We just became members this year & I love it. The education, reminded of information I forgot from my youth, the family friendly atmosphere & people have been great. I have mobility issues & still am able to easily enjoy the outdoors here. The volunteer work it takes to keep the place properly cared for & maintained is well coordinated.

Fabulous hidden gem in the middle of Germantown. Private club, reasonable yearly membership. Helpful, knowledgeable volunteer members. The IWLAR has 54 of mostly wooded private property and offers a variety of interests and is open to new ideas and supports members interests and hobbies. Club activities include: Archery, 3-D Archery, Pistol and Rifle ranges, Pollination gardens, Hiking Trails, Private Stocked lake, Kayaking/paddle sports, fishing, fly tie classes, Air rifle and pistol classes and leagues, Black powder/muzzle loading, Jr. BB's, Jr. Youth Education events, Kayaking, Wood Duck and Bluebird box monitoring, Chestnut Tree Orchard, Bee Keeping, SOS (Save Our Stream) water quality, Salt monitoring, Forest Conservation, Jr. Youth Education events, and more.

The place Izaak Walton you're asking me about is a private drive and all I did was drive past it and parked near there and went to some ruins along 117 that were remnants of an Old Mill. Very interesting.
