TLDR: because i was late i was forced to remove my compensator and had a negative effect on group size causing me to leave competition after second round. I was late to a benchrest competition 100% my fault should have been on time but stuff happens. I was lucky enough to have a friend there who set up my target for me. when i arrived 15 min after shoot time "0800" i was told i would be sharing a bench with one of the 22cal shooters. i was ok with that because i was just happy they would still let me shoot. the problem started after me shooting 3 rounds i was told my gun was to loud and i could either remove my compensator or not shoot. the reasoning was because the loudness of my gun "308 semi auto" was disturbing the other 22 cal shooters. I asked why i was told to remove it when it was fine the last time i came and Mel said " because i was late they had to put me in the middle of the range instead of the far end with the other centerfire shooters and that everyone was really upset because of it". I'm not sure why i was placed in the middle "lane 6" when there was two other benches at the end i could have shared with i believe 10/11. I don't know why Mel had me share a bench with someone in the middle of the line up knowing i was shooting centerfire when there were two other centerfire competitors i could have shared a bench with at the far end of the range. I decided to remove my muzzle device and it had a negative effect on the grouping as well as dropped my point of impact down by 4 inches. I ultimately decided to leave the competition because ammo isn't cheap and i was no longer being competitive. I feel there where many other ways this situation could have been handled and Mel "range officer" could have worked with me to come up with a solution to make everyone happy instead of having acted like a butt "nice way of putting it" the way he did. one example would have been after the first round to move me down to another bench and have me share a bench with someone else. gave two stars instead of one because they did allow me to shoot after being late and i feel that was worth something.

No membership needed. $15/person. But do yourself a favor and drive 30min further and go to Route66 which is also no membership and a bit more but you get your own private lane. Cardinal rule of ΓÇ£you get what you pay for.ΓÇ¥ You wonΓÇÖt have someone who doesnΓÇÖt care unless you have a challenge coin or someone who care if you sneeze in the wrong direction. The dichotomy of bad range experiences. But only one unholy trinity away whoΓÇÖs a ΓÇ£know it allΓÇ¥ who that knows what type of coating your gun needs to shoot a dime between two trees falling in the forest without making a sound. So two for three isnΓÇÖt that bad for $15.

This place is great. On a weekend getaway to Palm Springs with the family and decided to look to see if there was anywhere to shoot. I found the hi desert rod and gun club and I canΓÇÖt say enough good things about the staff and patrons. IΓÇÖm new to trap and they weΓÇÖre all eager and happy give instruction and pointers to less experienced shooters. I will definitely be back on our next trip out to the desert.

A well-organized, clean range that offers a variety of target opportunities for almost all calibers and firearms. Portable toilet on site, but bring your own drinks and food. There's a small picnic table away from the firing line.

My girlfriend and I went to this range for the first time on Saturday, March 18, 2023 and had the best experience. It was my girlfriend's first time ever shooting and we took my new rifle and scope. Priorbto arriving, Kim answered all my questions promptly via email. Once arriving, the guys working the range were incredibly friendly, helping my girlfriend feel comfortable with the experience and helped me sight in the new scope. Also, the other patrons at the range were friendly and welcoming. We really couldn't have asked for a better experience. We highly recommend this range.

Way cool range. I went to dial in my rifle and got to do just that. There are beanbags/stands for you to use and targets provided. There are gongs if you can hit them. Ten lanes, covered, with benches, and not too packed when I went on Saturday. Very helpful range master. I'll be back!

Wifey and I went out last weekend to the Hi-Dessert Shooting range and we had a great time. We were there to zero our Benjamin Bulldog scope, try some different pellets and learn the 357 air rifles shooting characteristics at 50 and 100 yards. We were both impressed by the professionalism and coaching from the range masters working this day, Joe, Mark, Barbara and Judy did a great job keeping everyone safe. The $10/day fee is a great price to pay for an awesome range day. We would highly recommend this range.

Took my mom there to shoot a gun for the 1st time in her life... Best decision ever! The staff is amazing here. It was a slow day so we had the full attention of the owner and he was so awesome. He taught her everything and what a teacher! She was on target the whole time. I couldn't have picked a better place. Thank you so much!!

Kudos to range safety officers who are not only volunteers but they're doing 90% of the work while the 'range master' sits in the office collecting money, pick and choose who he wants to help which mostly are young women he can flirt with. I wouldn't bring my family out here for two very specific reasons: one is rattle snake warning sign, the other is the bathroom which is a poorly maintained Porta-Potty with rodent dropping and bits of tumble weed all over the floor. Needless to say that's a health hazard even by third world country standard. Unless you live locally, there are better atmosphere with non hazardous facilities out in San Bernardino/Riverside areas to shoot.

truly an awful experience. the range is only open for 7 hours 3 days a week. you have to pay $10 dollars for the privilege to shoot there if you're there for 10 minutes or all day, and they constantly hover over you and distract you from your experience. it might be a fine place to shoot for regulars but if your an occasional shooter be prepared to be harassed and discriminated against by the staff.
