IF&W Summerhaven Range

The range officers were very friendly & helped me sight in my new build with scope. As it turns out that it is a tack driver 3 in a dime at 100. I plan on going back soon to sight my old 308 with new scope in. The way the range was built throws the sound concussion back at you but it keeps the neighbors happy, I sure wish it was closer.

Just stood there with rifle waiting to shoot. Got skipped by two people. I tell the range officer. He says they will be quick and then I can shoot. Not going to return. All staff was very nice, but not enough staff for the amount of people.

3rd time visiting this range. Excellent facility with outstanding staff who are courteous and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend. Very welcoming to new shooters.

Great range. Good range officers. Pistol range 5yds - 15yds. Rifle range 25yds - 100yds. Bow and arrow range up to 100yds I think.

Went to the capitol gun club open day and thought I'd drop by and see if summerhaven had re-opened yet, honestly the best range I have ever been to, safety orientated, fit for the whole family. I can't wait to bring my less experienced wife ! Highly professional team happy to help at every turn. We will be back !!!!

Been way too long since I went to a range so glad I came here! Very organized and very simple! The staff are 10/10! I will be back to continue dusting off my super rusty skills! I swear I used to be good lol!!! Thank you for providing this facility!

My first experience at Summerhaven was great. Super friendly staff! They even helped me site in multiple firearms. Great for new shooters and anyone looking to site in long guns. I didnΓÇÖt feel pressured or judged at all. They were willing to help me every step of the way. If you are looking for rapid fire/or drawing from the holster it may not be for you. Overall though I had a great time.

Looking to sight in a new scope or teach little Johnny to shoot a .22lr? Yep, you can do that here! And that's pretty much it. -No "rapid" fire -100 yard max target range -Fudd and Fudder volunteers -Unsolicited tips and advice It sucks that this is the current state of public gun ranges in the are, because it makes me rather shoot in the woods on the side of the interstate than come back. Sure, if you're brand new to firearms or are an older shooter, this might be what you're looking for; a highly regulated range with several easily forgettable shooting amenities available for free. I'd gladly trade them to get rid of the volunteers.

this is the range where you go to practice your fundamentals/zero your firearms, this is not where you go to train on more advanced stuff. if I paid for entry, this would be a terrible range, but the volunteers were helpful and professional. there is equipment you can borrow at no cost to you, and the range is clean, comfortable, and overall a good time for shooting at stationary targets at various distances.

Nice clean facility. RMΓÇÖs are helpful. Being a state facility safety is taken pretty seriously. If your looking to sight in a optic or just put a few rounds on a target not a bad spot to check out.

Took the Women's Handgun Safety class today....I cannot say enough about the range and the exceptional staff! It was a great experience and very informative....I definitely overcame my fear of my handgun today! All of the Range Officers were more than helpful and patient....wonderful experience....would highly recommend to anyone looking for a clean, organized range with such helpful staff....kudos to all!

IΓÇÖve shot bows my whole life, and have absolutely never had sucha negative experiences as with Summerhaven, no body there had any bow experience to talk to or help with questions, and there awful targets broke 2 brand new arrows and damaged a third. The targets are so old and cheap thereΓÇÖs literal fungus growing out of them, will never go back and if you value your time and money you wonΓÇÖt either. Edit: also targets only go out to 30 yards! WhatΓÇÖs a joke of a range.

From what I understand it used to just be a sand pit with no staffing. Now it is a typical fudd range complete with ΓÇ£no rapid fireΓÇ¥ and advice that you didnΓÇÖt ask for. If you are an experienced shooter who is looking to practice firing at a realistic cadence to effectively come out of a self-defense situation alive, this isnΓÇÖt the range for you, as you will be yelled at to slow down if you fire more frequently than one round every 5 seconds, regardless of weather your shots are straying off target or not. Good range if you need to sight in a rifle at up to 100 yards. Not much good for anything else.

Longest distance is 100 yards. Very helpful friendly staff. Spy glass, targets, and rifle mounts at site free for use. Just make sure to bring ear plugs and safety glasses.

This is a very clean facility where safety is the number one priority. The volunteer staff are very friendly and helpful with a variety of shooting and safety tips.

Always someone there to breathe down your neck. Who tells you that your not allowed to shoot a pistol on a knee? Most pathetic range. Smh do better

The range officers we had were outstanding. They were very keen on safety and education. They also were very kind in helping teach my wife how to shoot and have lots of encouragement when she was doing well, and taught her when she wasnΓÇÖt. Absolutely plan to come back, new shooters are welcomed and I never felt like we were being judged or yelled at. Highly recommend

Place was pristine and empty (except for the two volunteers in charge) when we arrived; they were friendly and helpful. Archery targets were already setup at varying distances and there were beautiful tables and seats. Will definitely return soon!

Excellent state of the art outdoor range, open to the public but check their schedule on the state IF&W page. It is staffed by IF&W range masters who are friendly and helpful, and even though I couldnΓÇÖt get my red dot dialed in, had a great time trying!

Went here yesterday with 2 buddies and I couldn't have been more pleased with this range! Super friendly, intelligent and patient range safety officers! They helped me sight in my AR-15 and even took the time to adjust the front sight post because I didnt have the tool to do so. Judgement free area and like I said, they were so patient and I didnt feel rushed at all. We took our time and got my rifle sighted in to 100 yards. These officers were so nice that my buddies and I even just sat around with them talking guns, equipment, techniques and just old times lol. I honestly could not recommend a better place to go shooting at! If you haven't been yet then please experience this awesome place for yourself. I found my forever range!

Excellent range and will be better after construction. Clean and clear. Nice shooting tables and target stands. Helpful safety staff.
