I found Jeff through Google as one of the best experiences in Idaho, and I wholeheartedly agree with the prior reviews. I took my father and we had a great time- and most importantly, had the benefit of an amazing instructor that kept us novices safe.

Jeff was awesome and the experience was well worth it! If you are looking at the long range rifle package he is the guy to see. This was hands down amazing and my dad and I learned a lot coming from a pro. You work as a team. I would definitely suggest this if you are interested in learning. Worth every penny. Do yourself a favor and book it!

Very thorough 1-on-1 instruction of long range shooting fundamentals. Prepared with the necessary tools, Jeff assisted with proper scope adjustment for optimal eye relief before sending rounds down range. From there, he explained proper body-to-rifle alignment, hand/posture mechanics, and breathing techniques. After zeroing at 100yrds, we continued drills to 300, 550, and finally to 750 yards. This was a personal first shooting past 250 yards and tremendously rewarding. Prepared with top-grade spotting scope and Kestrel meter, Jeff gave very clear target information allowing me to focus intently on targets through my scope. This provided the ideal environment for learning a reasonably complex task, especially with 10-20mph crosswinds. Thanks again, Jeff for the excellent instruction and enabling a personal shooting sports milestone.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jeff for a Fun Shoot this summer, where he guided me through the use of multiple cool weapons such as the AK47, AR15, and Colt 45 CattlemanΓÇÖs Revolver. It was not only a great time but I also learned a ton from Jeff about the weapons themselves and optimal procedure for using each one. Great location too. Highly recommend this experience to anyone!

I booked a two-hour private lesson with a variety handguns, and it was worth every penny! Jeff is a fantastic teacher, like getting a lesson from your dad, except that he's much nicer and more professional than your dad would be. I hope I'll have time to return for additional training, especially an introduction to rifles!

We can’t say enough great things! My fiancé and I met Jeff at Hurtig Shooting Center the morning after Valentines Day. We chose his Precision Long Range course. We are both comfortable around firearms (both federal LEO’s), but don’t have a ton of experience in longer range (300+ yard) shooting. Reflecting back, the best part is this course would be entirely doable even if you are on the totally novice side. (And he provides everything you would need as well). We started with the basics and moved quickly into the precision .223 rifles. Jeff helped us, and taught us, about dope, elevation/windage changes, sighting in, etc. He explained it all in an easy to understand, informative way, and we both took away knowledge about precision shooting that we did not know before. We were able to push out to 890 yards repeatedly with just the .223 rifles. Jeff taught us more about spotting for each other, and we were able to find, identify, target, and shoot all on our own by the end of it, with Jeff giving instruction if needed. We then moved into the Savage 10 Stealths in 6.5 Creedmore. Those rifles were extremely easy to shoot for how far we were pushing out. We were able to hit the 1,040 yard target repeatedly! Even with a cross breeze! Jeff spotted for us as we took turns trying to hit the various targets. If you are anywhere from just a notice, all the way to a competitive shooter, I can 100% guarantee that you will learn something from Jeff and have an extremely fun time doing it. And he is able to explain it all in a easy to understand, no-pressure atmosphere. We could not stop grinning from ear to ear the entire time. When we go back to Sun Valley, we will be seeing Jeff again as well! This was by far the highlight of our trip. Thank you Jeff!

Jeff helped me go from zero experience behind a rifle to feeling completely comfortable shooting not only rifles but lots of other firearms in preparation for hunting season. He took time to go through every necessary step of the process to do everything safely and develop good shooting habits - if you are looking for help with technique or just a plain good time Jeff is your guy!

Took the whole family over to have a team pistol class with Jeff. Can't recommend him enough. In under an hour, Jeff had my sister (previously not a gun fan) drilling 9/10 on the plate racks at 15 yards. We all ended up going back three times, with my brother and I learning some tactical & wounded wing drills. We will for sure be going back during the ski season.

Our family of 4 booked a "Fun Shoot" package with Jeff the owner. Only one person in our group had any firearm experience. We had a great time shooting 22's then moving to larger caliber guns. Very good instruction, very safe and a fantastic range. This business operates out of The Hurting Center located in North Hailey. We booked a day in advance and we all agreed this was the highlight of our visiy to Sun Valley. Thanks Jeff for a super fun time!

I have been working with Jeff for almost a year now, and every time I meet him at the range, I come away having learned and experienced more than expected. His attention to detail, patience, knowledge, and expertise make for a great learning environment. I would highly recommend Jeff's instruction to anyone, from the never-ever-shooter to the experienced marksman!

Took a class from Jeff while on vacation and he did an excellent job. He does NOT have a cookie cutter class for everybody and it is customized to the needs of the people he is training. His instruction was clear and extremely helpful. My only regret was not having more time to spend with him! If you're thinking about taking a class from Jeff definitely do it!
