So I tried to utilize the range here twice: First was on Monday, February 17, 2025. They I arrived at 6 pm but it turns out that they were closed early for the President's day holiday. That's fine but they had not posted it anywhere on their website or on Google. The second time I actually was able to walk into the building but was informed that because my ammo was not in a factory box I would not be able to use it and had to buy their ammo at a drastic markup. They said it was due to Montgomery County code but couldn't provide a citation or any proof. What makes this more suspect is that their ammo policy posted on their website only prohibits steel core/steel case ammo (see attached picture from their website). I can't speak to the quality of the range itself as I was not able to utilize it and the staff was at least courteous when the inconsistencies about their advertised policies were discussed.

Friendly considerate staff, reasonable prices and rarely a waiting list despite being one of the only options within easy driving distance in MoCo.

Believe all of the bad reviews - staff was immediately rude and condescending. Claim to concerned about safety, but don't have an RSO on the range despite multiple employees on site. Don't waste your time or money - went to Machine Gun Nest in Frederick and it was a night and day experience. Poor business practices.

As an annual member, this place is awesome. They offer 9mm for a reasonable price with the annual membership, and considering how often I go, the annual membership pays for itself. The staff always treats me well. The facilities are very servicable. Great place to practice and have fun as well. Highly recommend the annual membership, especially if you are local and shoot often.

This is the BEST indoor range in the county! It's also the only one... This county and state sux for gun freedoms but someone's gotta fight from behind enemy lines.

I donΓÇÖt get bad reviews, honestly. Staff is friendly, lanes have everything you need, great members-only hours, clean restrooms and different types of classes. If you are here to learn or to practice shooting - this is the right place for you. If you demand to be checked in the moment you drive into their parking lot, all types of ammo to be allowed, ΓÇ£yessir, thank you sirΓÇ¥, etc; then please, please stay home.

Went to Gilbert gun range for a one on one lesson. It was my first time shooting anything, and my instructor Sam walked me through all of the basics. He made sure I was comfortable holding the gun, understood the mechanisms of the gun and safety while using the gun. By the time the lesson was over, I felt confident enough to shoot on my own. Thank you Sam for such a well thought out lesson.

I had an amazing experience at Gilbert Indoor Range last weekend, where I took the Defensive Pistol 101 class. The instructors, Andrew and Chris, were outstanding! They explained everything in a clear and detailed manner, and their ability to identify and correct my mistakes was impressive. The move-and-shoot practice was especially engaging and really boosted my confidence. IΓÇÖm already looking forward to taking more classes, including rifle and precision shooting. Garage range. Place is run down, no range safety officer. Bathrooms incredibly dirty. Confident to say anyone whoΓÇÖs given this place more than one star has never been to a real range. Take your money to Frederick where itΓÇÖs safe, clean and friendly.

This range definitely isn't the best. There's a bunch of ammo they won't allow you to shoot. It takes forever to get checked in for a lane. You have to use tape to put a target up on a piece of cardboard & hope it doesn't spin left or right. The floor is never cleaned while shooting so it's casings all over the floor. I've been here at least 5 times and never see range officer's on patrol while people are shooting which is a huge red flag for safety. The ventilation system must not work at all because it feels like 85 degrees in there. It's just a terrible place to shoot I'd rather take a 45min drive to Guntry or Xcal. I only gave this place 2 stars because it's only 10min away from my house.

The staff at Gilbert is friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about gun safety. The range is clean and well-appointed. And, the prices are reasonable. What's not to like?

I was visiting the US for the first time from the UK. And took the beginner class at the Gilbert Indoor Gun Range. Our instructor was a guy called Chun. He was kind, knowledgeable and very accommodating. I had a great time and would recommend checking this place out. What I think could've been better, is if they offered a range of firearms to try in the beginner class.

Max is an incredible instructor, I took the beginner's class with him and he was phenomenal. He explained the mechanics behind both the safety and the actual mechanism of the firearms. Visually demonstrated all aspects of fire arm safety and handling and gave incredible pointers when it came.to shooting and firearm safety. Nick was great very friendly and helpful as well. Clean facility with amazing staff. Will be back
