show me your ammoΓÇ¥. Then quickly told us we had to buy their ammo but it is expensive. We said never mind we will go else where. As we were walking out the employee was mouthing off. ItΓÇÖs a shame that they would even hire someone that makes paying customers feel that way. There may not be many outdoor ranges near Dallas however trust me your time will be better spent driving in a car and having any interactions with their staff. Thank you for ruining a good thing before it even started. ThatΓÇÖs good culture.

Very helpful owners, and supportive staff. If you are wanting to go shooting and not waste FMJ rounds, go to Garland Shooting range. Get a range card for a year and you are set.

One of the best outdoor ranges. Hand gun, long gun and shotgun with a special area for sabots. I wish there was a 500 yard for long gun shooting.
