Questions & Answers

Q: How much is it for two people to use one stall in the indoor shooting range and test the selection of pistols? and do we have to use ammo provided by Independence Shooting range in those pistols?

A: For the 25-yd lanes it is $18 for first person and $15 for each additional shooter up to 4 shooters assigned to one booth. Basic handguns are $10 to rent one. For $25 you can try out all the different basic handguns (9mm, .40, .45 ACP). When customers rent our guns we require them to shoot our ammo through it. That way we know exactly what is going through the gun and it helps keep our insurance costs down. If all you need is a great safe place to shoot you can bring in you own firearms, ammo, and targets and all you pay for is the lane rental fee. We don't allow armor piercing rounds, steel core, incendiary, or dum dum rounds. Brittany Ward is correct. She's hired!

- Independence Indoor Shooting (5 years ago)

A: Is this wheelchair accessible? I just got a 9mm and ammo and need a place to go to practice. Do I need an appointment?

- Torena Sauer (a year ago)

A: The cost is $18 per person. I think the second person is reduced rate. Maybe $15? If you use their pistols you have to use their ammo. If you use your pistols you can use your own ammo.

- Brittany Ward (5 years ago)

A: Is this rate a per hour fee or unlimited?

Q: How Do you sign up for lessons for new gun owners?

A: You can call 208-576-4867 and ask for Gavin or Ryan. They can tell you all about the classes. You can go to the website at www.iishooting.com and click on the training heading and that page lists a bunch of classes for new shooters. You can read about the classes, look at the training calendar, and even sign up for classes directly from the website. The classes are geared towards all levels of shooters. The New Shooter Orientation is a basic orientation and doesn't even involve firearms (no guns or shooting in that class.) It is for people who are wondering if gun ownership is even right for them. The First Shots is a little more in depth and students actually shoot in the range. The Basic Pistol class if for those with a basic knowledge of firearms who want to get more hands on supervised training and learn good basic techniques that will serve as a solid foundation for them to practice correctly.

A: How long is the women's beginner class if it starts at 6pm?

- Trisha (2 years ago)

A: Just ask either in person or call they will take care of everything. Great place

- Robert Runyan (5 years ago)

A: Walk in, as the staff is amazing!! Or check out their website for training courses! They have a great class called first shots for new gun owners and shooters

- ShibaGurl09 (5 years ago)

A: You can book online at their website: https://www.iishooting.com/training-menu

- Nick Brandt (5 years ago)

Q: Can you shoot your reloads, or do you have to buy ammo from them?

A: You can shoot your own unless you are renting one of their guns for those you have to buy the ammo from them

- Efrain Melendez (7 years ago)

A: Safari Hunter, have you ever heard of slander? I bet you work for Impact Guns. This place is awesome, and they are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Their prices are cheaper than Cabelas and just slightly higher than Impact. Love the 100 yd indoor rifle range.

- Travis Hamilton (7 years ago)

A: You can shoot your own reloads from your own firearm. If you rent a firearm from us you must use ammunition purchased from us in our firearms. This is a requirement from our insurance carrier.

- Independence Indoor Shooting (a year ago)

A: Reloads are ok. Buying theirs is not required.

- Barry Oglesbee (7 years ago)

A: No problem bring your own.

- Richard Compton (7 years ago)

Q: Do you offer gift certificates?

A: yes we do offer gift certificates

- Joe Mackey (5 years ago)

A: I am sure they do

- Jonas Umberger (6 years ago)

A: Yes, they offer gift cards!

- Nicholas Roe (6 years ago)

Q: Do they offer enhanced concealed carry courses?

A: Yes we offer enhanced conceal carry courses. They are taught in our comfortable classrooms and you get to shoot on our indoor range. Our instructors are some of the best in the state, they are the same instructors that teach at the Idaho Post Academy. Our course is also backed by the USCCA, and comes with a book. The cost of the course is on par with other local providers at $150.00. There is no more professional, safe, and comfortable place to take this course in the state of Idaho. Please disregard the comment from Safari Hunter, he is a disgruntled formal employee. Please shoot safe and thanks for the inquiry.

- Independence Indoor Shooting (6 years ago)

A: A lot of the courses are done by our military's finest. Some of the range masters also teach other courses outside of the indoor range.

- Jessie James (7 years ago)

A: Ignore Safari Hunter for some reason he's a little angry. Lol

- Loren Cannon (7 years ago)

A: Yep! And many others!

- Barry Oglesbee (7 years ago)

A: Yes they offer a wide variety of classes.

- Lance Sganzini (7 years ago)

Q: Do you have senior citizens discount and what about women night discount.

A: We don't have a senior citizen discount in the store, but we do have a Senior morning on Wednesdays from 10am-12pm and receive half off range fees. Our women's night is Tuesday evening from 5pm to close. Thanks for you inquire.

- Independence Indoor Shooting (6 years ago)

Q: Do they rent firearms

A: Yes a lot to choose from including 50cal, fully auto and suppressed firearm

- Efrain Narvaez (7 years ago)

A: Yes...and lots to choose

- steve carniglia (7 years ago)

A: I was just there yesterday and some guy was going off with a full auto. It was pretty cool.

- Russ Herron (7 years ago)

A: Yep...full auto as well 😁

- Sunny Blamba (7 years ago)

A: Yes and quite a selection too

- Chris Mortensen (7 years ago)

Q: Do you need to make reservation for a lane to shoot? What days and times are your lessons for gun safety

A: Normally reservations are not needed. But you might check with them as they book birthday parties and group range times some days. Their Class schedules are normally posted on their website. You can always stop in for a informational flyer on their current classes.

