Friendly and laid back people, good rates, never too crowded, good for shooting overall. They sell some stuff as well and they have absolutely adorable cats and dogs on the property too, lol. Highly recommend if you want a good outdoor range. Open from Sun-up to sundown.

Great place to go do some therapy shooting. Owners very helpful and friendly.its easy to get to the place from Waco (around 35 minutes)and you can feel the welcoming atmosphere by the guards 🐕 🐈 . Really affordable pricing and the rent service it’s really good. Ammo it’s also at a moderate cost. So it’s definitely worth it.

Gun range was well set up and separated. Plenty of lanes. They have gun rentals, ammo sales, and PPE. Great family time in a safe environment.

ItΓÇÖs been years since IΓÇÖve visited this range; however, this is the one range I want to go by myself and train because once in a while youΓÇÖre the only one on the range for almost half of the day and no one is bothering you asking questions.

I used to live in Belton and used the range to shoot my Mech-Tech CCU, My 1911 45, and my Sptingfield Armory M1A. I received very good tips and advice while there. Since then I relocated to Nashville, NC. I miss going to Hicksville. I do not get back to Texas often but I will stop in when I do.

Everytime I come here I remember why I make the drive. Sure, there are other, closer ranges with competent staff, but they donΓÇÖt come close to the friendliness of the everyone here. Due to a miscommunication of plans, I was stuck at the range alone with hardly any ammo for about an hour, but JD made me feel welcomed and I appreciated the opportunity to sit down and talk with the man. Even after moving to Round Rock, IΓÇÖll probably still make the trip to Gatesville to shoot here.

The owners of this place are absolutely wonderful people. Had an amazing experience shooting a variety of guns here at a very affordable price point. Also shot my first 50 Cal and 500 Magnum here. Did I also mention this is also a petting zoo? Check out the 2 border collies, the chickens and the cool gatos hanging around!

I found myself at this range after Texas Star was crowded with atleast 20 people. It was a 40 minute drive from Texas Star but we decided to go anyway since my wife and I were eager to do some shooting. We had an amazing experience here, awesome people and great range. Southern hospitality at its finest. This is going to be my go to range from now on.

The range and the rules were explained by the RSO and then I was left alone to do my own thing and that's why I'll be back. They even accommodated me with setting a USMC 36 yard zero when other ranges would only allow 25 or 50. I encourage you to call beforehand and verify that they will be open. Great experience.

I frequently find myself out at Hicksville to do my shooting. I’m usually testing handloads in my rifle and during the week if I can get out there it’s very quiet and not busy. Staff is great. I have not used his pistol bays, but I see people over there often and it’s all well maintained. 100yd rifle range has a covered bench area and pretty decent benches. The range as a whole is nothing fancy, but has exactly what you need/expect when you go to the range. Don’t forget to give the dogs and cats a couple pets before you leave, they too appreciate your company. Haha. It would be nice if they offered a year membership or something, as I could probably save some money that way. 😂

I can't speak to the range it's self, but I am visting the area and needed a much longer range then they offer here at Hicksville range, they quickly responded and offered a great suggestion where to find a place that can accommodate me. Thank you so much for your professionalism and help

The Range: Driving into the range it didn't look like much. However, it has everything you need to do some good shooting out to almost 100 yards (a few yards short by my pace count🤷‍♂️). And it has auto clay pigeon throwers so I'm looking forward to that next time. And 18 bucks for the whole day (15 for me and 3 for a credit card processing fee) cannot be beat. Overall, worth the money. Plus is nearly in the middle of nowhere so it's a very peaceful and relaxed environment. Our experience: It was great. I brought my 7 year old son with me and he had a lot of fun shooting his little 22 rifle. Now, my son is autistic and he doesn't like loud noises. So when it was my turn to shoot my rifle or pistols he went and hung out in the office. I asked him later if he made friends with owner and he said yes LoL. I don't know if he would charge for child care but I'd pay it haha. Seriously, thanks for that. Overall, had a good time with my kid and we'll definitely come back.

I been going here for years with my hubby. Everyone is friendly and amazing. I never have an issue and when I have a question they are always helpful. The range is great. I like the fact that you donΓÇÖt have someone breathing over your neck the whole time.
