Fred Barnes is a great instructor! Unfortunately we had to cancel our appointment, but when we first walked in Fred was so kind, informative & patient. Everyone should be trained in the proper use of a firearm, yet as someone with a lot of anxiety, IΓÇÖve been putting this off. However, Fred has a calming presence! Once we are able to return, I know he will provide the best experience!

These guys are the BEST! My friend and I were visiting the area and wanted to shoot. Both of us are from out of state. They treated us like friends and even gave us the military discount (retired). Go there.

Guy ask me if I ever put a gas tube on I said I watch videos he said I'll show you then they charged me lol . Never again.

Fred Barnes was a great first-time instructor. He made sure we didn't have any questions during the class and was sure to take his time properly explaining EVERYTHING. His personality was on par! He is definitely a great guy! Thank you, fred!

IΓÇÖve been going here for a little over a year now and recently the service that was once nice and friendly hasnΓÇÖt been good. Particularly one guy who is new and goes by ΓÇ£MickjaggerΓÇ¥ not sure if thatΓÇÖs his real name or not. I had a 300blk rifle and the cotter pin broke, I was talking to another crew member about the process of getting it fixed and ΓÇ£MickjaggerΓÇ¥ chimes in and starts talking to me like a child he was raising his voice and speaking in a belittling demeanor, as IΓÇÖve said, IΓÇÖve dealt with this guy before, I walk in one day to look at shotguns and I didnΓÇÖt even ask to hold a gun and he demanded my ID. I gave it to him to prove I was 19. He makes me feel uncomfortable and he has terrible customer service.

I spent about a half an hour going over the different pistols before buying one. They were honest and on point. I use the range and am able to fire all of my firearms there. A great place to go.

Nick was very helpful, Friendly, And informative. Tina was also very friendly and helpful when it came to the paperwork aspect of transfers. Highly recommend hammer down range, Will continue to use for all future transfers, And local purchases.

If I could 0 stars I would. I took in to the gunsmith a Kimber 1911 to be fitted for an Ed Brown barrel and a Marlin 22 rifle that I wanted barrel threaded. I was told it would take around 2 months and 45$ per hour. Thought that was pretty good so I said ok. After 2 months I started calling in every month. Got the same response, the gunsmith will let you know when it is done. Took them in on 4/14 and received voice-mail on 9/21 that my Kimber was ready but not my 22. I thought ok they will get to my 22 soon and pick them up at same time. I picked them up tonight, 11/18, 7 months after original drop off and 22 wasnt touched. When I said to the manager you are really gonna charge me $20 for storage of my gun that was supposed to be done in 2 months and I am picking it up untouched after 7 she said yes...They charged me $90 for the barrel fitting which should be a little bit of filling and some test fire. Shot 13 rounds of my ammo and there is more powder buildup that I have seen on a mag than I have seen shooting 100s of rounds. There is a tension in me pulling back my slide and it i dont let it slap forward I have to pull it shut. Tells me that it is not truly fitted. I have not contacted them about this as I picked them up30 mins before they close but I dont trust taking it back to fix. I also requested for a copy of the work order from the manager multiple times and she would not give it to me. They have been very polite on the phone and in person until I started disputing charges but I will never use them again.

I went here for the first time on 9/12 around 4pm. I was really impressed by how kind and helpful they were. The gentleman behind the counter (I wish I had gotten his name) was fast in getting me setup to use the range. The range itself was nice, everything was neat and clean as it should be at a range and the directions were clear. Since, I live in Batavia this will be my go to since it's one of the closest. I went at a time where it wasn't that busy so that was nice I can't comment on how it is when it's busy as I like to go on none busy days. Thanks!

It was 100 degrees on the range. They didn't tell us their a/c was out. They also accused me of not cleaning up the range when I left on my previous visit. They even put it in their computer. This was incorrect as I have always cleaned up my brass when I'm done. But there was no sense in arguing with them. There are plenty of other ranges in town.

Came in today for the first time and got signed up for a range card. Prices are extremely reasonable. This was the first time I've had to zero in a rifle before. I had the general idea of what to do but I struggled with it because the sight was so far out. I had given up. I went back in and spoke with Travis and he came out and showed me what to do. He got it zeroed in for me so i have a start for the next time I go I can work on a longer distance next time I go. I tried to give Travis $20 for his help but he refused it. Thank you Travis for all your help today. See you guys next week.

I went in for the first time to pickup and shoot my S&W 9mm Shield. Tina was very friendly and informative on everything. I have already been twice this month including MotherΓÇÖs Day (today) I brought in my 12 gauge and pistol to shoot with my mother. Travis was very helpful in teaching us how to operate the firearms as safely as possible. I will definitely be going back with my mom. We will be back for the safety class.

I've been here a handful of times and its great. The employees are extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I brough my 9 year old and 12 year old and they were comfortable and safe. This is, by far, the nicest and cleanest range I've ever been to. I don't shoot a lot, but I'm probably not considered a newbie, they made me feel comfortable asking some dumb questions. Well done Hammer Down Range!

I've been to this range a few times since the closing of the range in Newtown. Me and a few others I've brought to HD have purchased guns and some. My previous experiences was great. But my last experience made me not want to come back. I am a please and thank yu type person regardless of race etc. But if I feel like im not wanted I won't be back to spend money. The guy in the store never greeted me, only spoke when asking questions at check out. No smile, no eye contact, no have fun, have a great day..but made sure to keep an eye on me in the range an while loading my truck. Bad vibes and terrible customer service skills. Thankfully the Newtown location has opened back up into a point blank.
