A: Joe, Koch Trap & Skeet is a shotgun only facility so we will be unable to help you here. However, there are a few indoor facilities around the Omaha area that allow pistols and also have great training programs.

IΓÇÖve been shoot at Koch for the past 4 years and it is a gem. The staff is great and knowledgeable. Reading some of the reviews it is apparent that some lack common sense. Yes it is a public range but after talking to the range manager I am now aware of the limitations placed on this facility. The range needs to be in the black so range hours are pretty limited and employees are restricted to how much they can work. Advice: if posted close time is 6pm donΓÇÖt show up at 5pm and expect to get out and shoot 10 rounds.

Wednesday October 23, pheasant opener is Friday. Buddy and I meet at 6pm to shoot a couple rounds of trap to get ready to hunt. We walk in and the young lady behind the counter says her boss told her to turn people away. The posted hours say the range doesn't close for TWO HOURS!! AND there are only a couple stations being used on the trap side!! AND it's a lighted range if it gets too dark!! Pretty sure that in Nebraska, at a public range, that is tax payer funded, the week of hunting opener, that this is the wrong person to manage this range. You won't get me to understand otherwise...

I have been spending a lot of time here since my kids decided to join high school trap teams. I honestly have not had a bad experience yet. Ryan is the guy to ask for if you have any questions or concerns, he is extremely helpful. They do get pretty busy sometimes, but I have never had a problem getting a range within a timely manner. It is great being able to shoot some rounds with my kids and then hang out in the clubhouse for some sodas before they have school practice. We are here quite often so we decided to become members, this allows us to get $6 per round instead of the regular $9 per round. With 2-3 shooters this $3 per round adds up quickly.

This is a nice little range. They have around 13 trap fields, 6 skeet layouts, and a little 5-stand! Worth the visit if you ever get a chance.

Always a good time. The staff is friendly and helpful. There was supposed to be a wait but that was quickly remedied. Great place to bust some clays. I'd recommend checking their website or calling to verify hours, especially during high-school seasons and colder weather.

Nice facility, but gotta question the management; they delayed our start this morning for over an hour because of lightning in Iowa, ridiculous

Best place around to shoot trap. Clubhouse is very nice since it was redone a few years back. Wife & I shoot as much as we can there weather permitting. Also, they only close at 5pm in the off season. Starting in spring they will be open until 7pm. Just doesn't work in the winter bc of the cold...& well, you know...sun going down early & all. Can shoot what you can't see. We love HAKT&S!!

I'm from OKC visiting my son who's in the Air Force at Offutt AFB. We went to the horse races yesterday and heard distant shooting. Given we were in the city I figured it had to be shotguns. A quick look at google maps satellite revealed lots of skeet and trap ranges. We went today and had a great time. We have some good skeet and trap clubs in OKC and this one is as good as it gets. Lots of ranges both skeet and trap. Very unusual to have a facility like this run by a city park service but Omaha is a one of a kind city. You won't go wrong shooting here and the rates are very reasonable even for out of towners. My only gripe is they should offer the same rate to military personnel as they do for seniors. Junior enlisted personnel have a hard time affording the expense of shotgun shooting and a break on the expense might encourage more of them to give it a try.

I went to this establishment as a first time trap shooter. I asked a lot of questions and even asked for some pointers. I received nothing but a great welcome and great service. People must be talking about a different range cause this place was clean and enjoyable to be at. Thanks for the great first impression.