- Melanie Keyes (2 years ago)

Q: How much do you charge per hour? Does that include the range fee? If not, how much is the range fee?

A: It is not hourly. It is a simple range fee. It is $18ish for range fee per use but only $35ish for a monthly unlimited membership which includes 2 guest passes. Much better deal if you plan to go more than once.

- T K (6 years ago)

A: The daily range fee is $18 for the 25-yd bays. $25 for the 100-yd bay (which includes the 25-yd bays.) You can shoot all day if there is no other customer waiting for a lane. If there is a wait for lanes then we limit shooters to 1hr and then you have to give up your lane and put your name back in the queue. Some customers will shoot in the morning then go have lunch then come back.

- Independence Indoor Shooting (5 years ago)

A: I did not know that, Tyler. Thanks a bunch! I took a beginner class, last month, and have gone shooting a couple of times, but I guess I didn't notice the membership fee. It is a great deal!

- Phyllis Lamb (6 years ago)

Q: Are paper targets provided or do we have to bring our own?

A: Bring, or buy. Paid courses supply targets.

- Barry Oglesbee (7 years ago)

A: Yes, you can bring your own paper targets every lane on the range has clips to hold them.

- Duane Lewis (7 years ago)

A: Can bring your own or they several different paper targets there. They provide clips to attach the targets with.

- Greg Mitchell (7 years ago)

A: Bring your own or buy theirs.

Me and the wife are brand new to this range. We signed up for membership and found the facility is very nice and shop is full of merchandise. Since my wife is new to shooting we signed her up for a beginner’s class so we’ll see how that works for her. Just one word of caution is it gets busy there so the wait for a lane could be lengthy. I would like to see a reservation type of deal for members only as we paid for a year for this and live 25 miles away. We have gone there and found the wait was a few hours so well left without shooting. Maybe that would boost and encourage people to join a membership to get a bit more of a gaurentee spot. All in all a great place to hone your skills. 👍🏻

The Idaho Enhanced Carry Class offered by 'Independence Indoor'Shooting' with Brenden is a hoot. Bring some snacks and something to drink [non-alcoholic], along with a good attitude, and whatever else is required; and, this class will not only get you a step closer to being certified with an Idaho Enhanced Carry Class certification that will accomplish the goal; it's entertaining as all get out. Not only knowledgable, Brenden makes this course very entertaining. The range time is enjoyable, as the instructors taking us through the paces are very qualified. If you want to have Brenden as your Idaho Enhanced Carry Instructor, call the range ahead of time to learn who will be the instructor. Everything else offered by Independence Indoor Shooting is top notch. [This was an edit to my first review which is below.] I have wanted to take my handgun shooting to a higher lever. Taking the Defensive Handgun 1 class at Independence Indoor Shooting with Brenden, Scott, and Adam instructing the course has been one of the most gratifying handgun courses I've ever taken. Excellent and professional instruction from all of them. Gun safety is always the # 1 priority, and by the end of the class I was confidently drawing my gun and shooting the targets. Up to this point all of my instruction was from either low ready, or compressed ready. I walked out of there knowing what I had to work on to get to that next level. Don't just think about it ... do it!

Just had pin and weld job done. When dropped off cust service was not really great, said it would be 4 weeks to complete. Was kinda shock and was told I could cancel the repair order since they had so many guns in at that time. Stopped in a week later to do some shooting and found out the job was done, no call or notification. Nice that it was done quickly, but not a great job on the work. Not a good weld and looks like they got splatter on muzzle device and had to grind on lower lugs of the muzzle device. No plans to suppress this rifle so not that big of a deal, but if I did I would have to true up the m.d. it is not clock to center, and they nicked the barrel about a inch back from muzzle. It will work but looks kinda shitty.

What a GREAT facility! I’m up here on business, I live and work in Texas, and always up for some range time. The ranges are well lit, clean, have an on-duty RSO…ON THE RANGE, and have plenty of firing positions. Prices are not bad at all, and include discounts for first responders, military, and seniors. I’d be a member if I were to be here longer than I am! Again, a great facility!

My 1st visit to Independence was yesterday, and the process was awesome. Great service and a clean, well run range. I am very picky when it comes to range safety, and it was on-point while I was shooting. The store has a great selection also for all your shooting needs! I was super pleased with my experience and promptly purchased a Membership! I will definitely be visiting many more times.

IΓÇÖve been here a handful of times and IΓÇÖm pretty happy with this place. People have all been friendly, prices are fair, and its a pretty decent range. It was so good that I purchased an annual membership. My few small suggestions/minor complaints are it would be nice if they had anti-fatigue mats to stand on at the range, if they had better target holders other than large binder clips, and they need to fix some of their target cameras on some lanes. One more minor complaint is the prices on some items are really overpriced compared to online pricing. IΓÇÖm talking $300-400 over what you can buy it for online. Also one guy there in the gun sales counter is friendly, extremely helpful and freely gives information and advice. Another person there acts like heΓÇÖs too cool to be there and could care less if you got helped and getting information and help from him is like pulling teeth. Very frustrating. Other than my minor issues, its a great place for training, shooting, gunsmithing, and accessories. They have a large selection of rifles, pistols, clothing, and more.
