Been member two years love this range people are pur professional ,guys yaw need to post when you decide to close got up today and check web page and it said yaw were open loaded up and drove 45 minutes to come shoot and yaw were closed waste of time and money and gas disappointing

HISR is great. Wonderful range with a lot of options. You have plenty of space to set your gear and have a good time. Don and Matt are very helpful, and they have a lot of great classes throughout the year.

Probably the nicest range I've ever been on. Plenty of bays at various ranges. Really nice open pistol bays that are tucked away individually to safely train real world techniques.

Great range and great staff. I picked up an incredible Hoffner knife there while taking a training course through Sheepdog Response. Check them out! Great prices on ammo as well.

Great selection of covered bays to shoot from ranging from 25 yards out to 380 yards. Action bays for pistols and a steel park to enjoy.

Hobbs island offers everything you need in a range, plus a pro shop and the staff is courteous as well as knowledgeable and professional.

Very professional range they have everything you need from a long range section with steel targets to know what you've hit and bunkers with steel for competitive shooting everyone who works here is amazing and they always take care of anyone who comes in

Rude on the phone and expensive wonΓÇÖt let public shoot at the range have to have member ship and said it was $450 starting out no thank you

I visited HISR to take advantage of the 380 yard range to do some longer range practice with my rifle before a Colorado Elk hunt. I shot three boxes of shells that day, and really got dialed in at the longer distance. Less than two weeks later I was on the side of a mountain in Colorado, with my opportunity at the bull of a lifetime at 408 yards. Thanks to the experience I gained at HISR, I was able to connect on two of two shots. I don't know if I would have made or even attempted the longer shot without the range time at HISR. I am now a full member, and recommend this facility.

Management at this members-only outdoor range has built a fantastic community in south Huntsville. Membership is open to the general public. Hobbs Island Shooting Range is very welcoming. They are inclusive to people of all backgrounds. Being members-only has allowed them to maintain a family-friendly, safe environment and be a responsible part of the neighborhood. The clubhouse is in excellent repair and is a good place to rent for meetings. It's worth noting that Hobbs Island hosts classes that are open to the public without a membership.

Let us start with the first part, customer service. As stated in a previous review, I received similar treatment. As I walked in, 2 gentlemen were chatting in the front room and I was looking around looking for someone. As I was not greeted by the men, I immediately assumed they didn't work there, so I creeped toward the back to see an empty office room. It was then I was greeted by one of the men in the room. Wasn't the greatest interaction, as I was mentioning I knew they were a private shooting range, and before I could finish my question asking about a possible day pass, I was but interrupted with an abrupt reminder they are MEMBERSHIP ONLY. Now to the second most important part, memberships. It baffles me as a business model to require memberships only to a place that has very few visitors in the first place. When I arrived at the range, there was literally one person at the range. I would think that if you wanted to double dip in revenue, maybe offer day passes on your least busiest days as most shooters are eithers trying out new guns or sighting in their rifles for hunting season. Hard to believe anyone would want to get a membership for 600/yr for maybe 2 visits of shooting, whereas I am guessing at a minimum a 1000 visits a year of day passes might be a good option. Reason for the 1 star would be, the lack of customer service and lack of services.

Grateful to have a place like this anywhere near the house. Memberships are expensive, but you get what you pay for - if you use it. Good folks and great place to get those reps in.

Great shooting range to be a member of. The staff is quite knowledgeable and always willing to help. The store has everything you need for a day of shooting. The range itself has several options to choose from whether long range or private areas. Unlike the indoor ranges where youΓÇÖre elbow to elbow, HISR allows you to have plenty of space plus park your vehicle at the location youΓÇÖll be shooting. Always feel safe at the range with the other shooters.

It's a nice range out in the countryside. It's got short and long ranges, pistol bays, the owners are pretty cool, and the mountain ranges are a great sight.
