A: Perfect for pistols, rifles, and even shotguns.

Q: What is the yards of the long gun range
A: A little more than hundred, however I saw some guys put targets in the hills so that they can have longer range, but that doesnt yield more than 125 either

Wonderful time in the rain. The road is dicey when it rains. Go by 4X4 for safety.

Road going in is paved but only 1 lane wide. You have to find spots to pass oncoming vehicles. Use at your own risk. Most people who were there have never had any range discipline so be cautious when going down range while the range is ΓÇ£coldΓÇ¥. There were a group that showed up near the end who were trying to buy some ΓÇ£9ΓÇÖsΓÇ¥ from other shooters and also handling firearms while people were down range. Stay alert, stay alive.

Not what it used to be a lot of younger ppl that know absolutely nothing about firearms in general but seen a lot of guns pointed at other groups not intentionally but none the less. And so crowded just a pain for us long time users now that there's all ur gun ho culture of today. Ppl that aren't packin are out of the norm anymore. Kids have guns like shoes now. A lot are legal law abiding ppl but still a lot more firearms in society now days.

I can confirm, all of the previous reviews are accurate. Twisting, winding, and paved road. Lots of trash to shoot at but make sure to clean up after yourself. Feel free to leave brass for those who collect. Be safe!

No need to buy targets--there's always some gently-used ones in the trash pile. It sits low in the hollow so you don't have to worry about a bullet going further than the end of the range. The road has been paved in the last few years, I'd call it a lane-and-a-half. Mind the corners.

It's a decent place. First Monday of each month it's closed for cleaning which I couldn't find readily available.

My first and only time at this range. To update other reviews, the road has been repaved, however, it is still one lane. There is garbage everywhere, supposedly cleaned twice a month? The other shooters at the range were nice and everyone communicated about safety and target set up. On the way out a pickup truck came speeding down the road towards me and I was forced off, causing my front passenger wheel to slide into a culvert and my rear drivers tire spinning in the air. Luckily I didn't flip into the culvert! He kept on driving leaving me stranded. I was in walking distance of the supervisor's residence, there was a truck in the driveway but no one was home. I had to wait a while before anyone drove down, which happened to be the guys at the shooting table next to me. I had some straps and we were able to remove my car from the culvert. While loading my car back up the pickup truck came flying by in the other direction and didn't even care about passing extremely close to my car! He definitely was not at the range long enough to shoot! I guess enter the area at your own risk?

I love my gun range I appreciate the fact that I can go somewhere to shoot without paying and I can shoot whatever I like. Everybody I've met has been very respectful and I love just meeting new people of the 2a community. Only downside is that it has some of the hardest dirt I've ever seen makes it hard to put up targets other than that A+ range.

Absolutely horrible. Trash everywhere and extremely unsafe.

Complete mess. Signs to put trash in cans, but they've been overflowed for weeks. If you ever wanted to go shoot in a junkyard, this is next best thing.

It's not so much is there something wrong, as there is adequate parking, numerous spots on the shooting line and shelter. the road to get there is a one Lane Dirt Road with numerousroots holes and ruts that need to be filled in. it'll shake your filling loose. There is no range officer, dangerous enough; and you are out of cellphone range. If someone gets hurt (SHOT), it's a decent drive to a hospital. You had best have a trauma kit ready. In other words, there are much better options available. Safer and more accessible. The people of Kanawha County deserve better.

Nice range. It's at the end of the park. Bring your own targets and stands as this is an open range. The people that were there on my visit were nice. Line calls for all clear and weapons hot were done to accommodate target set ups. Brass is to be left as they have volunteers that will grab the brass for donations.

Nice range, people do not pick up their shells but besides that it is a good facility. The range is not staffed. It is covered and protected from weather. Plenty of spots to shoot and almost never full. Out of cell phone coverage in case of an emergency. Convenient location. You have to bring your own stand or something to shoot. You can usually find things on the range that people have left there to shoot just in case you forgot to bring something. There is handicapped parking. :)
