Q: Is this range open to the general public or is it a members only styled range?
A: Thank you for contacting us about our range. The George Constance Sr Memorial Rifle Range is managed and owned by a non-profit organization, the Douglas County Fish & Game League. We provide the range to the public for a safe and friendly environment to shoot rifles, shotguns, and pistol. We don't have a set fee to use the facilities, but do ask for your support to keep this range operational by a donation. We have a concrete firing line with concrete benches that has a canopy roof over it. We have sandbags, hearing, and eye protection for use as well. Targets are already set out from 7 yards to 300 yards, so you won't need to go down range. We have a Range Master on duty during our open hours. For more information, you can visit our website or Facebook page. Thank you again for reaching out, and have a great day.

Q: Is this really only open 1 day a week?
A: Joel, Yes, during our winter schedule (December through late April early May), the range is open to the public every Saturday from 10am to 4pm. Our summer starts depending on the weather in April/ May. The schedule is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10am to 5pm. During our sights-in schedule, we are open 7 days a week for October and thought the 3rd week of November. We will close the Saturday of Wisconsin Rifle Deer season and then reopen the first Saturday in December. This year, due to the weather, we are starting our 3 day schedule on March 25th. George Constance Sr Memorial Rifle Range is owned by a non-profit charitable organization called the Douglas County Fish & Game League. We run this facility solely off of donation and volunteers, so our schedule can change due to resources. We do our best to support our community with this facility and appreciate all our patrons for their support. Kristian | Rangemaster

Q: How old do kids have to be to go there
A: There are no age requirements for children to attend the range. Children are the responsibility of their parent, guardian, or chaperone. If the child or minor's skills require direct supervision, it is expected that someone supervise them at all times. However, as always, local and state laws are applicable for anyone unaccompanied by a parent, guardian, or chaperone, who is a minor, to attend the range and use firearms.

The range is alright, the guy running it, not so much. They took away the steel targets from all but the most "extreme" ranges. The reason being "safety" which might have been understandable if it was after an incident. However, the reasoning behind their decision is vague at best and full of logic plot holes. I'm also not so convinced about this emphasis on safety because when I received the range safety brief it was at 140 words per minute. The guy actually had to stop and take a breath before he passed out. When he was done he was out of breath. But you can have this experience only on days when the stars align and the hours posted online are true. Otherwise when you check online and see the range will be open by the time you get there you're greeted by a cardboard sign reading closed. Hope you follow the range on Facebook because that seems to be the only communication they deem necessary.

This is a lovely non-profit small time range tucked away just outside of superior, wisconsin. They accept rifles, pistols, AR platforms, etc. They are donation based so please bring a $5. Master is no-nonsense and willing to offer helpful advice to make sure you have a safe and fun time. Can highly recommend to anyone looking to pop off a couple of rounds.

Range master was super friendly and knowledgeable! A few things to keep in mind 1. You need a brass catcher for any AR platform 2. Remember to bring cash as they do not accept virtual donations at this time Overall great experience!

Update: last time I went I did not know they had updated rules saying I needed a brass catcher for my rifle. My fault for not knowing at the time but the range master wasnΓÇÖt very friendly about it. Will use different range going forward. Went for the first time today, and it did not disappoint. Range master was super polite explaining how things worked there (free targets, sangbags, spotting scopes, cease fires). Was pretty busy, but it did not keep me and my son from having a wonderful time. A little out there in the boonies, but worth the drive!

Fantastic range, RSO was welcoming, helpful & friendly, really knew his stuff. This is by far the nicest range in our area. It's surprising just how nice it is considering it's all ran on donations! Please check in at the office when you arrive & drop a few donation bucks so we can all continue to enjoy this gem!
