Just did their 3 hour intro class. I am a complete beginner. The class and facility were professionally run and that really put my newbie mind at ease. I am definitely signing up for another class soon to get even more comfortable and proficient!

I just took a private class with Mitch at Howell's. I'm a new gun owner so this class helped me gain the confidence and competency I need to be more comfortable with using my handgun and better informed about how to do so safely. Mitch was patient, knowledgeable, provided pertinent information, answered all my newbie questions, and knew just what I needed to work on to perfect my shooting ability. I totally recommend this class and Mitch to newbies such as myself and for those wanting to improve their handgun skills.

Nothing but praise for the wonderful staff at Howell's! I've purchased multiple weapons so far, and have had the pleasure of working with Ryan to have a custom rifle assembled! Highly recommend for any interest in shooting!

I was looking for a handgun and a local competitor was selling it for $50 less, would they match? No. So they missed out on a sale. I miss the old Howells that actually wanted to make a sale and had very competitive pricing.

The staff are okay and the range is good but the ammo prices are grotesque. The markups are just astonishing. 40 cents a round for a box of 9mm Scorpio? I can get 10 boxes at 13 dollars per box with the shipping included but they're charging $20 for a box here. Same quantity, same brand. Do yourself a favor and buy ammo online and just use the range as a service.

This right here is a premium range experience. Decent ammo prices, great, friendly staff, easy waiver process, and they allow rapid fire. The facility itself is also high end and well run. There's a great selection of used guns and product overall. If you're going shooting in Maine, this is the place.

Called with a quick question about their gun range. The gentleman who answered responded to the fact I had a question with: ΓÇ£Be quick sir, IΓÇÖm busyΓÇ¥. This is no way to treat a customer of the shop. Customer service by employees is horrible and after hearing this guy say that to me, I will never step foot in that store again. I was surprised to be spoken to like that for having a simple question. Upon reading the reviews for this place, seems like they all have attitude problems. Very poor customer service!

This shop is always staffed with knowledgeable and courteous staff. They always take the time to make sure their customers feel valued and well served. Please be sure to visit this shop and give them a chance to earn your business. In a post-covid world this kind of customer service is nearly extinct, but Howells still treats customers with top notch service. 7/5 stars if it were possible.

First visit here in years, Windham Weaponry didn't have a availability, should have saved my money. Nothing special here. Standard waiver, but the video that is required to be viewed is insulting to LEO and Military experienced shooters. Staff seemed friendly enough. I'd highly advise NOT buying ammo there! $22 + for 9mm of a brand I've not heard of. Could have got 9mm at a big box store from a name brand, S&W, Blazer ect.. for $17ish. $2+ for a paper target?? Ranges, I'll not go back. Small shooting lanes, brass from lane next to you rains down on you. Nice selection of guns though at competitive prices. As for shooting Windham far surpasses!

Laid back staff. Can shoot air rifles and pistols here which are not allowed at nearby Windhamn Indoor Shooting Range. I recommend anyone keep driving past Windhamn Indoor and go to Howell's for better service.

My wife and i visited Howells on our vacation to Maine to experience their class 3 rental firearms. We were blown away by their patience and generosity. They hooked us up with some really awesome guns and gave us a deal. They were thorough and patient with my wife at the range who is a fairly new shooter. I would highly Recommend using this indoor range to anyone. As far as the gun store goes, i was Also impressed with their selection and helpfulness. Really a superb experience

Got a Matthews LIFT 29.5. They had the exact color I wanted. Only problem was I showed up when the archery guy was on his day off. I got help from another associate and he did the best he could. I was able to go in the next day and have everything set up for me and all the accessories I wanted. Left feeling good and happy with everything walking out with nice new equipment. If you are looking for a bow and need help this is the place to go. Just call ahead and set an appointment up he needs time off work also.

My wife and I went to the Howell's for the first time this past weekend. The people greeting us were very friendly and welcoming. We had never shot here before and had to view a video. The video was clear and concise and it was evident safety was paramount. Inside the shooting range there was always someone their overviewing the activities. Very impressed with the courtesy and professionalism of the team. If you have never been to a shooting range, make this your first one. To the people at Howell's - please keep the professionalism and your approachability of the people in the facility as a critical requirement! Other places have given my wife and I the sensation we were bothering them when we walked in the door. Very different here. Thank you for the great experience.

Always a great place to shoot and we never encountered the range too crowded. It's been a couple of years since we have been able to stop in due to our relocation to the Virgin Islands. Don was always our "go to" when we visited. He was a great guy and unsure if he's still working there.

The staff at Howell's is fantastic. During the COVID 19 Pandemic many businesses are struggling to get what they need from distributers and to keep their shelves stocked, due to that fact the staff at Howell's helped me find something they had on site already that was even better than the gun I originally had in mind. Thanks a ton! See you all again as soon as things return to normal for a bow class.

Miserable disappointment. I called one afternoon to ask about 12 guage shotgun shells and had a discussion with an older gentleman who explained what I needed after telling him of my new shotgun. He said he had the shells I neeed. The next day I went in. The younger man was uninterested in helping me. I explained I was not experienced with shotguns and that I had been told they had the shells in stock. He had no interest in helping me and insisted they didnt have what I needed. Too bad, I was also going to sign up for handgun lessons. Now I'll just go to windham.
